[DEPRECATED] Unofficial TWRP v2.7.0.3 for m8vzw - Verizon HTC One (M8)

USE THIS INSTEAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711051
============================================================================================
Now that s-off has been released, here's a working TWRP for the Verizon M8.
FYI: Because I'm lazy I did not build this from source. I simply ported the GSM twrp and replaced the variant specific bits with our stuff. I have also not extensively tested this, so beware!
Pre-Requisites:
- s-off (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- fastboot and adb binaries (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- download this: deleted
Boot into fastboot mode:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Install the img downloaded from above:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.3-m8vzw-UNOFFICIAL.img
You may then either boot back into your rom using: fastboot reboot
or
Use the menu in the bootloader to reboot or (via the HBOOT menu) reboot into recovery

Sweet. Thanks

awesome I've been waiting for a usable TWRP. Does it actually mount external SD card so we can backup to there?

Works awesome! Thanks.

Flashed and booted fine. Did not try it out yet. Thanks for updating.

Flashed via ADB. Can backup on SD Card! Thanks InvisibleK! :good:

Reflashed using ADB this time and still just restarts TWRP when trying to backup to my external SD card. There is plenty of room before someone asks

It restarted for me when I tried to backup to SD too. Then when I enabled compression it allowed me to make a backup to my SD card no problem.

might want to check and make sure you have the drivers installed if you are on windows.
Dont have to do anything special, it starts adb when you boot into recovery.
Does the sd card mount works?

Yes, You can mount USB Storage and copy files back and forth when in Recovery. CWM cant do that. Its broken in that fashion.
Even the prior 2.17 version of twrp is broken too.
Bryan fixed it. Its the most important feature for me! (Well besides being able to use it to flash, lol)
YES!!!!!!!! Thank u so much. This makes things SO much easier. Now if I could just get root to try it

Quick question and easy fix I bet.
fastboot hangs at <waiting for a device>
But I can adb shell etc? Ideas?

[Recovery][Unofficial]TWRP 2.7.0.0 & Clockwork Recovery Touch 6.0.4.4 W/loki (D800)

[Recovery][Unofficial]TWRP 2.7.0.0 & Clockwork Recovery Touch 6.0.4.4 W/loki (D800)
Clockwork recovery touch with Loki for AT&T LG G2 (D800) Only.
TWRP recovery touch with Loki for AT&T LG G2 (D800) Only.
The only difference between official recoveries and this version is that Loki is built in to recovery.
THIS IS ONLY FOR 10d FIRMWARE. IF YOU ARE ON 10o THEN DO NOT USE!!!
You may want to flash 10d firmware. It can be found HERE with instructions. If you plan on using ROMs it is best to flash 10d firmware first.
Install Methods
Flashable Zip - Must have TWRP or whatever custom recovery already installed.
Boot into recovery and flash Recovery Zip file.
Manual Method - With no custom recovery already installed.
Must have Root first. Check HERE for root
Download the zip file to which recovery you want
Extract zip file to C:\
Open command prompt in root of C drive
You will need adb installed and properly setup in your environment variables. If not place the recovery.img wherever your adb file is located.
Type the following commands:
Code:
adb push recovery.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.img
adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp
dd if=/data/local/tmp/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
exit
exit
adb reboot recovery
Now you should be in recovery.

If you try then let us know how it worked out
Using flashify works like a charm. Just extract img file and flash using flashify. As a third alternative.

If you been flashing OEM modified ROMs on G2 the speed may have been due to the size of the ROMs.

Will I lose my twrp backups if I flash this clockwork recovery?
If not, then would I be able to restore twrp backups with cwm? May be a silly question but I never tried this and worried about losing backups.
You will not lose them until you delete them but I am not sure if you can restore twrp backups with clockwork.

Flashing was a breeze. Thanks.
Does this mount usb-otg? When I try "Mount USB Storage" nothing happens. I am pretty sure TWRP also does not yet support usb-otg. My hopes were CWM did.
Thanks
Adb side load is an alternative for Mount usb. Install Zip --> Install from adb sideload. Unfortunately this didn't work for me either. If it works for any of you guys please let me know the steps you followed. Sideload doesn't work in TWRP also.
In case of a soft brick either Mount usb or adb side load should help. Otherwise you have to go back to stock using Lg tools and start all over again.

Hey guys,
I flashed this and seem to have a problem with formatting the cache- it just stops so I cannot wipe becuase it stops at formatting cache. Anybody else experienced this before? I flashed again with same results.

CM is having a new fstab layout for a number of devices. One of these changes include a by-name partition support (instead of say mmcblk0p33 called as "system"). you need this recovery to flash CM from today, and probably all 4.4.2 ROMs soon
That's the major change...other than that: adb fixes (big issue for me while trying to pull kmesg logs for Sense 6 building :fingers-crossed, LED fixes, dual core support, fix of backup and restoration of encrypted backups

Help. Deleted OS. Best way to get it back?

So, long story short, I mistakely deleted EVERYTHING from my G3. I can still get into TWRP, but that is about it. I thought I could load a flashable zip file onto an external sd card and flash an os through TWRP, but that doesn't seem to be working. Do I need to use adb to sideload through TWRP? Any body done this before?
Thanks
