You will need to use titanium backup (root) for backup
Use triangle away app if u see yellow triangle when u boot ure system
then download the latest firmware from sammobile and then flash it via odin.

I rooted my friends tablet gt-p5113 with 4.0.4. I used a different work around method to get the root to stick. I got clock work on but I can't seem to flash any roms on his tablet. I tried using 3 different roms already and I keep getting the same message with Andy on his back and his front door open with a red triangle saying can not open package or some thing along those lines. Any ideas?
I think flash stock firmware from for example www.samfirmware.com then begin again from the beginning !!!
When use a root file next time via odin untick auto reboot then reboot manual vol up+power then if question as fix recovery say yes

I'm kind of at loss. Would that mean that I would have to down grade to the 4.0.3. firmware?
The Tablet is already rooted. Using the method that you listed and using the latest clockwork mod file.
So may be try flashing another version of cwm as 6.0.1.0 or 6.0.1.2 or so via odin for example and make sure you are flashing right firmwares for your device specific model number
Make sure you have a proper root via app like root check basic and install supersu from market
Put the firmware in both internal and external sd and try flashing from both, may be one of them will work

Providing more info can get you better results, like rom /link, cwm version, procedures, this way others can help you diagnose your problem. A screen shot of"about tablet" is also very helpful.

To remove Root:
This Root Remover has been tested with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" P3100 (tested on jellybean)
REQUIREMENT: A rooted Tab 2.
•After you download this file, move it the root of your external SD card( /mnt/extSdCard ). This is the micro sdcard you insert in tablet slot. Your /mnt/sdcard folder is internal memory (not recognized in CWM recovery).
•Reboot into CWM (recovery) using Quick Boot app or
•Power OFF your tablet, disconnect from computer and restart in recovery (CWM) by pushing and holding POWER & Volume DOWN/LEFT buttons at same time. When Samsung Tab 2 logo appears, you can release power button but continue holding volume button for a few more seconds. Note: If you've done this on other Samsung devices, you will notice that it takes longer before blue CWM v5.5.0.4 text appears ... just be patient.
•Once you are in recovery, use volume button (UP/DOWN/LEFT OR RIGHT) to move around and POWER button to select an option.
Select install zip from sdcard. Choose Root_Remover file you already copied to root of sdcard.
When unrooting is finished, choose reboot system now from CWM menu.
NOTE-By downloading and using this file you understand and agree that you bear all responsibility for the use and anything it may do to your tablet.
DOWNLOAD-
Root_Remover.zip (h--p://www.mediafire.com/?ty54o6lah25w41d)
Replace (--) with tt.
For Root (tested on jellybean):
Use chainfire root its d best i have it.
U can google it or find it on xda search (instructions are provided there).
Dont use the above method to remove the chainfire root as it can be easily removed from its modified superuser application but it works as any other root and is superb!
Enjoy,
Kunal

Yeah brother sure,
It means that do not use the unrooting method which i have given you above to remove the chainfire autoroot (developed by chainfire-a.k.a {cf autoroot}). If you have a chainfire autoroot open its superuser application and there u will see an option of removing the root completely. Try it i personally recommend cf autoroot. Only the cf autoroot has the option to remove the root itself coz its superuser app is modified.
Gud luck

Hi Kunal
Hi Kunal.......
I had unrooted my Tab 2 P3100 (v4.1.1 - India) yesterday. I had also used triangle away as u adviced to set counter to zero. After unroot I wipe data/factory reset the Tab. After that then i had done factory reset from settings/backup and restore option in Tab.
But when I tried to update my tab using OTA by going under Software Update option in Settings it displays following message:
YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN MODIFIED. SOFTWARE UPDATES ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
Then I checked for Device status it shows Device Status Custom. How to get rid of all this.
Plz help.
Hey amit,
U dnt have to use triangle away after unrooting its only for after u root ur tab. Btw dnt update to 4.1.2 it just suckss!! It only adds smart stay to ur tab which is NOT working due to a bug in this update i also rolled back to 4.1.1 after i did this useless update. And if u want to update then go to recovery menu (power off then power button + volume up) and from there do factory reset and wipe all cache and data dalvik cache also (it will delete evrythin on your tab)-DO THIS ONLY AFTER UNROOT.
And if the above one does not work then format, wipe cache and dalvik also from recovery menu and then use ota update.
If ota doesnt work then use kies-only if ur tab is unrooted.
Ps sorry for late reply

I think installing clockworkmod for wiping isn't an option. The op flashed stock Rom probably because he wants his warranty back
Installing clockworkmod again would void it again. If the stock Rom you downloaded is the one you had before rooting, then try flashing it again. If it's not, then download your originally out of box stock Rom and flash it with Odin.
Like...the same baseband version as the one you had before any modification of your system

After almost two weeks of seeking for solutions all over internet, the problem was solved. First of all there are no way to root without debuging off via odin o any other tool. All what you have, is just to look for your original firmware of the phone, and it supposed to be four file package.
Looks like:
FULL_CSC_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_MODEM_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
FULL_PDA_I9105PXXAMC2_I9105POXAAMC1_I9105PXXAMC1_DBT.tar.md5
s2ve.pit
In this case it was german phone so files end with DBT.
CSC - as CSC
MODEM - as CP or PHONE
PDA - as AP or PDA
and pit file for re-partition.
The name of whole package is GT-I9105P-DBT-I9105PXXAMC2_Service-Firmware.zip
For those asking for delete dalvik/cache/factory reset, the solution is - RE-PARTITION!
I used also option Nand Erase All, just to be sure I delete everything.
All other operations goes as usual in Odin.
I can't post links here, bat me mercy on those looking for solution for days and weeks long.
So here is link that I found on some forum that leading to (thanx Goshhhh!!!) to Google docs, so download was just 5 min. long.

Flash firmware right after using triangle away.
If you go back to cwm. It goes back to 1 as it can detect your system is modified
When the flashing process is finished, it should reboot. But if you haven't wiped it yet, force reboot it back to stock recovery and wipe. Then reboot.
Congrats, you have your warranty back
