So I flashed CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V7.0 to my phone earlier coming from CM7.0.3. I cleared /data, /cache, dalvik cache, and my battery stats before flash. I of course made a backup in CWM before hand. So I decided I didn't like the ROM so I ran CWM recovery, there were no errors but when I rebooted it got stuck on the boot animation. I removed the battery several times and tried rebooting but it just keeps getting stuck on the boot animation. Sooooooo, any ideas?
Sounds like a bad nandroid I think. Try to flash a new fresh ROM and see if its boot and then try to flash the back up. If it still doesn't work then sorry your gonna have to start fresh

This happened to me once. I suggest whenever the radio/whatever is successfully flashed through hboot, delete any PDIMG98.img from your SD card immediately. It makes restore back-up events much less of an event...I didn't know the removal / reinsert the SD card trick...I reasoned I needed to get that file off my card so ran to Radio Shack just before close to get a micro SD card reader, so I could delete PDIMG98 using my PC...just removing and re-inserting the card really works huh? Cool .

stuck at boot animation of the cyanogen cat
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie and I had recently flashed cyanogenmod t0lteatt stable version on to my SGH-T889V which was working perfectly fine.
I took a nandroid backup after installing the above
My original baseband was t889vvlucmk4 and was working fine with cyanogenmod
Later on I thought of installing the fancy DN3 v5+ rom
I did not see that this one is for a different model of Note 2.. i.e. it was for aN7100 version and resulted in a BASEBAND UNKNOWN and thus no signal.
I tried wipe cache / wipe reset factory and wipe dalvik and restore the nandroid backup ...
Now I am stuck in Cyanogenmod boot animation.
I waited for at least 15-20 minutes. Nothing happened
Any Tips and tricks ?

An SD card is not required to install Synergy. You can use the internal one in your phone. Of course, your phone must first be rooted with clockwork mod on it because you flash the synergy zip in clockwork.

In addition, since there is no custom kernel packed into Synergy yet, you're fine using the recovery you have.

TWRP does not recognize the internal SD card I'm pretty sure from what I've read. You'll need clockwork to access the internal memory to flash.

yes, as long as you aren't coming from synergy 1.4...wipe it, wipe all of it. Cache/dalvik cache/system. It's a pain in the butt, but you will be happy in the end. You could speed up the app replacement by using titanium backup, but remember not to also restore data, just the apps. I personally just stick to the stock google backup though, as it is usually quicker.
So i tried to flash the latest evervolv jb rom. Didn't boot,oh well.
Went to recovery to restore, error while restoring system, hmmm, never seen that b4.
So went to usb mass storage and downloaded roms 3 times they all say bad , of course they're not all bad.
I am using CW-enhanced recovery v1.1b but have been for a couple weeks not sure if that has anything to do with the problem or not.

Are you Downloading over WiFi , Hardline , or the Network? Are you making sure to check the MD5 Checksum before trying to flash? Did you Restoring a different Rom? I don't think it's the Recovery, as I am currently using Dreads Recovery on several devices with no issues. Has your SD Card been giving you any issues?
I've had this issue when I ran out of space on my SD card (using Dread's Recovery). Probably never did a complete backup but I didn't really pay attention and when I tried to restore it errored out... Perhaps reboot into bootloader and then back into recovery. Then try a different backup (I occasionally save copies of nands on my pc) or a different ROM. Good luck!

Even after I've done the quoted steps, my phone still always hang with Trinity kernel (+ CM7).
It used to work fine before the dual boot stuff.
I think it has something to do with EXT4, because even if I flashed back to CM7 or Faux kernel, phone still hangs.
I have to perform a complete wipe and re-install.
Also problem with not able to mount emmc
Any thought?

Yeah, CWM touch does not work with trinity... 5.0.2.0 needed for that. Also the cleanup batch requires formatting the internal SD in a GB ROM. There is a fix for that, I have been too lazy to implement it .

So this time, I tried Erase SD card and it works (even it is counter-intuitive that you can Erase/Format without not able to mount).
Thanks pressed again.

A boot loop should not have happened. When you enter SS select the Wipe option and use the "Swipe to Factory Reset" at the bottom. Then go back to the Whipe screen and select Advanced Whipe. Select Dalvik Cache, Cache and System then swipe to Wipe. Go back to the SS home screen and install the ROM. I usually wipe the phone 3 times before I install a new ROM. I hope that helps you.

Lol triple wiped top ensure cleanliness, that's old school. We don't do that anymore haha. We used to do that because there was an issue with cwm not wiping completely I think. It still holds on but it's probably overkill honestly

Maybe so but it's better than a boot loop and battery pull. I hate to ask but is your phone a Dev edition? I'm hoping it's just a retail version.

Old habits die hard lol. I find myself double and triple wiping too. Used to be pretty common when I first started back on the Droid X. I got that phone out my junk drawer for my daughter to play with.... Didn't realize how far Android has come until playing with the old DX again lol.

Yeah man times have changed, with everything. Rooting has gotten so much easier, just clicking an apk. Some people had to hold paperclips to their dismantled phones in the old days lol. Flashing is less scary, ota root keepers, recovery tools. In my day you had to work for it lol flash and pray you didn't see the splash screen twice. Wish I still had my og evo, still my favorite phone ever.
