Where is my Mini-SIM card slot? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100,
Also... Whenever I read about it, gsmarena keeps saying it has a micro sim card slot.
Also, is there any difference between "p5100" and "gt-p5100" or is it just added and removed?

These two are absolutely same. Gt is some naming convention used by Samsung to distinguish between their models. What kind of slot do you have? is it mini or micro ? it must be Mini because Micro-sim card slots are recently adopted by most of the companies.

I suppose its region specific then. which region you are in ? AFAIK, P5110/P5113 models does not have Sim card slot.I always gets the same result on google saying " Mini sim card slot" for your Model P5100....It seems samsung/gsmarena is fooling around people by providing fake specifications...

I am in Ireland but it seems the tablet was originally bought from Spain, as I got my tablet from Swappa.
How do I know?
Once, I messed up the OS, but sometimes I'd get lucky and see a Android installation screen, the touch screen was not working, but everything was in spanish.
Anyway, I just can't find the sim card slot on it.

Sim card size (Most left)

Can't find it, only have SD card.
What would happen if I would insert a sim into the SD card slot

I use a case, just looked on the back.
I have p5110, although I am using p5100 ROM and it works perfectly.

SIM Card Missing from Sprint Phones Sold on eBay - Anything to worry about?

I just bought another HTC Touch Pro 2 (HTC RhodiumW CDMA + GSM) for Sprint (CDMA + EVDO) in the US on eBay and this phone once again came with an obviously missing Sprint Worldwide SIM Card (for GSM networks) (PDF Instructions) because the plastic credit card holder had the SIM card removed.
I got the first seller to send me the missing card and now I am having the second seller send me the SIM card also, only after complaining that they promised the card in their auction lists but failed to ship them.
I am concerned now that this happened twice, exactly the same way, so I'm wondering if there is some kind of a SIM Card scam or security issue going around that I should worry about? SIM card cloning maybe? Or SIM card being linked to phone and cloned to charge me for phone calls?
(Excuse my ignorance, but I've been a happy CDMA + EVDO network user for 10-years+ so I'm not familiar with SIM card security that's why I'm reaching out to more knowledgeable people like yourselves.)
I am aware of the fact that Sprint overcharges on their Worldwide International Rates so I won't be using their service overseas since I can just buy a pre-paid SIM card on a local network there for pennies on the dollar. I am also aware of the fact that this phone cannot use SIM Cards here in the US because it is SIM locked, and I know about Olipro's SIM unlocking web site that I plan to use on one phone but the other phone is already SIM unlocked according to the owner.)

I don't see your problem way do you want that sim card and not your own simcard (I know you normally don't use a simcard).
only pre-paid phones are sold with a card (In a shop) .

Removing SD Card?

Is there a way to remove the SD card in the Nexus S? I know there was a way to remove it in the HTC HD7, which also had a built in 16gb card, so why not this device?
I have a 32gb SD card laying around, curious if I could replace the existing card with this one.
Why would you remove it in the first place ??? all video's, pictures etc will be stored there when you use the camera.

I understand that, neither did the HD7, but it had a micro SD card implanted into the phone. Assuming the Nexus S actually has a micro SD, why can't it be swapped out with something else?
Here is the HD7...

Nexus s has no hidden slot. It's impossible to change it with a newer card.

[Q] Copying contacts to 100's of sim cards

Hi,
I have to copy 2-3 contacts onto hundreds on sim cards.
Ideally im looking for a product that I can insert a sim card (preferably before it is removed from the credit card sized plastic holder) and copy the 2-3 contacts onto a sim manager, then simply insert a black sim, and have the device copy the few contacts across to it.
I have about 700 to do, which is why I prefer to use a device that will accept the full size card (before removing the standard/micro sim card)
Thanks in advance.

Does the US Unlocked Note 20 Ultra (N986U1) pyhsically support two sims?

Hello, I'm trying to clear something up once and for all, I bought a dual sim tray off amazon for my US Unlocked Note 20 Ultra, put two sims in it and inserted it in the phone. However absolutely nothing different happened, only the bottom sim (1) was recognized. I am wondering if the US Note 20 does not physically support two sims (or is these some trick to enable it in software, rooted or not)? If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!
Also on eSim functionality, I am able to get into the CSC menu but it only shows US codes, currently it looks like mine is set to TMB (despite it being unlocked straight from samsung), why do I not have any options for eSim (TMB is supposed to I think)?
Nope, only 1 Sim supported, pretty sure it doesn't have the hardware for two physical sims. Also even though you have T-Mobile csc on your unlocked, you need to flash T-Mobile firmware to use esim. (Essentially turning your U1 into a U. esim won't work on unlocked firmware.

Alright, thanks for the info on this!
This is hilarious.
I bought the 20 because it was widely advertised to have dual sim card support, which I want/need as E-sim is .. well, not really available yet.
So, all the advertisements for the phone everywhere list it as a dual sim card phone, but its not.
GG samsung. ffs. I'd have bought the standard note 20.
Only reason to keep the 20 ultra is the sim card support.
Which even then, the phone handles like crap.
The eSIM has finally been turned on for the unlocked Note 20 Ultra on UI 4.0 beta.

query about memory card size

hi all,
i recently purchased infinix zero turbo 2023 , which has a micro sd card, the phone’s spec says it supports micro sd card upto 256 gb , i want to use 1tb micro sd card would that work, has anyone tried adding memory card higher than what the phone’s spec says , what has been your experience
thank you
Doesn't work: 256 GB is maximum.
I doubt you will find member that has tried, so just try yourself. check /proc/filesystems if exFAT is listed. as long as the phone supports the SDXC standard it may work up to 1 TB, as the address is within range.
0x3FFFFFFFFF = 256 GiB
0xFFFFFFFFFF = 1 TiB
the limitation is maybe just at time of writing the specs there wasn't simply such large SD cards on the market.
so it's tial & error.

No you cant, you can just use sd cards which is 256gb or less in size also if you want more storage try cloud storage
I'm sure it would work fine! Might need to format it first in Android settings, I used to have a ps3 with a 2tb HDD (supposedly not supported at the time)
Never use cloud BTW store your data locally so its literally in your hands not some stranger.

what basically allows you to format them as exFAT - a filesystem developed by Microsoft - and what can hold data up 2 TB.
Take note that it's up to OEM's discretion if they include exFAT driver in their kernel (and executables in userspace) after having an agreement with Microsoft or their partners. So check whether phone's Android can handle exFAT or not. AFAIK only some Samsung phones can.
