[Guide] Win7/8 Usb Drivers Installation for Sp tool - Micromax Canvas Magnus A117

Hi Guys,
I am writing this tutorial on how to install usb drivers for sp tools on pc for our Magnus device. I and my friends struggled a lot in installing these drivers so this is to help my other friends.
This will help even if you are not getting any popup or phone in device manager list.
Below are the steps, will also attach screen shots to make it easy.
1.Go to Control Panel and open Device Manager
2.Right click and select Add legacy hardware (also can be from from Action menu)
3.Add hardware wizard will be opened, click next
4.Select "Install hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)"
5.Click next and click Have Disk option
6.Click browse and find where your driver .inf file is (download from the link attached at end of post), then select it. (I selected usb2ser_Win764.inf, select usb2ser_Win7.inf if its 32-bit)
7.Click Open/Ok You will see drivers listed... Select your driver there and click next and finish installing. I have used Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port.
8. Hit that thanks button on left
For Windows 8.
If you are getting error like: “The third party INF does not contain digital signature information”, you need to disable Driver signature enforcement in windows.
1. Open the Charms Bar, select “Settings” --> “Change PC Settings” --> select General
2. Scroll to the bottom of the General page and select “Restart Now” under “Advanced Start-Up”
3. Once the PC comes back up, select “Troubleshoot”
4. Select “Advanced Options”, select “Start-Up Settings” and select the Restart button
5. Press the F7 key (or the number 7 key) from your computer keyboard. This disables the Driver Signature Enforcement, which will allow you to install unsigned drivers.
After the PC reboots, install the drivers normally.

Will try

Micromax a78!! Rooted!!!!

MICROMAX A78 ROOTED!!!
Guys!!! Micromax a78!! rooted!!!
So, here are the steps on getting root access on MICROMAX A78-
What you need
1. MICROMAX A78, data usb cable.
2. Download the Rooted Boot image file from the attachment below this post.
3. Download SP Flash Tool v2.1 from HERE.
4. Download MTK65xx Driver from HERE.
5. Download the MTK6573 Scatter.txt file from the attachment below this post.
6. Lastly download SuperOneClick root application for windows (search google), and install it...it will also install the adb drivers needed while rooting.
Installation Steps-
1. Unzip and Install the MTK65xx USB drivers on your Windows PC, just run setup.exe.
Connect your phone switched off and connect using USB cable. Windows will recognize and install the MTK drivers for your phone (any free COM ports) will be configured. Disconnect the phone. Do not switch on the phone
2. Copy the "rootedboot.img" file that you downloaded from my attatchment. Rename it to be boot.img
4. Extract and run SP flash Tool.exe (the one with Blue image icon)
5. Click on Options, check USB mode.
6. Click on Scatter-loading button which is on the right side below Downloading Agent. A window will open. Browse to your downloaded scatter.txt file. By default you will have only one map file of name MT6573_Android_scatter. Select this
7. The flash tool will populate the Map file on the application window. You will see multiple Entries such as
PRELOADER
DSP_BL
MBR
etc etc. Each will have a check box which is by default checked.
8. UNCHECK all entries EXCEPT FOR "BOOT". Leave boot checked. Now click on the "BOOT" just right to the checkbox and browse and select the boot.img (which was earlier rootedboot.img) file you downloaded from the attachment below.
9. Now click on "Download" on the Application or press F9 on keyboard. Warning messages will occur, but ignore them..
10. You will see in the status bar below "Searching"
11. Connect your phone (switched off and with battery inserted) via the USB cable.
12. Flash tool will do its stuff. First a red progress bar, then a count down, a quick yellow progress bar and final window showing Green Circle.
If you get this then Congrats You have flashed the unlocked boot.img!
NOW FOR ACTUAL ROOTING:
1. Restart your phone, now when the phone boots up, enable "usb debugging".
2. Now run SuperOneClick, and click "root"..after the process finishes, the a78 will be fully rooted with Superuser app installed!!.
Check by installing root checker from play store!!!
Enjoy !
Warning - Please follow the instructions. Don't mess around with anything else. Not responsible if you do anything else and brick your device !
In case you get any other error on SP Flash Tool, then recheck your MTK driver installation. Try on another PC.
Credits!

[GUIDE] Installing an unsigned driver in Windows 8 (x64)

Hello Guys,
I had a little trouble back there Installing the fastboot drivers with Windows 8 x64 system.
It looks like Windows 8 Only Installs the driver after verification on signature check.
I solved the problem after much reading... thought a guide would help others.
In case if you are facing the same problem, follow the steps below.
______________________________________________________________________________________
The steps to install a unsigned driver on windows 8 is as follows.
1. From windows 8 control panel choose General –> Under “Advanced Startup” –> Restart now.
Now the system will restart and might take some minutes to show up the boot menu. Wait for It patiently.
After some time you will be prompted with a menu with following options.
1. Continue
2. Troubleshoot
3. Turn off
Choose Troubleshoot
Then the following menu appears.
Refresh your PC
Reset your PC
Advanced Options
Choose Advanced Options
Then the following menu appears
System Restore
System Image Recovery
Automatic Repair
Command Prompt
Windows Startup settings
Choose Windows Startup Settings, then Click Restart.
Now the computer will restart and the boot menu appears.
Choose “Disable Driver signature Enforcement” from the menu.
Now windows will start and you can do the installation of the driver that is not signed.
thank you! used the guide for another driver but worked :good:
This guide needs update. It should be on the side bar click settings. Then at the bottom click pc settings. The option is not in control panel

Is this still valid in Windows 8.1?
After installation of the driver, will it stay installed?
Means: After reboot, will it still be useable or do I have to choose “Disable Driver signature Enforcement” again?

Found some working link tried this guide
http://androidurdu.net/download-mt65xx-android-drivers-windows-7-vista-xp-x86-x64-amd/
if it help tell me
Yes it does support Windows 8.1
I flashed some MT65xx devices using Windows 8.1 using SP Flash Tool
But in order to install the drivers you have to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows.
You can find numerous tutorials on the internet teaching you how to do that with pictures. Use Google
but here's an easy way :
1) Put your mouse on the upper right corner so the menu appears.
2) Choose Settings.
3) While holding the SHIFT button on your keyboard , use your mouse to choose Power then Restart.
4)Choose Troubleshoot --> Advanced Options --> Startup Settings --> Restart.
5) After your computer restarts and shows you a list of options press F7 on your keyboard.
6) Wait until it boots and then install MTK drivers you can do that by connecting the device then opening device manager and clicking right click update ..choose browse ..and browse to your MTK drivers directory then click next.
I don't think he was asking for the tutorials, but for the actual drivers!

Vonino Jax X - flashing stock rom with instructions [Tested]

This is not a question but instructions on how to flash this very rare phone (I could not find anything about this anywhere)
basically the company who makes it actually provides all the files but they are not easy to find
if you know what to do.. the ftp is located here
ftp://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/
if you don't, continue on..
1. download the USB drivers and install them (sounds easier than it actually is)
here are some instructions from the company but they are in romanian
ftp://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmwar...MTK/Vonino procedura actualizare software.pdf
but I can break it down for you (if you are on windows 10 x64 like): (info from here with some changes)
1.1 disable Windows 10 - 64 bit driver signature enforcement
- Click on Start then on Settings
- Click on Update & security then in the left pane click on Recovery
- Under Advanced startup click on Restart now button (you might wanna write the next parts on paper)
- Click on Troubleshoot then on Advanced options
- Click on Startup Settings then on Restart button
- The computer will restart with the Startup Settings screen
- To disable the driver signature enforcement until next restart press on number key 7 or F7 on your keyboard.
- wait for windows to start ..
1.2 install MTK VCOM USB Drivers
(I actually did this two times and will explain the two methods)
- download drivers from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087012126 and extract to a folder (1)
- download drivers from here http://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/01_GENERAL_DRIVERS_FOR_MTK/ (Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1228.00.rar) and extract to a folder (2)
ALTERNATIVELY to this next section you can just right click the inf file and click install.
- go to device manager (in w10 u can right click the start button and select it from the list)
- here select your computer THEN go to Action -> add legacy hardware
- On the Welcome to the Add hardware Wizard window click on Next button
- Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and then click on Next button
- Click on Show All Devices then on Next button
- In the Add Hardware window click on Have Disk… button
- In the Install From Disk windows click on Browse… button
- In the next window – Locate file – browse for the folder (1) that you have extracted on the desktop at the beginning
- Select the version of the driver according to your Windows 10 version – for 64 its "Windows 10 x64 MTK USB Drivers" (for 32 its Windows 10 x86 MTK USB Drivers)
- Click the OK button to load the driver
- From the list of drivers select MTK USB Port and click on Next button
- If a red warning window will open, click on Install this driver software anyway
- Now remove the device that was installed but leave the drivers in the operating system. (To do that in the Device Manager window expand Ports (COM & LPT) section, Right-click and click Uninstall on the MTK USB Port, making sure in the Confirm Device Uninstall window, that the box Delete the driver software for this device is empty)
- do this again for the other driver
- just this time browse for this folder Driver_Auto_Installer\SmartPhoneDriver\x64\Infs\ (or x86...)
- and select this file: usbvcom.inf
- then pick the first item.. DA USB VCOM Port
2. Download SP-Flash-Tool from ftp://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/02_GENERAL_FLASH_KIT/SP-Flash-Tool-v5.1532.00.rar or http://tehnotone.com/download-sp-flash-tool-v3-v5-latest-versions/ and extract it
3. Download the latest stock ROM here
http://ftp.vonino.org/public/Firmware/Vonino_Smartphones/Jax_X/
- extract the contents of the zip file to a folder !
4. Flash the phone (https://androidmtk.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool)
so in order to do the actual flash
- turn off the phone and remove the battery (dont attach any cables to it yet)
- open flash_tool.exe
- select Firmware upgrade from the dropdown
- browse for the Download Agent and select the MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin in the SP-Flash-Tool folder.
- click on the Scatter-loading button and browse for the MT6580_Android_scatter.txt file located in the rom folder you extracted.
- click on the Download button
- connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable (with or without battery but it should be turned off)
- press the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time (I think this is optional, just wait and see if the download starts if not press the buttons)
- leave it to upload the new firmware, once its done a green button will appear
- close the flash tool and disconnect the cable
- start the phone and wait (for me it took about 7 minutes) but this will only happen the first time
hope this helps
ps: related to how I got into this predicament, if you gonna root your phone using Kingroot (it will work) DONT use SuperSuMe to try to remove Kingroot but keep root just coz the adds in the lock screen annoy you, it will boot loop your phone..
ps2: I hope Kingroot and all the other chineseroot ***** go bankrupt .. trying to brick my phone ..
Thank you so much. It wasnt easy but it worked perfect. Thank you for very detailed instructions it helped a lot. God bless you!
Can this phone support Android 7? I saw on the chinese shops that android 7 is rolling out on some MTK devices with 1GB of RAM?
