Broken Tablet recycle - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
Hopefully this is in the right section (kind of a forum noob here ). Anyway, let's get to the problem.A while ago, I received as a gift a tablet, specifically a Nordmende ND-8014rk. It's probably a rebrand. Unfortunately, I broke the screen; everything seems to work and I can use it if I connect a USB mouse. The problem is, it seems to be impossible to repair. The manufacturer doesn't reply to my email nor answer the phone and all the places I asked said they didn't have spare parts. I have also searched myself for spare parts, but with no luck.
That said, I thought of connecting the tablet to the tv and using as a Media Center since it also as a full size USB port. Problem is, I don't know how to control it. I could use mouse and keyboard, but it's not really comfortable from the couch. So I tried using TabletRemote(free on the PlayStore) but the keyboard does not work.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
P.S.: excuse my english, it's not my native language

[SOLVED] [Xoom 2] Connect portable HD without external PW: will it ever be possible?

Hi guys,
I´m very new to all this and I don´t really know whether or not this may be possible in the future.
I have the Xoom 2 10.1" Wifi, I´ve already rooted my device, installed "USB mass storage", and purchased this adapter:
amazon uk, "gp/product/B006R0XOLO/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details"
(Sorry, I cannot post links yet!)
It works fine with a USB pen, but as soon as I connect my portable HD it freezes immediately, as described here (around 9:30):
youtube, "watch?v=nWvaH-If83Q"
I´d like to be able to use my Xoom to download pictures and videos on the go, so the external powered USB mentioned in the previous video is not a valid solution for me.
I understand is a power issue, but I don´t really know if with the proper kernel (?), a different cable, or some other way I may ignore, this will be possible some day. I would really appreciate some input.
Thanks a lot.

I have found that the newest HDDs (a brand new USB3 Passport) works fine without external power while my smaller 1st generation Passport lights up but doesn't spin.
That´s great news for me, thanks a lot!
The portable HD I tried it´s at least a couple of years old, so that may be the issue. Could you please post a link or at least the exact model you purchased? (I wouldn´t like to purchase the wrong model...).
I just noticed, though, that your signature says "Motorola Xoom", not Xoom 2, I wonder if the all device may be possible to power it up while the new one may not??
I realize the Xoom 2 is not a very popular device, but I´m still quite worried about such a positive feature being consistently ignored, if someone did actually got it to work...
two possibilities:
a) buy a hdd that draws less power upon spinup
b) try to make your own "external" power source from maybe one or two 18650 Li-Ion batteries and a dc/dc-converter. Make that provide power to your hdd and only connect the data-leads to your xoom. Might work, but ask someone who really knows about this stuff before frying your hd/xoom/car/etc.

I´d love to! But I´d like to know beforehand if it works, before I spend my money. Do you happen to know which brands/models draw the least amount of power??

I have no idea how to do this, and I don´t know anyone who has done it. The possibility of "frying" my brand new device doesn´t sound too enticing, either. On top of that, the idea of lugging around even more cables/devices to power the Xoom up makes the whole idea of the tablet less than ideal, for my needs. I rather purchase that one "good" HD, if such a thing exists...
IT WORKED!
I´m going to be writing a new post about it, so people can find it more easily.
Stay tuned!

[Q] Left trackpad button slightly loose + Flash on ICS

Hello everyone,
My apologies if this has been asked earlier, but I could not find any such question on the forum.
I got my TF101 with docking station this week and the only hardware issue that I've seen is that the left trackpad button is slightly loose. i.e. I can hear a proper click if I click the trackpad button bar on the right, but if I do the same on the left side, I dont get that feel. Has anyone else experienced that?
My supplier is happy to replace the whole unit but I don't want to pay for the postage charges (which I will have to if supplier finds this as a non-fault). Maybe I'm being too picky about it.
Another question that I wanted to ask was about flash working on ICS. I've looked at existing threads and wiped, uninstalled and reinstalled flash but it still does not work. Please note that youtube works fine in all browsers (Chrome, stock, dolphin HD ), but I cannot play any streaming movies which I can on my Desire HD. I get a lego icon instead. Any help is highly appreciated.
I gather that its just a defective unit as nobody else has had this problem.

[Q] Note 10.1 + Bluetooth Keyboard&Mouse

Hello!
I have one question that I could not find answer on internet. I have note 10.1 and have been using BT keyboard - Canyon, and it has been working flawless with a bit disconnect here and there. But recently I have bought BT Mouse - HP and it works just great. But when they are both connected at same time they both misbehave a lot. If I use mouse my keyboard just dc and it won't respond unless I hit few keys and sometimes keyboard lags/button stuck like "dddddddd...." untill my mouse dc. When my mouse dc keyboard is fine once again and this apply to vise versa but with mouse it is not responded well like move around for 2s late...
So now my question is if there is any program or script that will help with this situation? I know tablets aren't made to be used as PC but on college my battery last for like 9-10 hours while others with laptops cant get 3-5 hours full writting. I can even play games and my battery wont be below 30% when I get home. I have rooted ofc and I am using android revolution HD 9.0 since it is most polished. I dont wanna go to other android stock roms cuzz s-pen does not work well. I do not use pen often but heck, if I have it I want it to work perfect.
I hope someone had similiar situation and had it fixed.
Cheers
I have the same problem. I did not find a solution to bluetooth interference either... so I am thinking to move to usb based keyboard and mouse for better user experience.

Yeq but i want BT i was checking utube for some tips. All i have got is that some brands dont have problem. Most problem cause microsoft products with android on other hand ms mouse is better...so yeah hope someone can help.
Cheers
I have found a way to help it. I bought external keyboard helper for 2€ and it works amazing now. I have also tryed Null keyboard which is free and it basicly just hides ur onscreen eyboard from appearing. Guess this was the problem.
I hope someone will also fix their issue with this 2 apps. Cheers
It's those devices. I have several BT Keyboards and Mice and they work perfectly together. There's no app that can really do anything about stuttering mice or duplicate letters, as the issue is in the RF layer of the BT protocol.

[Q] USB Endoscope Driver For Android phones

Hi.
I hope this is a suitable place for this topic, if not please direct me.
This is about what I see as a sorely needed Android mobile phone driver.
Devices like this have become dirt cheap, but to use one you still have the lug around a laptop or a tablet. So when you need to go delving into the innards of something, you'd better hope you've got your laptop/tablet with you. But everyone has a mobile phone with them all the time.
I've searched extensively for a driver that will allow one of these USB cable Enderscope devices to be plugged into a mobile phone and viewed on-screen, using the phone's screen as a viewer.
There are any number of tradespeople alone who would love to have something like this.
Could this be done?
Would it be difficult?
Are any of you developers interested?

ASUS TF103CG almost newly bought, but..

Hey there!
I bought an ASUS machine, and im wondering why the tablet can move in the keyboard docked? Am i the only one, or is this normal?
alexy92:- Hi we're seeing that you're having some issues with your tablet and we'd love to see how best we can help. Once connected securely to the keyboard dock there should be very little movement if not any at all. If you've securely connected the tablet and are still experiencing this issue then we suggest contacting us at [email protected] with the serial number of the tablet and if possible a picture of the issue.
I've got answer from the support from my country, that said its tottally normal, and i must not have to worry. Anyway, thanks for you respond, If it will be move more, i will call for help!
