flash an RUU - go into hboot and find out what ROM version you were running before (by using fastboot getvar mainversion) then find an RUU with the same or higher version number and download then run it.

Hi,
I am not sure why you are trying to flash the PG58IMG
Can you not change the text file in the PG58IMG and then run the RUU from your PC.
Make sure your phone is in fastboot, then connect your USB cable,(it should say "fastboot USB" ) then, run the RUU.

Hi,
You do not need to extract the PG58IMG
Just open it,change it,and close it.
It remains zipped, and you can run the RUU.

Btw another question, is there a way for me to charge my phone because my battery says its below 30% if I try to install an RUU
Paste the output for
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Remove the IMEI number & serial number from the output.
I'll link you to the right RUU or tell you what else you can try.
For now, don't do anything else.
You cannot flash a modified RUU because you are S-ON; so changing the android-info file will not help.

I don't think there is any O2 ICS RUU let alone 3.32 & you're S-ON, so can't flash a lower RUU.
But fortunately, all is not lost. Let's try this.
Please type these commands one after the other & paste the whole output for everything:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
It's okay if any of them fail, you must execute all three commands one after the other & paste the output.

Just How Can I flash THIS rom?
Is this question so hard? no answer after 27 view?
Goldcard ?
If you've not tried the goldcard method yet try that.
And make sure not to use GoldCard Helper's built in Menu > Copy CID tool, because for me it copied the wrong one. The CID for MMC2 is the one you need.
@ayene
I replied to your other thread how to create a gold card, you have ignored that.
I am unsure if you are unable to boot into the ROM but I am assuming you are booting directly into fastboot and cant.
You can fix your problem by one of these methods.
1) Download this RUU and install it, then create a goldcard (by using your phone, since you are now able to boot into the ROM) and then install the RUU you are trying to install in your post.
2) Create a gold card on the PC have a look here then install the RUU in your first post.

@ayene
Go the the market, get the app GoldCard Helper, the app you used only has the options for mmc0/1. If you look at post 4 in this thread it says use mmc2 i.e. "adb shell cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc2/mmc2:*/cid"
So get the app here, then use the mmc2 number. NOT MMC0!!!

I will do that after my work(Job) finishe. what is different between mmc0 or 1 or 2?
mmc0 is your phones physical memory (where the system lives/apps are installed/user data etc.) mmc2 is the memory card.
oh no
again it say customer id error.

If so, you maybe need to flash the boot.img separately after flashing the ROM (Ruu)

the RUU dont flash so flash boot.img wont help, I think.
I mean after update radio and signing it says cid error. So just flash boot.img wont help.
Hi,
I'm having a bootloop on my sensation xe. I never used a custom rom or anything, and last week i got the following error while updating an app:
"Couldn’t install on USB storage or SD card" I rebooted my phone, and then i got stuck in a bootloop (booting till the htc logo, then rebooting).
I tried to flash a stock RUU from fastboot following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425 . The command line showed no errors while flashing, but this didn't help.
Also flashing 4ext and cwm recoveries didn't work, the commandline showed no errors, but on the screen of my phone the little progress bar on the upper right side never got filled, and the recovery just goes straight to the htc logo, and then rebooting again..
Version:
Relocked
Pyramid pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-1.29.0000
eMMc-boot
cid: HTC__E11
mid: PG5813001
Is there anything else i can try, or should i send it out to be repaired?
Thanks in advance!

Running the ruu again now. I did try a factory reset, but again it jumps straight to the htc logo and then loops again
Edit: Same thing, rom update successfull, but keeps boot looping.. I did notice that the update seem to jump from 65% to 100% very fast, could that mean something?
You have latest hboot (1.29), AFAIK it cannot be completely unlocked.
Also, it is 'Relocked' ? Use htc dev token to unlock it again, than flash 4ext, and use it with 'smartflash' turned on.

I have a HTC sensation which I am trying to fix.
It was working fine and then did an OTA update and it would not boot again and would lock up on the HTC logo with a white background.
I did manage to unlock the phone, but it is still S-ON because I am unable to get into the phone normally to get revolutionary to detect the phone correctly because it cant find the phone in recovery mode.
I managed to get EXT4 recovery image installed which helped me flash the rom to cyanogenmod 10.1 but it will reboot every 5 seconds after it loads into the menu.
I did a super wipe and installed ARHD but it only gets to the beats audio logo before restarting.
I was unable to find the correct stock rom or the RUU because the CID is TELNZ which doesn't seem to have many stock rom files around.
I believe that if I can find the RUU_PYRAMID_TELNZ then it will help me fix the device, but I can't find it on the net.
I tried to write a super CID so I could flash any rom to it but it doesn't work:
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk\tools>fastboot oem writecid 11111111
...
(bootloader) vreg_set: request is duplicated id 14
(bootloader) pyramid_init_sd, SD card power on ok
(bootloader) sdcc_init_memory_device done
(bootloader) [FAT_ERROR] fat_open_file: can not find SMART_IO.CRD
(bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
I tried to manually update the phone with (I had to edit the file and add TELNZ*** to it):
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk\tools>fastboot flash zip PG58IMG.zip
sending 'zip' (14242 KB)...
OKAY [ 3.087s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
I also tried to put PG58IMG.zip on the SD card but the phone fails to update from the image with no error after it finishes "checking" the file.
Here is the info that I have gathered from the device:
Model: HTC sensation z710a
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: 1.18.0000
version-baseband: 10.14.9035.02_2
version-cpld: None

security: on
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: 9d24123f
hbootpreupdate: 11
gencheckpt: 0
What I am hoping to do is to get the device S-OFF and install ARHD Sensation 7.3 or a working install of cyanogenmod 10.1.
If anyone could offer me any help, that would be greatly appreciated.
**update 1**
I have found the reason that the roms are restarting constantly.
Basically the 1.18 HBOOT version I have is too low and causing issues.
I need to update to 3.33 but the revolution tool cant get root, so I am trying to use the Tacoroot method to try and get revolution to work.
The issue I am now facing is that I cant get past the first step because of this error: "failed to copy 'tacoroot.bin' to '/data/local/tacoroot.bin': Permission denied"
delete.....

Yeah i forgot that device you mention your device is still S-ON and that's why i removed my abov post but you can still flash GB RUU.. let me find..
You're s-on... Then you must flash boot.img of the ROM you're trying to flash, using fastboot commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then immediately reboot.

Thanks.
To go into greater detail, does this mean that I need to download hTC-Stock-FirmWare-3.33.401.6 (HBOOT-1.29.0000+boot.img+Radio+Recovery+etc.) and manually flash the boot.img via CMD?
What I have managed to do so far is run superwipe and install SENSEaY_XE35_v2.1.0 which is a modified GB rom.
I tried to then run the revolutionary method to get S-OFF but it always just corrupted the rom.
I also tried the tacoroot method but that corrupted the rom as well.
So for now I'm just leaving it with SENSEaY_XE35_v2.1.0 installed since that is the only thing that works and seems to be stable on the phone.
can anyone tell me where the stock roms are now located? the link in the sticky unfortunately leads to 'invalid link specified'

I did mean RUUs, so thanks for that. I see the link I am after (H3G) is ~260mb. this leads me to believe that its the gingerbread version. Is there an RUU for ice cream sandwich? I presume thats its a universal RUU, and that there wasn't one released per carrier?

I wouldn't recommend installing the RUU for ICS as it wasn only really released for development use and is not stable. If you want ICS then try one of the Custom ROMs instead as they are far better.

yh i agree with SimonTS, the ics update aint great and the custom ones here r much better without the bugs, well most of them anyway, but if u want it the ruu then yh its the wwe ruu that u use, its a "one for all" ruu, bit like the 2.3gb upgrade for the htc desire (bravo) one file for everyone.

I really appreciate the replies, so thanks for getting back to me. 2 quick followups. the target phone doesn't boot up fully (thus adb commands on pc won't work). it gets past the carrier (three network) splash screen and then hangs with a small icon of a handset and a large red triangle with red exclamation mark. is it possible that the RUU will bet able to flash this (fastboot commands work so its not a complete brick).
the other query i have is that the file I am trying to flash it with is the only H3G rom linked from above (n00bs can't post links sorry), am i right in thinking this is the only candidate available to me for a three network (ireland) device?
As far as i know the ICS RUU for the desire s is for all, so doesnt matter if its locked to 3, or any other brand. And if u search on HTCDev site there is only 2 ICS ruu's available to download, one is wwe and the other is for china so yh ul need the wwe version. Basically download the ruu, put ur phone into fastboot mode, plug it in to pc and run the ruu.exe file.
Another thing is if u wana s-off ur phone u wont be able to if u use the ics ruu, u would have to downgrade ur phone. So if u have fastboot set up on ur pc then put ur phone into fastboot mode then plug into pc then open fastboot command window and type
fastboot getvar version-main
And post results here

When I run the RUU I get this error after it has rebooted the handset:

Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
Any ideas on which one RUU i need?
Because ur main-version is 1.47.xxx and the ruu that u tried is 1.31.xxx.
U have to use the ruu with 1.47 or higher, u cant downgrade. So i would suggest flash the 1.47 ruu again that way u will be able to s-off the phone via revolutionary
Edit: can u run this command via fastboot
fastboot getvar all
And post what it says?

Hi all! I have a bricked HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) that I am trying to fix.
I need help with RUUing the HTC Sensation 4G. (Z710e)
I believe I have tried everything, all without luck, please help, TIA.
Heres the problem with the phone- It appears to be stuck in a bootloop, boots up to the white HTC screen, makes the HTC startup chime with Quietly Brilliant written under it, and then immediately reboots, and continuously does this over and over again.
Heres what I know about the phone
The Bootloader is Locked
The Phone is S-ON
The CID of the phone is HTC__621
Here's what I've tried
I have tried RUUing the phone with RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_TMOUS_3.32.531.14_Radio_11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2_release_256085_signed.exe
since it is a T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G. However I keep getting Error 130: Model ID error.
I also tried RUUing the phone manually using CMD, following the guide however this failed aswell, I kept getting "remote: 12 signature verify fail" at the end.
I also tried renaming extracting the rom.zip from the RUU, renaming that to PG58IMG.zip, placing that on my sd card and booting the phone into bootloader. However when I tried this it said checking PG158.img, but nothing happened, it just continued to boot up to the bootloader.
At this point I realized maybe that this RUU didn't match my CID, which was why it was failing. So I tried opening the ROM.zip file however it said it was corrupt in windows explorer. I then tried redownloading the RUU but it still kept saying ROM.zip was corrupt. I then opening ROM.zip with winrar and it opened up! I then opened android-info.text and saw that the cidnum for the RUU was T-MOB0101. I tried changing this to my CID (HTC__621) and then saving as instructed in this guide, however when I pressed on YES to update the files in the archive, winrar gives an error and says that the archive is corrupt, and does not update android-info.text.
I am not sure what else to try at this point, and I am stumped as to why none of the following methods I've tried worked. Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there anything I'm missing? Any help would be very gladly appreciated, as I am out of ideas.
Also worth noting, I've attached 2 pictures below as attachements to this post, (since I am new to xdadevelopers I cannot post direct links to images), one of the bootloader of the phone, including information such as my hboot version, radio version, etc. in case its needed.
I've also attached a picture below of what happens when I put the phone into HTC stock android recovery and press Factory Data Wipe/Reset. I get a bunch of errors, I'm not sure if this is related to anything but it doesn't look normal, so I attached a picture of it below.
Thanks in advance!

You can access bootloader so no problems here. Unlock bootloader through htcdev. In fastboot mode flash latest 4ext recovery, enable smartflash in settings, then flash a custom rom. You can also try Android Revolution HD rom if you prefer a stock look.

Strange... Make sure you copy and paste right from the beginning to the end. You can also try to move your adb/fastboot folder somewhere else for example to the desktop and try resubmitting the token from there. (Might sound stupid but works sometimes). If not, you need to find the right RUU for your device and RUU it, then follow this guide for s-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26280760 there are some devices htcdev unlock doesn't work unfortunately... Otherwise I have no other idea, sorry. Somebody might be able to help.

Thanks again for your response, I just did it again this time with my fastboot folder on the desktop, however I still got the same error. How would I find the right RUU for my device? It is an american HTC Sensation 4G from T-Mobile with its CID: HTC__621. I haven't been able to find another RUU for it other than the one I used as previously mentioned in my original post. If anyone has the link to the right RUU I could use for this device, it would be really helpful. Thanks again.

Hi, thanks again for your help! The RUU completed successfully this time!!! However, unfortunately, for some reason it is still bootlooping :/
When I turn it on, it shows the HTC logo, plays the little chime with Quitely Brilliant written under HTC, makes a very silent beep noise, and reboots. It keeps on doing this again and again.
Any ideas on what to do next? Why would the phone do this?

Well, I'm out of ideas now. At least the ruu worked. Try maybe the htcdev unlock again now. Get a new token and submit that. And go for the normal sensation option on htcdev site and NOT for the 4g

UPDATE!! I just got the phone to sorta bootup once! It booted up to a configuring android screen (in japanese) and then it shut right off, and started rebooting again. Why is the phone constantly and randomly rebooting like this? I've heard some people said it was the battery but the battery seemed to hold a fairly long charge in bootloader mode, so I don't see why this would be the issue. Anyways I will try an htcdev unlock now and see if that works, will update soon.
