Yes, You can mount USB Storage and copy files back and forth when in Recovery. CWM cant do that. Its broken in that fashion.
Even the prior 2.17 version of twrp is broken too.
Bryan fixed it. Its the most important feature for me! (Well besides being able to use it to flash, lol)

YES!!!!!!!! Thank u so much. This makes things SO much easier. Now if I could just get root to try it

This is fanfriggingtastic thank you....you all are awesome

Oh dang this is great. adb in TWRP was hit or miss for me at best...it's good to know that there's another option now.

Quick question and easy fix I bet.
fastboot hangs at <waiting for a device>
But I can adb shell etc? Ideas?

Flashable zip
CWM/TWRP Flashable zip attached.
Edit:
Also, tested and everything is working swimmingly (backup, restore, USB mount, adb)

OP Tested and works for me.

Awsome!! Thanks!

Thank you! working awesome and a much needed feature (was super annoying to have to boot up the phone in order to transfer files that i want to flash from recovery anyways)

To run ADB do you have to be in any particular mode in recovery? I am on the initial screen and tried to do adb devices and it doesnt show my device.

might want to check and make sure you have the drivers installed if you are on windows.
Dont have to do anything special, it starts adb when you boot into recovery.
Does the sd card mount works?

Put the boot.img in the same PC folder that u have the fastboot.exe program in. Turn on USB debugging on your phone. Make sure drivers are installed and reboot phone into bootloader. Plug phone into PC and push the power button to go into fastboot. Open cmd window on PC. Navigate to the folder containing fastboot and the boot.img (ex: cd C:\Android\platform-tools)
Then type the following command in cmd window
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot phone

"-Flash Boot.img via fastboot
-Install Zydroid Base
-Boot into Android"
if you could clarify a bit,it'd be great man, thanks!

First I recommend you install TWRP recovery. This will take away the need to fast boot flash boot.img separately. You can install TWRP by getting Beta Goo Manager app from play store and using it to install twrp.
Next you download Axiom S 1.5 and flash it. Go to Goo Manager find compatible roms, choose "itsmikeramsey" and you will see Axiom S 1.5 download and also "add ons" downloads.
Download rom zip and choose add on. I suggest an eqs battery % ics.zip. It will give you ICS blue theme. Then flash using Goo manager. Make sure rom zip gets flashed first.
They mention Zydroid base because the Axiom S 1.5 Mdj overclocked kernel has some bugs so just find Axiom stock kernel(same as Zydroid) and flash it also.
I hope this is clear enough. One thing you must do when learning to flash roms is to research as much as you can and follow steps. GL

[Q] I hope I didn't brick my phone

I'm new to android and really hope I didn't pooch my phone.
I tried installing Jelly Bean and now can't do much of anything. I can get into bootloader and load up team windows recovery (not sure what to do in there)
When I am in fastboot and try through a command prompt adb devices doesn't list the HTC One X (Rogers, Canada)
I really am not sure what to do. I have downloaded a ton of stuff nothing seems to make a difference (HTC drivers, img and zip files..) I think it boils down to getting some direction on what troubleshooting to do with the exact files I would need to use.
flash a rom in recovery ofcourse.
adb doesnt work in hboot only fastboot. your phone is fine. you need to copy the rom zips to your sdcard. then go to install inside recovery. you can mount your sdcard inside recovery also so you can copy stuff. you should still be able to reboot the system normal and have it boot fine. unlocking and flashing recovery doesnt wipe your phone.

[Recovery][Unofficial]TWRP 2.7.0.0 & Clockwork Recovery Touch 6.0.4.4 W/loki (D800)

[Recovery][Unofficial]TWRP 2.7.0.0 & Clockwork Recovery Touch 6.0.4.4 W/loki (D800)
Clockwork recovery touch with Loki for AT&T LG G2 (D800) Only.
TWRP recovery touch with Loki for AT&T LG G2 (D800) Only.
The only difference between official recoveries and this version is that Loki is built in to recovery.
THIS IS ONLY FOR 10d FIRMWARE. IF YOU ARE ON 10o THEN DO NOT USE!!!
You may want to flash 10d firmware. It can be found HERE with instructions. If you plan on using ROMs it is best to flash 10d firmware first.
Install Methods
Flashable Zip - Must have TWRP or whatever custom recovery already installed.
Boot into recovery and flash Recovery Zip file.
Manual Method - With no custom recovery already installed.
Must have Root first. Check HERE for root
Download the zip file to which recovery you want
Extract zip file to C:\
Open command prompt in root of C drive
You will need adb installed and properly setup in your environment variables. If not place the recovery.img wherever your adb file is located.
Type the following commands:
Code:
adb push recovery.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.img
adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp
dd if=/data/local/tmp/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
exit
exit
adb reboot recovery
Now you should be in recovery.

If you been flashing OEM modified ROMs on G2 the speed may have been due to the size of the ROMs.

Will I lose my twrp backups if I flash this clockwork recovery?
If not, then would I be able to restore twrp backups with cwm? May be a silly question but I never tried this and worried about losing backups.
You will not lose them until you delete them but I am not sure if you can restore twrp backups with clockwork.

Does this mount usb-otg? When I try "Mount USB Storage" nothing happens. I am pretty sure TWRP also does not yet support usb-otg. My hopes were CWM did.
Thanks
Adb side load is an alternative for Mount usb. Install Zip --> Install from adb sideload. Unfortunately this didn't work for me either. If it works for any of you guys please let me know the steps you followed. Sideload doesn't work in TWRP also.
In case of a soft brick either Mount usb or adb side load should help. Otherwise you have to go back to stock using Lg tools and start all over again.

Hey guys,

[DEPRECATED] Unofficial TWRP v2.7.0.3 for m8vzw

USE THIS INSTEAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711051
============================================================================================
Now that s-off has been released, here's a working TWRP for the Verizon M8.
FYI: Because I'm lazy I did not build this from source. I simply ported the GSM twrp and replaced the variant specific bits with our stuff. I have also not extensively tested this, so beware!
Pre-Requisites:
- s-off (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- fastboot and adb binaries (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- download this: deleted
Boot into fastboot mode:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Install the img downloaded from above:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.3-m8vzw-UNOFFICIAL.img
You may then either boot back into your rom using: fastboot reboot
or
Use the menu in the bootloader to reboot or (via the HBOOT menu) reboot into recovery
Sweet. Thanks
