Hi everyone!
Got this Miphone A3 yesterday, and I been searching like a fool after information about this damn phone but it ain't a easy thing to find.
But hey, what do you expect from a cloned iphone
So here's my question:
Anyone sitting on a Miphone and have you done anything with it, most imporant for everything, ROOTED?
Phone info on the phone:
Model number:
A8
Where I bought it, it said A3 on the site (mobino1), same on the battery.
But instead of the iPhone Ui it has the Android Ui pretty sweet that it didnt have the iPhone Ui.
Firmware:
1.5
Don't have Android Market app, but everything looks like Android, also works to install . apk apps tried to install apps from 1.6+ but doesn't work.
Kernel:
2.6.25
Build number:
Linkworld Project .0002_A.1_01r_100129
Been looking for that build number for a while now, don't have any info at all on that one.
Hope some1 here has some info, would be a blessing for me!
EDIT:
I found my way into what i think is the recovery mode, came up a where is said enter flash mode put in usb cable, with red background. Then when i did that, the screen turn blue saying "Enter Flash mode, Begin to flash image..."
Been reading a lot, and i never came up with that kind of "bootloader" just saying that
hope some1 could give me some tips
hi, one of the stores provided firmware from A3, I do not know how fresh. ussd queries are unsuccessful, after ussd calls to hang up. In flash mode turns pressing the upper side volume buttons and switch.
depositfilescom/files/0po3pwcu6 - miphone A3 rom
thanks for that one!
flashed my phone, worked! but it wasnt the same version. this one was with the iphone ui (using ahome)
Model number:
A3
Build number: A3 Project.0001_18r_100411
Seems like my 3G connection does not work with this version. ussd, unsuccessful on this version too, same with previous version.
I was wondering, tried to open the one.bin (flash image) but cannot extract it. Any way to extract the image and try to reconfigure the build?
the phone using "tavor platform" flashing software, anyone know anything about tavor platform?
still trying 2 modify the rom I have, no luck so far.
I do also have this phone from mobino1...
how do you try to modify the firmware you have?
Regards,
xift
miphone a3
I too am with the same problem I have software for Tavor flashing but without success for updated the firmware is in a single bin file without being able to extract and modify
if anyone knows how do to then updated

I been trying to extract the .bin file MagicIso can read the file using it "missing files" but can't read the files when extracted. Trying to find a program that could read the rom file, have you done anything to update the phone? Do you have a rom file, if so could you upload it pls?
tried to get the firmware from mobino1 but they just ignore mig those bastards.

Do you want to flash your phone with the .bin file you already have or do you want to know how to update the phone to android 1.6+?
To flash your phone with tavor flashing software, you need to run the flash program in XP and press "volume up" and "power" on the phone to get to flash mode, then plug in the usb with the flash program open, and it automatically flash the phone.
About updating the phone to a newer version of android I have not a solution.
I been trying to, get info on the hardware so I could try to cook a own rom with at least android 2.0
Cheers
sorry i don't have the firmware as a rom file either...
and these mobino1 bastards ignore me too ^^
although they admitted they could contact the developers...
new firmware would be nice... or at least the current firmware.
I did not downgrade it yet and I think I won't do that.
Another problem could be that the bootloader only runs signed firmware image (just guessing).
I know how to flash I want is a newer room the problem these Chinese are not then updated dependent on us for a updated
(question) has a possibility to use, one firmware and change to a bin file to MiPhone a3

If they just told me straight up, we just sell the phone, we don't have any contact what so ever with the manufacture or developers I would accept it. But this just pissed me off.
I've been asking around on other sites that sells the phone, waiting on answers from them. Hopefully they are more friendly.
Don't downgrade, that was a mistake for me (the rom file azat182 nicely posted).
I tried something yesterday, made a own .bin file with android 2.1 but the flash program wouldn't start with it (parse ini error) so I tricked the flash program that it would flash the one.bin (azat182) rom file.
After it opened I replaced the .bin file with mine. Everything seems to work fine, did every step it should like, root system etc finished 100% when I tried to turn the phone on I couldn't, maybe it didn't know were the power "button" source came from.
The android source was made for an other phone, so I wasn't surprised.
Plugged the usb back in, and luckily the phone connected somehow with the computer so I flash it with the (azat182) rom and I'm back at square -1
but now I think, if I could find out the hardware/drivers on this damn phone it would work to cook a own rom using that method.
Cheers
Oh hey, someone else with one of these phones. I've been messing with mine for a while, started out with the A8 rom (from fastcardtech), and have flashed the A3 rom to the device. I've noticed that the gps works a lot better in the A3 rom than the A8, so it's not much of a downgrade, imo. Recently I've made some headway with an android 2.1 port to the device.
Anyway, this device isn't hard to root. If you adb into it, you can get root from the device by remounting /system as RW and pushing a fixed su binary to /system/bin, or wherever it goes, it's been a while
The MTD partitioning in the Miphone's rom is a big giant mess. The rom is split into 25 partitions, the kernel isn't in boot.img like it's supposed to be, neither are the kernel parameters.
The bootloader is dumb, it doesn't check for signed images. The A3 image and A8 image are both engineering builds.
wow you seem to know a lot about it...
does 3g work for you in the a3 rom? also gps doesn't work for me in a8... so a3 could be a possibility if 3g worked.
how did you adb your phone? I could not connect... the driver just didn't show a phone. although I changed the vendor ids etc...
could you write a short tutorial of some sort? would be nice!
if you are root, couldn't you make a backup of your firmware?
is there a downloadable a8 rom at fastcardtech?
regards, xift
I haven't been able to get 3g working, just edge. I don't think the 3g will work in the US, as none of the carriers will work with just wcdma2100, but I'm no expert on the subject. I've had reasonably good luck with the gps with an app called Maverick, but I don't have a data plan currently, so no agps. With gps alone, it takes about a minute or so in an open area to acquire a lock.
For ADB, there's a driver in the android sdk, but don't bother with it. Instead, the phone's going to show up as a rndis/ethernet gadget. For windows, drivers for this can be found at webos-internals.org/wiki/USBnet_networking_setup, just the .inf is all you'll need; MacOS and Linux will just see the ethernet gadget. Once that's installed, the phone will show up on the PC side as a network interface that will need an IP address; I've been using 169.254.231.10 and subnet 255.255.255.0. Once your network interface is configured, you should be able to run adb connect 169.254.231.168:5555, assuming you've got your android sdk tool set up already. From there, you can adb shell in and poke around. Once you get an adb shell, you'll have a root prompt, but to get 'rooted' so that other android apps can make use of it, you'll want to run adb remount to remount /system as RW, then copy a working version of su over to the phone. I think superuser whitelist comes with one.
I don't usually go to that much trouble, as I end up cycling between the A3 firmware and my Eclair build a lot, and the A3 rom is jacked up to where it's a pain to get a terminal emulator running on it. Adb from my desktop seems to get the most mileage.
Fastcardtech didn't have any useful information about recovery firmware that they had, a release date for an android 2.1 rom, information on the manufacturer, anything.
Wow thanks a lot... I tried with the sdk driver.
port 5555 seemed blocked there although it was obviously responding (took much longer than other ports). Thanks for your help - I'll try that one.
Could you upload your eclaire build?
I don't have much time at the moment because of my bachelor's thesis. But I'd like to see that and maybe I could help a bit. Although I do not have any experience with mobile devices etc.
You may need to mess with the usb debugging option. After flashing to the a3 rom, it's enabled. I remember it being the same between the a8 and a3 roms.
At some point, yeah, I'll my eclair build up. I'd like to at least get bluetooth, gsm and wifi going again before I do. I don't have a rom that you'd be able to flash currently; more like a big pile of build scripts, and install scripts for the android system and ramdisk.
yeah I understand that. You could open a google code project or something.
nice to know that there is somebody working on this.
usb debugging is enabled by default. I'll just have to try again.
thanks for your help so far.
file inf
I not have disk only cd and dvd when I will install the drive without the disk says no drive found I save the file as usbnet-pre.inf
if anyone can help me pls
well I also had problems installing the driver in windows ...
It always said something like "No driver found at that location".
You could try on linux though... It worked like a charm for me.
I'm root now
@nsigma is there anything I could provide you from the a8 image?

Hello Fire owners!
I open this thread to keep all things of Fire together, only one thread, everything here.
So here we go:
THIS THREAD IS FOR MOTOROLA XT311/XT316/XT317, XT530/XT531, XT532 AND XT611 (aka SMARTFLIP) ONLY. IF YOU HAVE A SIMILAR THREAD, PLEASE PM ME AND PASS ME YOUR POST. LET'S KEEP XDA ORGANIZED!
CWM FOR FIRE XT XT530/XT532, SPICE XT XT531, FIRE XT311, SPICE KEY XT316 OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED
This thread was focused in the 2nd-Init for XT31X and XT530, 531 and 532. For almost six months, we worked patientlly to get the CWM working on our devices. The wait for CWM is OFFICIALLY OVER. In a couple days ago, our friend aweosomeabhijeet found a way to run CWM on Gingerbread. The tutorial (made by himself) will be posted NOW:
Hey Guys
All your wait is over.
Here I'll tell you how to get CWM for Moto Fire XT.
Disclaimer : I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone. I have tried it and finished successfully.
Try only if you know little bit about android.
This is beta version. However, a dev is working on not using a PC to reboot back into system, and is trying to make the installation simplified.
Lot of thanks to andrewidya
Required things
1. Rooted XT
2. Pc
Download these things on your phone:
1. Terminal emulator
2. Busybox(Open it and install)
3. Root browser
4. Pimp my Rom
5. ES file explorer
You can find all of them in the Play Store.
If you have done with it download the attachment.
Now main work.
It is not easy though but I think everyone can do it.
Steps:
1. Extract the attachment and copy it to your sdcard
2. Mount /system as RW.
3. Open Root Browser and copy bootmenu folder from sdcard/XT530 and paste it in /system.
4. Open Pimp My Rom and Add universal init.d support.
5.Create 97bootmenu manually.(For this using ES file explorer is recommended)
Steps:
a.Open /system/etc/init.d
b. Create a file, name it 97bootmenu.
c. Open the file as text
Type:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
stop
exec /system/bootmenu/binary/bootmenu
d.save the file
6. Change permissions of 97bootmenu to rwx r-- r--
7. Reboot your phone.
Now your phone will start at bootmenu.
Select Recovery>Custom Recovery
PS: If you want to get back the phone to boot normally. Just connect it to PC, open CMD and type
cd path-to-adb.exe
adb shell
rm -R /system/etc/init.d/97bootmenu
exit
adb reboot
I succeeded here's the video:

ROOTING & UNROOTING
You will follow this tutorial if you have 2.3.5 version of Android:
Downloads:
Here are the apps/files needed for Rooting -
1. SuperOneClick 2.3.3.0
2. SUT LR 1.8.2 (Doesn't seem to be working on 64-bit systems)
3. FXX_PR3_NV.xml and NvDefinition.xml [ATTACHED]
Before Rooting:
Prepare your phone by doing the following:
- Go to Settings > Applications > CHECK "Unknown Sources"
- Go to Settings > Applications > Developer > CHECK "USB Debugging" and "Stay Awake"
- Connect your phone via USB, when prompted DO NOT select USB Mass Storage.
- Extract FXX_PR3_NV.xml and NvDefinition.xml from the attached zip file in to a folder
- Now, install SUT LR, run the app
- Select the FXX_PR3_NV.xml [ensure NvDefinition.xml is also in the same folder as FXX_PR3_NV.xml]
- Your phone will restart.
It does NOT erase anything on the phone, since it only patches the ROM.
Rooting:
After the phone restarts, open SuperOneClick and select root. It will take less than a minute to finish.

about CG2.smg
Hey man I'm interested in the thread and i can help you extracting the CG2.smg
Here you are my tut. [for windows] it worked for me
1- unrar the file in the attachments
2- make sure that your file is named to 'CG2.smg' without quotes for sure, and in the same folder..
3- just run the .bat and wait for cmd to finish the job then you will find a folder called 'CG2-extracted' in the same place you extracted my .rar file
Note: you will find in the folder called 'CG2-extracted' some mbn files, systemsec.mbn is the /system folder in the xt311/xt316
extract it easily using unyaffs like a system.img file, if you need help in this PM me. i can help you extracting systemsec.mbn only, i dunno about other files also to repack systemsec.mbn you'll need mkyaffs and i think it's usable on ubuntu only and i can't help you with it
sorry for long reply but press thanks if i helped.

Anytime Sir ! I just want to help in anyway getting this device better, By the way here's a list of useless applications so far !
- 7x27_FQC.apk
- Arabware.apk < 7 megabytes and useless
- Wifipowersavingmode.apk < I think it drains the battery faster -.-
- i also removed all motoswitch APKs, And installed go launcher instead in the system. And removed pre-installed live wallpapers
Also if you have errors like "preparing sd card - checking for errors" in the status bar you can delete system/bin/fsck_msdos since i deleted i get no errors for my partitioned sd card
Q/Request: Do you know how can i customize Notify led ? Like changing color and speed ? also it doesn't work with whatsapp!
Thanks anyway ! Ps. led works by Notifyled.apk.. of course you know xD
And Yeah, i found some srs files also, time ago, i thought it would be awesome to have a panel for it ! but maybe it's the normal speakers at the back and it's drivers..

Yeah, Motorola lock the bootloader, locks the customization and much more. We need a CWM. FASTER!
Edit: before 2.3 versions, Motorola odexed the roms. All of the files were odexed. But Motorola now deodexed everything. So it will be easier.
And i think we can port the CWM from XT300. So, let's try!

I didn't know that there was cwm for xt300, but i think, if there is cwm for xt530/xt531/xt532 it'd be easier to port, since xt53X is to close to our xt311/xt316 and it also have 2.3.5 while xt300 2.1 only
Edit: i think xt311/xt316 users will never have custom recoveries/roms unless the bootloader is unlocked, and it'll be so hard to unlock such bootloader since the phone is not popular

Some guys tried to do an 2ndInit to maybe try to get CWM work. But didn't worked. A file from the battery (when you turn off the phone and conntect the charger, the big battery icon) was missing. But works without this file.
AND I FOUND WHERE WE CAN ACTIVATE SRS! Is in cda.prop, it's configured to false.
So what happens if i changed the value to true ?
i don't think cda props apply actually i tried to change the value of lock screen support rotation to true and nothing changed.
And Yup i read something about that battery icon too but i didn't understand fully how does that relate to unlocking bootloader
i think the bootloader must get hacked easily since as i see it's a common bootloader in many fones for ex. xt530 xt531 xt532 xt300 xt311 xt316 xt317 or am i wrong ?
If i can test the ROM in my computer (i don't know how to do it), we see if works. And Bootloader it's not the same for every phone series. XT300 executes 2.1 WITH UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER. And XT316 with 2.3.5 WITH THE LOCKED Bootloader.
The SRS file is in the attachments. Just take a look on the 'st line:
BLOCK... I understand that is blocked.
And the battery icon maybe is on a apk or anywhere. We might look better.
EDIT:
I googled around and i found a thread that talks about CG2.smg. They tried to do the same what i doing, and didn't finish very well. The phone was bricked, but they use some files, replace and the ROM was going on very well.

i actually didn't understand what you said in the "EDIT" but i read that even with a locked bootloader we can have a custom rom, but not a custom kernel right ?
so you can recompress the edited cg2.smg files and re sbf it again after customizing it or am i saying meaningless words ?

OK. I will explain the edit first.
They edit the systemsec.mbn, repack the mbn and repack everything. but they've got an error. Then, the phone was bricked and RSD doesn't saw the phone.
A custom kernel will be pretty great, but we have to unlock the bootloader 1st.

XT316 bricked
Hello guys, sorry if this is not the best place to post a problem but, this is the only one active discussion about XT316 that i have found, i have this phone with Brazil Claro stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread Android installed, then i have installed the ChainFire3D hoping to have better experience with some games...
But i got a bricked phone... when powering on, the phone shows only the Motorola logo, then a black screen with no response, and continous reboot
I started the phone in recovery mode and tryed to perform a Factory Recover, but no sucess, same with Wipe Cache Partition option, so, what is left to do now is my question...
As those of you who own this Point of View (another chinese A 13 tablet) know, the stock 4.1 JB rom which the tablet
ships with is very slow (close to unusable if you ask me). I wonder what these chinese people actually did to the stock
rom to make it go so amazingly slow...
Here is a quick fix for those of you who would like to have a faster experience
This instructional assumes you have installed your USB drivers and have a copy of ADB.
1: BACKUP YOUR ROM (or you can find on the Point of View homepage)
2: Follow the instructions at A13 ROM JB 4.2.2 + DRIVERS and install FaaastJB v2.5 (4.2.2).
Once installed, and after first time boot, your touchscreen, camera and gsensor will NOT work. Leave the tablet on.
3: Download the attached file (TS drivers, modded script.bin and cfg files) or from this installation link.
4: Unzip the file to your ADB directory.
5. Connect your Point of View Mobii 703 via USB and execute the 'run.bat' that came with the TS modules.
6. Your tablet will reboot.
7. Congratulations! You have a fully working tablet with a much faster rom!
Working Stock P703 CWM for Faaastjb 2.5 ROM
The CWM that Faaastjb 2.5 ROM comes with is incompatible with the Point of View Mobii P703.
That is, if you reboot into recovery, you will be stuck in the dreaded CWM bootloop.
The attached file contains the CWM recovery partition image from the stock P703 JB 4.1 ROM.
This CWM works OK with the FaastJB 2.5 ROM. It does not contain as many functions as the
Faastjb CWM, but at least it works..
This instructions assumes you have installed your USB drivers and have a copy of ADB.
Instructions:
1. Your tablet must be in USB debug modus (Settings | Developer options).
2. Download and unzip the attached file to to your ADB directory.
3. Connect your Point of View Mobii 703 via USB and execute the 'run.bat' file that came with the files.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions. The recovery rom will be copied to your sdcard and flashed to the recovery nandg partition.
5. Your tablet will reboot.
If everything went well, you will have a working CWM, which makes running the Faastjb 2.5 ROM on this tablet a
more complete and safe experience.
Updated 02.01.2016. New download link added (fill in .com after megafileupload below for link to work, rules on the board..)

I am sorry, but my 703 tablet is now broken (physically), so I have no way to develop more roms for this tablet.

I am not aware of any online way to root the Mobii p7903. Did you try to flash my ROM? It is faster than the stock ROM.

Hi, can you please update the links for TS drivers and CWM, or send the attached files to me?
Either way!
Hi HTC Desire S Android experts,
Having been a member on here for years, this is my first post.
Let me start by saying that I'm not an Android expert although I've been four decades in Unix (Solaris) and Linux. I've built kernels from scratch but never tried to build an Android kernel. Anyway that hopefully gives you all a clue as to what I understand and what I don't understand.
I thought that I would try to install CM13 on my HTC Desire S but it doesn't want to play!!!
Having already done some serious hacking my starting point now is this.........
I have unlocked the bootloader.
I've installed Revolutionary S-Off, HBOOT 6.98.1002, Mar 10 2011
I've installed TWRP v2.8.7.0
I've tried to install CM13 (Marshmallow) "sagaopt" but it errors. I've tried to follow the repartitioning instructions (which I don't find very clear) to change filesystem to EXT4. After wiping is says that my SDcard should be empty but it isn't; the files are still there so I'm getting something wrong.
(I have managed to install CM12 for Saga (NOT the Sagaopt version) and it boots. I had trouble getting the virtual keyboard to work but eventually it did. I can't seem to get any Gapps zip to install, the install won't complete.)
Anyway, back to the subject of CM13 which is "sagaopt" only, can anyone give me the steps to take, especially with regards to partitioning, wiping, etc? Also, if I succeed with it, what next? Do I need to install Xposed? What Gapps zip file do I install and where can I get a compatible version for CM13 Sagaopt?
Thx in advance,
Hicksd8

You need the recovery from here to flash sagaopt roms IIRC.

Yes, that is the instructions I have been using and experiencing trouble with. I'll try it again.
Please give information how you solved difficulties. I'll probably try similar things soon. Thank you in advance

Well I tried it again with no success.
Can someone confirm for me that the ONLY difference between Saga and Sagaopt ROMs is the prerequisite partitioning and filesystem types required? ie, convert filesystems and SDcard filesystem to EXT4.
Trying to install CM13 Sagaopt complains something like "unable to execute the binary updater in the zip file". Trying to install CM12.1 Sagaopt gives exactly the same error so I guess the prerequisites are not right.
My phones are standard HTC Desire S and I assume that's okay?
I downloaded the ROMs from the Open Desire site after selecting device Desire S.
So still scratching my head on this one.
here my desire s runs now cm12.1

the sagaopt rom uses the complete internal memory for the system (for a stable rom use latest CM12.1 nightly CM13 has ram and bluetooth issues)
Preparing and updating
(Optional but useful) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679338 for new S-OFF HBOOT
(Optional but useful) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1858508 for new RADIO and Firmware (only B the rest is for a better stock 4.0.4 android)
Installing
1.Flash TWRP 2.8.7.0
2.Format SDcard ext4
3.Flash TWRP 2.8.7.1 sagaopt
4.boot recovery
5.use "adb push your-system-sagaopt.zip /sdcard/"
6.Flash it with TWRP
7.(Optional) download GAPPS pico copy it do "internal storage" and install it with TWRP
@Layer_DE...........thank you for that. Certainly upgrading to TWRP v2.8.7.1 is key.
I flashed recovery file "TWRP-recovery-sagaopt-2.8.7.1.img" and the "error executing binary updater in zip" is gone.
Yes, I'm having some issues with CM13 so will try your suggestion of CM12.1
Many thanks. I'll post back with any further issues.
@Layer_DE.......I've flashed CM12.1 and it boots. Can you tell me which gapps file you flashed please? I'm finding that whatever gapps file I flash I seem to lose the virtual keyboard function. Using just CM12.1 the virtual keyboard works fine. I'd like to get the Play Store functioning correctly and its icon on my home screen. Thanks.
opengapps.org
ARM 5.1 pico
it works fine BUT for the first app you download you need more than a hour and every appinstallation takes very long
I'll give that a go. Thanks.
sent from my HTC smartphone
Hi All,
Just thought I'd give an update on this one........
I flashed TWRP 2.8.7.1 recovery and used it to set all filesystems to type ext4.
Then installed CM12.1 no problem.
Then installed opengapps 5.1 pico as suggested. No problem.
All working fine with that. In fact extremely good. No problem installing/uninstalling apps at all.
Still can't get CM13 (Marshmallow) to work. It will install but on reboot doesn't behave.
- You had me at 'Hello'...
Hi all -
Stumbled across this Thread, only to discover the AMAZING things still being done to these ol’ HTC Battle-Axes.
My interest stems from one of these devices recently being discovered as ’tucked away’ in a draw somewhere for a rainy day, and long forgotten by my Mother.
I don’t have any prior exposure to any form of Android - ( primarily due to my hate of any/everything Google. )
However, I’m now looking to break this arrogance of mine, with this otherwise un-used and forgotten lil’ HTC.
I am particularly impressed that you guys have managed to get this beast to dance - apparently without any major issues on Lollipop/Android v5.1 - via the installation of CyanogenMod 12.1.
Looking at your list of ingredients;
Installing
1.Flash TWRP 2.8.7.0
2.Format SDcard ext4
3.Flash TWRP 2.8.7.1 sagaopt
4.boot recovery
5.use "adb push your-system-sagaopt.zip /sdcard/"
6.Flash it with TWRP
7.(Optional) download GAPPS pico copy it do "internal storage" and install it with TWRP
...all seems pretty straightforward.
( Well, straightforward enough - for me to be able to hunt around for explanations regarding what each step actually means! )
Being the ultraN00b I am, I’m curious as to how this set of instructions compares to say what the ‘official’ CyanogenMod position is;
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Saga_Info
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_saga
- Can any of you compare the ‘official’ CyanogenMod position, ( and specifically why they stop short at Gingerbread/Android v2.3.7 - via the installation of CyanogenMod 7.2 ), with what is suggested here?
- Are there any shortcomings that any of you have experienced running Lollipop/Android v5.1 , on this platform?
- How has the installation of Lollipop pulled up regarding stability? Any ‘glitches’ or ‘gremlins’ yet?
Nevertheless, I’m beyond impressed, and now pretty keen and excited to embark on my very first Android-expedition.
Thanks in advance for your responses -

the CM12.1 is very stable and only has typical android bugs (found no device specific things) and the official cm people hasn't used the kernel 3.0 source of the desire from android 4.0
for istallation:
1. download adb from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
1.1 download and install adb driver
1.2 if you use windows 8 or higher use the fastbootfix form https://opendesireproject.org
2.install adb to "C:\Windows" (pro: no path needed)
3.check android version in system settings if it is lower or lower2.3.X (if its not it could be ****ty) than check bootloader version
3.1 turn off fastboot in battery settings
3.2 power don phone
3.3 boot phone with vol down clicked and if its -REVOLUTIONARY- or if its 0.98.x s-off or 2.0X s-off go to 6
if its 0.98 s-on you go to 5
if its 2.02 ask anyone else on my desires with 2.02 s-off newer worked for me but you can try it (go to 4) or only unlock it

Hi there,
I managed to succesfully install CM13 on my girlfriends old HTC Desire S, but it's slow as hell and she keeps complaining (after refusing a more modern phone because of the bigger screens and her small hands...).
Now I'm looking for the old CM10.1 which ran fine on my old original Desire, but all the links I find are way outdated and down. Does anyone still have it?
Regards,
Markus

Try CM11 it runns very smooth and is fine (older than 4.4 isnt 100% supported by app developers)
I installed CM13 as well on my Desire S - at first it was really slow. Until I bought a faster SD card as I saw that the internal memory was emulated on the SD card. Therefore I tried it with a U3 speed SD card - now it is workable - I am happy to have cm13 installed
@schneert
What's the size of your SD Card? What do you mean by 'workable'?
@zurpher: I bought a 32Gb SD Card., therefore I have 32GB stated as internal memory. It is workable in that sense that it is fast enough to use it without very much slow issues. It is still not fast but I guess that is because of the RAM of the device.
Hi,
I recently bought a cheap tablet over Wish.com and succesfully installed CWM and rooted it with Mtk_Droid_Tool and SP_Flash_Tool (plus Super SU zip)
Unfortunately I must confess to my shame, that I kinda rushed it and didn't bother to make a full backup.
The tablet had a ad-malware preinstalled and in my attempt to delete it... well I deleted as it seems some needed apks from /system/apps.
Now the tablet does start, but doesn't react on most input ("... com.android.keyguard has stopped.").
Normal recovery and flashing with SP_Flash_Tool didn't help, as I only have saved boot.img and recovery.img.
To make things worse it doesn't connect over adb (and logically Mtk_Droid_Tool for that matter) anymore, so I'm unable to access the whole filesystem (internal storage shows in win explorer), so even if I had the needed files I couldn't get them on the device.
With my still limited knowledge I think I need a stock rom to save my device. Or a custom rom for this device (I have one from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-cm-14-1-mtk6582-7-1-1-t3603462, but well no stock to port it...)
Now after telling my sob story, heres the data I have:
(from a screenshot of Mtk_Droid_Tool taken when I rooted it)
Hardware: MT6582
Model: B960
Build number: B960_KT107H_20160828
Build date UTC: 20171012-041455
Android v: 6.0
Of course I would be very grateful if someone can help me with a stock rom, or hint me at a better solution
I, too, have the B960. I wanted to get rid of the infuriating AdChoice nonsense that keeps popping up. Now, I do not know how to pull the stock ROM from the device (yet), but I can provide you with this before I root it.
If you want to link me how to do that, I would be grateful
i have the same tablet and ive made a backup of the rom, i can send you if you want.
