Low Battery Light - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With the moto g if you have low battery a red light appears near the proximity sensor So can people mod it for notification use or do something with it thank you

As far as i know moto g has only unicolor led and that is conposed of white color only. Might be some preproduction unit had rgb led but commercially available moto g are embedded with white led only - as reported by number of users aroubd globe.

The proximity sensor works with a weak red light, maybe that is what you see in a really dark place.

HTC Notification Light

Hi.
Just got my Sensation today and have been setting it up etc. In all the excitement, I didn't notice until now, the notification light on my handset flashes behind the speaker, next to the front camera. Am I correct in thinking that the circle on the left of the speaker is the notification light and that's what should be flashing (when charging, message received etc)?
Faulty handset?

Nope. If you check the manual, that circle on the left is the light sensor and there is one in the screen under that one, that's the proximity sensor.
notification light
Red LED lights is on on mi desire non-stop working without any problems, how to turn off the light?
Hi you turn off notification lights by going into settings, display, notifications led, uncheck all you want to stop blinking.. this should do the trick . It will only blink during changing now

Led notification color

Does notification led in the moto g blinks in different colors or just white?
Just white.
But do you know if it's software or hardware limited? I always thought that led lights in smartphones could blink in any colour.
Hardware limited.
defy is colorful, g is white

Thats the proximity sensor. Try restarting the phone or make a call and use the sensor, it might turn off.

led notification

I have Motorola droid maxx (xt1080) device running android 4.4.4. I purchased this second hand device few days ago in karachi. Its led notification is not working. Some sites says that this set does not have led notification led and some sites say that it do have a notification light. I have gone through the manual of this phone and found that this phone does have a notification led that works in low battery.
Does after rooting this device and installing the above program will switch the notification light on? And is there any way to root android 4.4.4 version?
Thanks

Have you tried making full factory reset?
The only way to get fully functional root access at the moment on 4.4.4 is bootloader unlocking. I prefer you to go across fully reading Moto Droid Ultra forum to prevent asking silly questions.
Droid maxx actually does have a led (green only) but it is not usable for notifications, it can only be used to show charging status (charging / fully charged). And you would need root.
here is the application:

Today I suddenly find out a flashing purple light in my droid maxx. I was taking pictures of my mobile through another mobile camera and found a purple light flashing on it. after I connected charger to mobile. That light turned to green so I think that is the notification light in droid maxx.
Thank you for your replies to my post

This is quite an interesting post.
I have also read about the notification LED being present, but never found any lights coming ON on my Droid Maxx. I had purchased it brand new.
I have bootloader unlocked and I am rooted. Still on 4.4.
I can try some app from playstore and see if it turns on the LED (though I find Active Display as a good replacement to notification LED).
i'm using Driod maxx 32Gb in setting it says xt1080 not 1080M. so what is this i mean it is ultra or Maxx?? this M
if you are rooted on xt1080(which is now possible) you can use
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-ultra/themes-apps/app-led-control-motorola-devices-t3043252
i checked this and its working fine

For some reason it's both. The casing is printed XT1080, I believe that the software says XT1080, but technically the Maxx is XT1080M. The only major differences are battery size, storage size (though the newer Maxxes are 16 GB), and wireless charging is Maxx only.
@dooglad you know any app that show battery capacity in mah, like 3500 mah most of the apps that i downloaded shows values in mv .

Take another mobile or laptop webcam and hold your mobile in front of it. Then you will see a small purplish light showing on left side of your mobile. Below is the picture of this mobile and here you can find a light in the left side of the mobile.

That is not a purple led, but the infrared proximity sensor, the infrared is visible as purple on cameras (test your TV remote, you will also see a purple light)
As already mentioned, the droid maxx has got a green led only, but that is not usable for notifications as it will only work when plugged into charger.
Ok.thanks for sharing this information

Red dot on the upper right

Hey,
I have bought myself an Xperia XZ today and I noticed a kind of red dot blinking on the light sensor, I guess near the light sensor. Is there a way to disable it? Since it's a bit annoying

It's the ambient light sensor (infrared)

You can remove it if you disable adaptive brightness in the screen settings
