Moving on to the Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys. I'm probably not a well known user, but I wanted to say that I'm moving on to the galaxy nexus.
I found a good deal here in Mississauga for only 400 for an unlocked HSPA+ version. I just got it today at noon and I've gotten pretty impressed with the speed, smoothness and stability of this phone. The screen is also HD and has better colors. The camera actually looks a bit better although its only 5 mp. I'm pretty happy with my choice.
Again, I'm not leaving the g2x community, I'm just using the gnex as my main phone now. On the other hand, I can't wait for the g2x to get a fully working ICS port.
Again, I hope the best for the fate of the g2x. I'll be there to witness and experience evey moment. I hope you had a good time reading this. Have a good day/night.

I think he meant taxes included, Ontario tax is 13%. Add that to 349.it's around 400 $ mark.

Yeah, taxes were included and the phone was brand new. The box was unopened and the plastic covers were on the screen and on the back. The sticker was on the box and it didn't look like it had been tampered with. Everything was in the box and it was wrapped in a thick plastic with Samsung branding. There were no scratches or marks so the phone was probably brand new.
Oh, and my carrier is Wind.

I actually prefer the G2x's camera, but I still enjoy my Nexus for all the other reasons, lol.

There are/were many threads about people moving on to another device and usually a moderator closes the threads due to them finding it pointless I guess.

Then it'll get shoved off when it's time for judgment has come.
I just don't see a point in people coming into a thread just to bash someone when it's not even a big deal.
If you REALLY don't care, then just stay out of it and let the mods deal with it. Let the man leave and be happy with his new phone.

I have also bought a Galaxy Nexus and a Galaxy S II X, and one of them will replace my WIND branded P999DW. Thus my P999DW will be for sale very soon now.
I haven't received my GN yet as it is still in the US, but so far the S II X seems very nice.
WIND has no updates and the official OS is 2.2 still. It is sad as a flag ship model costing $445. when I bought it 11 months ago.

Anyone want to trade to a GS3??

Also, is the phone unlocked?

I'm located in Lexington KY.
Phone is rooted and running AOKP currently. There isn't much development for unlocking these since they are already available on all carriers..

I have a onex in grey, rooted with a defender, commuter and original HTC car dock I'd consider trading. Not sure I would add cash though.

I keep flipping back to my GS3, but I can't see the stupid screen outside, and the battery is so much worse on the S3.
But CM10 is so beautiful on the S3

Sorry guys...i got a lot of PM's about this and hadn't checked the thread.....I believe I have a deal already worked out for the price I was asking, hope it works out.
The whole development thing is just losing interested for me. The screen and camera are so much better on the One X that I couldn't take it anymore.....After years of being a big rom flasher, I'm more interested in a reliable phone that I don't have to mess with. I really enjoyed Sense 4.1, and figure its only going to get better on the JB update.

HTC One X Screen Replacement Help Please!

I just received a screen from a fellow XDA member today and so I took it all apart and removed the old LCD/Digi and test the new one on the motherboard but there's no response. It is ON and I plugged it in as much as it can go. Please look at the images and tell me if there's something missing or idk... this is my only phone too. =( thanks

Your missing an important pic. Back of the LCD. From what I can see from what's here. Its all good. Now also are you testing without full assembly?

The back shell shouldn't matter when testing the screen

i followed a video that said to test the LCD screen the way it is in the pic and his turned on. mine never did.

yeah this guy is very clear in some parts.
what is the orange tape on the jaw bone connectors for? is it necessary?
does the back of the LCD need the adhesive on it cuz I dont have that,
and how hard should I press the LCD into the frame? it seems in, idk if it will help

Mine had the tape on it. Did not replace an of them.

I'd get some adhesive. Plus depending on quality you might want to concider butting some silicon around the glass to LCD for dust reasons

That looks like the wrong screen model for the AT&T HTC One X. I am not entirely sure, but I believe you need the exact screen model specified for the AT&T model which has the AT&T logo at the top. That top cable is just for the touch screen so in theory that shouldn't be needed to have the lcd turn on.

Have you tried the old one? If the old one still works then you have a bad lcd.

the old one stopped working, thats why I got a new one.

There is the chance then that the system board has the issue then. Does it seem like it boots up? aka making the startup sounds.

Finding a replacement lcd for att one x

Ive read everything I can but am still slightly confused as to what lcd's will work with my one x because everyone seems to have a different opinion on it in every thread I read. so will this one work? it has the sony flex like the american models but says its for the international version which only got the auo i thought?

I dont really have a choice, it got ran over by a jeep and everything is still on, plus i dont have the money to get a new one.

Get on eBay and look for a place called repair bowl.. they have a b and c stock ones that has a scratch that is about 1/2 inch in upper right hand.. changing screens is a piece of cake!

Ha, that's an odd statement.
OP, I struggled with the same questions as you when I had to replace the screen on my phone... and honestly I'm still not convinced I got the right version. It works, but the light pipes for the capacitive buttons don't line up, which I thought (going on memory) that that was one of the problems with using an international screen on the Evita phone.

I can understand why he would say that. Replacing the screen on this phone is a bit troublesome if you're inexperienced not to mention the 3 different screens for this phone that are really only identified by their flex cables. If you think it through and plan ahead all should be fine though.

Im not actually doing the full repair myself, a coworker thats a member on here is doing it, he already peeled the phone apart in 5 minutes to look for damage to the chassis or board at work, i just have to find the proper lcd assembly.

Do you have any close ups of the scratched area or anything, Im really hesitant to buy it with the description, Id pay 90 tops for a perfect one. bUT I May end up just getting it if the scratching isnt too bad.

I ended up just ordering the scratched ebay one, it didnt seem that bad and I knew it was the right one, well hopefully it was.

Does this phone have the conference call function, to be able to add more than one person to an existing call, and to hang up any one and continue with the others, and to leave and go back to the conference? attached is pics from a tmobile samsung galaxy s5 which has this but verizon removed this. i have a friend that needs this, so i was wondering if the HTC one M8 from verizon does have it

Figured it out. After making a call, hit the three dots and you can add calls to the current one. See HTC support page here

tried it out on a Verizon M8 and it does not work. the link you posted must have been from the regular M8. I don't know why Verizon takes out this feature from all their phones. Sad!!!!
