[Q] [HTC One, Google Play Edition] (bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!! - General Questions and Answers

Hey, everyone:
I recently succesfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted an AT&T HTC One, but am now having trouble with an HTC One, Google Play Edition.
I'm not too sure if it's the same concept, but every time type ./fastboot oem get_indentifier_token, I receieve a (bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!! message. I've read it may have something to do with an outdated HBOOT?
Does anyone have any advice on getting this to work? Should I try from step one?
Thanks.

Try "fastboot oem unlock"
No need to submit token to HTC, this is a google edition phone
Hope this helps!

Thanks Klown for the response!
I tried your method and got this message in response:
(bootloader) [PG_ERROR] htc_pg_part_traverse(839):

(bootloader) [PG_ERROR] htc_pg_part_read(1029):

(bootloader) [DISPLAY_ERR] sp_custom partition: unlock_disp_buf.img_buf r
(bootloader) ead error!

Advice? Thanks again, man.

Oh, and maybe I should also mention that I'm working from an Apple computer.

Is it an actual original Google Edition or is it a converted?
If you boot into bootloader, what is your hboot version?

It is the official Google Edition (purchased from the Google Play Devices shop online), and the HBOOT is 1.54.

flash an RUU - go into hboot and find out what ROM version you were running before (by using fastboot getvar mainversion) then find an RUU with the same or higher version number and download then run it.

Hi,
I am not sure why you are trying to flash the PG58IMG
Can you not change the text file in the PG58IMG and then run the RUU from your PC.
Make sure your phone is in fastboot, then connect your USB cable,(it should say "fastboot USB" ) then, run the RUU.

Hi,
You do not need to extract the PG58IMG
Just open it,change it,and close it.
It remains zipped, and you can run the RUU.

Okay let me start from the top, where exactly do I find this PG58IMG.zip? Thanks.
Btw another question, is there a way for me to charge my phone because my battery says its below 30% if I try to install an RUU
Paste the output for
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Remove the IMEI number & serial number from the output.
I'll link you to the right RUU or tell you what else you can try.
For now, don't do anything else.
You cannot flash a modified RUU because you are S-ON; so changing the android-info file will not help.

I don't think there is any O2 ICS RUU let alone 3.32 & you're S-ON, so can't flash a lower RUU.
But fortunately, all is not lost. Let's try this.
Please type these commands one after the other & paste the whole output for everything:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
It's okay if any of them fail, you must execute all three commands one after the other & paste the output.

HTC One SV In boot loop

Hi all,
I've a friends HTC One that is stuck in a boot loop cycle, and I'm trying to fix it for them. I have unlocked the device via htcdev.com.
Action: Power on device
Observe: "HTC quietly brilliant" boot logo. Logo remains on screen for approx 10 seconds, then screen goes black and logo reappears. Repeat x n.
I started by following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113671
However, I can't "Move the Superuser.zip to somewhere on your phone's SD card". The device is never recognised as a storage device.

However, if I enter the bootloader and select "Recovery" I'll see the HTC boot screen with "Entering Recovery" at the top. This screen never changes.
I've tried both the CyanGenMod recovery file and the TeamWin file. Both give the same results.
Any advice?

@captainbadger
Please, for future reference, post all questions over at the HTC One SV Q&A section. Unless specific questions pertain to specific threads created by specific members. But for general purposes as this one, it would most certainly go to where I have just mentioned above. No pun intended to you. Just want to keep this stuff clean and organized over at our forum.
However, since you have already created this one, just stick with it. No need for duplicates.
Contact a mod and request one of them to move it.
Thanks

Yea, mine doesn't say that lol. Is it a bright orange rear cover with big black HTC letters in the center? If not, then your device is definitely not a One SV.

lol what questions are these? Is an One SV with bootloader 2.21 and the CID is Orange as it means is Orange branded from East Europe. You no see k2_ul on bootloader info?
Try "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot after flashed the recovery I posted and reboot again into recovery.

Nope, it's a white rear cover with black recessed text "htc" in the middle.
ETA: It looks exactly like this:
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/htc-one-sv-1120380/review
/cul-de-sac
fastboot getvar all output says, it is k2ul
I saw the K2_UL but that doesn't mean anything. If something wrong was flashed, that could have been easily altered and therefore misleading. That's why I took notice of the cid number. In addition, I am unaware of an HTC One SV with a white rear cover, so if anyone wishes to clarify this, then please do
Edit: just noticed the shared link. Well, regardless, I am unfamiliar with our device having that cid number. Though, if confirmed that it does, then I will take note of that for future referencing.

Flushing the cache doesn't make any difference.
I still get stuck at the screen with "Entering Recovery..." in pink over the normal HTC boot logo.
Procedure is to flush cache, then on the device select "Bootloader" (bootloader seems to reload I guess) the select "Recovery".

When you boot in to the bootloader, it immediately checks your sdcard for certain files. Then it disappears just as quickly as it came. Can you confirm that it shows one of them saying, PL80IMG.zip? (Sorry, want to ask, because I personally believe your device isn't what you think it is)(and if I am wrong, well, better safe than sorry is all I can say lol).

[HELP] HTC Sensation 4G Bricked?

Hi all! I have a bricked HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) that I am trying to fix.
I need help with RUUing the HTC Sensation 4G. (Z710e)
I believe I have tried everything, all without luck, please help, TIA.
Heres the problem with the phone- It appears to be stuck in a bootloop, boots up to the white HTC screen, makes the HTC startup chime with Quietly Brilliant written under it, and then immediately reboots, and continuously does this over and over again.
Heres what I know about the phone
The Bootloader is Locked
The Phone is S-ON
The CID of the phone is HTC__621
Here's what I've tried
I have tried RUUing the phone with RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_TMOUS_3.32.531.14_Radio_11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2_release_256085_signed.exe
since it is a T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G. However I keep getting Error 130: Model ID error.
I also tried RUUing the phone manually using CMD, following the guide however this failed aswell, I kept getting "remote: 12 signature verify fail" at the end.
I also tried renaming extracting the rom.zip from the RUU, renaming that to PG58IMG.zip, placing that on my sd card and booting the phone into bootloader. However when I tried this it said checking PG158.img, but nothing happened, it just continued to boot up to the bootloader.
At this point I realized maybe that this RUU didn't match my CID, which was why it was failing. So I tried opening the ROM.zip file however it said it was corrupt in windows explorer. I then tried redownloading the RUU but it still kept saying ROM.zip was corrupt. I then opening ROM.zip with winrar and it opened up! I then opened android-info.text and saw that the cidnum for the RUU was T-MOB0101. I tried changing this to my CID (HTC__621) and then saving as instructed in this guide, however when I pressed on YES to update the files in the archive, winrar gives an error and says that the archive is corrupt, and does not update android-info.text.
I am not sure what else to try at this point, and I am stumped as to why none of the following methods I've tried worked. Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there anything I'm missing? Any help would be very gladly appreciated, as I am out of ideas.
Also worth noting, I've attached 2 pictures below as attachements to this post, (since I am new to xdadevelopers I cannot post direct links to images), one of the bootloader of the phone, including information such as my hboot version, radio version, etc. in case its needed.
I've also attached a picture below of what happens when I put the phone into HTC stock android recovery and press Factory Data Wipe/Reset. I get a bunch of errors, I'm not sure if this is related to anything but it doesn't look normal, so I attached a picture of it below.
Thanks in advance!

You can access bootloader so no problems here. Unlock bootloader through htcdev. In fastboot mode flash latest 4ext recovery, enable smartflash in settings, then flash a custom rom. You can also try Android Revolution HD rom if you prefer a stock look.

Thanks for the info! However I just tried unlocking the bootloader through htcdev but I keep getting an error at the end "Unlock token check failed". You can see this in the picture I attached below of the command prompt window. Any ideas? Strange... Make sure you copy and paste right from the beginning to the end. You can also try to move your adb/fastboot folder somewhere else for example to the desktop and try resubmitting the token from there. (Might sound stupid but works sometimes). If not, you need to find the right RUU for your device and RUU it, then follow this guide for s-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26280760 there are some devices htcdev unlock doesn't work unfortunately... Otherwise I have no other idea, sorry. Somebody might be able to help.

Thanks again for your response, I just did it again this time with my fastboot folder on the desktop, however I still got the same error. How would I find the right RUU for my device? It is an american HTC Sensation 4G from T-Mobile with its CID: HTC__621. I haven't been able to find another RUU for it other than the one I used as previously mentioned in my original post. If anyone has the link to the right RUU I could use for this device, it would be really helpful. Thanks again.

Your firmware version (3.33.709.6) is an Asian one. Try downloading this ruu and run it: http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...0U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_266490_signed.exe
Edit: and delete your serial and imei number from your post!

Hi, thanks again for your help! The RUU completed successfully this time!!! However, unfortunately, for some reason it is still bootlooping :/
When I turn it on, it shows the HTC logo, plays the little chime with Quitely Brilliant written under HTC, makes a very silent beep noise, and reboots. It keeps on doing this again and again.
Any ideas on what to do next? Why would the phone do this?

Well, I'm out of ideas now. At least the ruu worked. Try maybe the htcdev unlock again now. Get a new token and submit that. And go for the normal sensation option on htcdev site and NOT for the 4g

UPDATE!! I just got the phone to sorta bootup once! It booted up to a configuring android screen (in japanese) and then it shut right off, and started rebooting again. Why is the phone constantly and randomly rebooting like this? I've heard some people said it was the battery but the battery seemed to hold a fairly long charge in bootloader mode, so I don't see why this would be the issue. Anyways I will try an htcdev unlock now and see if that works, will update soon.

So I had the waiting for device problem too. I use a VM software on my Mac sometimes and eventually got it to recognize the phone but fastboot commands don't write. I forgot to do the command mentioned but I think it works fine.

Go into device manager and make sure the right driver is installed when your phone is in the bootloader, should return the info to you.

Pretty sure that yours is only a virtual machine problem using windows on mac.
Check well ...
I tried all sorts of drivers for my T-Mobile variant on Windows 10. Couldn't get fastboot to recognize my device no matter what I tried. I eventually gave up after 2 hours, downloaded Ubuntu to a flash drive and set it up/unlocked my bootloader in about 10 minutes. I'll pull the variables after work and post here if no one beats me to it.
Additionally, for those interested, the bootloader can be relocked if necessary. I didn't see anyone say that about this particular device and was curious about it before I unlocked mine, so I just figured I'd leave that here as a quick note.
Im not using a vm?

You need unlock your bootloader and use HTC Version Tool to downgrade to Nougat
Thanks @minhnewpro
At last we have now one place for the RUU.
I did notice a new Oreo RUU in Chinese forums but I think it's for a single SIM

Thanks for answering! Yes, I tried this, however I can't get the code to paste into the htcdev site. Error message, incorrect command or unknown command appears. I have already researched several tutorials to confirm the command and I can't. Any tipos?

Hey thanx for the collection, wanted to use it, but how do I fix the error "RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in android-info missing or i"? I have CID 034 so I used the CID_001_034 RUU.

I'm running into this same issue. I can't boot into my phone. Phone keeps rebooting on my splash screen. I can go into only fastboot screen. When I try and select either Boot to Download or Boot to Recovery mode it gots to the htc screen and then reboots and goes to the splash screen thus continuously rebooting. I have an unlocked AT&T US HTC U Ultra. When i run the below getvar I don't get any sim data.
