Hey guys. I'm probably not a well known user, but I wanted to say that I'm moving on to the galaxy nexus.
I found a good deal here in Mississauga for only 400 for an unlocked HSPA+ version. I just got it today at noon and I've gotten pretty impressed with the speed, smoothness and stability of this phone. The screen is also HD and has better colors. The camera actually looks a bit better although its only 5 mp. I'm pretty happy with my choice.
Again, I'm not leaving the g2x community, I'm just using the gnex as my main phone now. On the other hand, I can't wait for the g2x to get a fully working ICS port.
Again, I hope the best for the fate of the g2x. I'll be there to witness and experience evey moment. I hope you had a good time reading this. Have a good day/night.

I think he meant taxes included, Ontario tax is 13%. Add that to 349.it's around 400 $ mark.

Yeah, taxes were included and the phone was brand new. The box was unopened and the plastic covers were on the screen and on the back. The sticker was on the box and it didn't look like it had been tampered with. Everything was in the box and it was wrapped in a thick plastic with Samsung branding. There were no scratches or marks so the phone was probably brand new.
Oh, and my carrier is Wind.

I just don't see a point in people coming into a thread just to bash someone when it's not even a big deal.

I have also bought a Galaxy Nexus and a Galaxy S II X, and one of them will replace my WIND branded P999DW. Thus my P999DW will be for sale very soon now.
I haven't received my GN yet as it is still in the US, but so far the S II X seems very nice.
WIND has no updates and the official OS is 2.2 still. It is sad as a flag ship model costing $445. when I bought it 11 months ago.

Although I've already "made my peace" with many of those here who had a gripe with me, I'd like to, once again, thank the people here who were actually helpful, were willing to accept my apology and, most importantly, the developers who are always hard at work trying to make the GS4G the best that it can be. The recent Gingerbread ROMs have really brought new life to this phone and addressed many of my initial complaints and disappointment.
That being said, (and much to the delight of several of you here who just can't seem to move past things, even after my apologies and attempts to reconcile) I still can't see myself keeping this phone. There's just not enough RAM, app storage space, etc. and, being a father of 8 month old twins, I need a decent camera ready at all times. I think we can all agree that the camera on this thing is about as weak as it gets these days.
So I ordered an HTC Sensation which should be here in a week. I guess I'll be bothering the guys over in those forums soon enough.

If you guys are still selling your phones, I would recommend putting an ad up on your local craigslist. Before I dove into the root world and unlocked my SG4G to its full potential, I posted an ad up to sell my phone for $200 and got all kinds of offers. This was about two months ago.
Sad to see many people moving away from this phone. Although I do believe it is becoming outdated, I still think its a great phone nonetheless. I'm personally holding onto it because I will be spending a year abroad and have already unlocked it for international use.

Yeah I paid 399 for it. Easy to root and unlock. Flashing rom from cwm recovery just like you can on glacier. Already rooted it and running AOKP rom with franco kernel.

I'm running the exact same setup as you. Franco kernel is bomb isn't it? Sounds are nice and the screen even looks better than it already is. Did you get Franco's kernel app control?

Any idea what price you would set the glacier at for sale? I know this isn't the marketplace but I'm curious because I have family members who paid $190 a month ago... but I paid $175 for mine a year ago.... what's a fair market price assuming normal wear/tear

Yeah, I'm planning to just ride this phone out until the end of the contract (late December). Development is still surprisingly strong, I don't play any graphically intensive games, and the phone never fails me for anything.
My family on my contract wants to switch so I have to keep this phone until two years from June 2011 (someone bought an sgs)

Psh, I can't upgrade for like another 10 months. I want a Gnex, so I might try to get one this summer since I'll be working. I might even try to get a weekend job for that extra $$$.

Hell, I just broke my S3 and using the Fascinate! There are still people Dev'in for this device. It is slow as HELL and you defiantly cannot multi-task with 512MB but BlackBean7 works great for basic functions.
I miss my S3
I'm sure one of our great devs will port a S4 ROM so we can have any added features it may come with.

Hey guys, just wanted to open a thread regarding the Samsung stores @local best buys in the us.
Went into a store today to buy ink and stumbled upon a Samsung rep setting up the mini store. Had a quick conversation with him.
He let me hold the s4 and we had a quick chat about the phone. Apparently he had a s600 s4, but it was not carrier branded. He wouldn't let me take a picture of it though.
Love the design of it and it was very comfortable to hold in the hand, since it didn't have that security thing attached.
Anyways, just thought I'd share this, so you guys can keep a lookout at your local best buy.

I wish I could've taken a picture but he wouldn't let me. Just the fact that he had one on him in the us is awesome (btw, he was a Rep from South Korea hq).
I can say one thing though.....The bezel was almost non existent on it. So beautiful. Def gonna be my next phone.

i wonder if this means we might be able to line up outside a bestbuy to get an international s4, instead of relying on importing from uk websites like Clove .. I'd definitely be one of the ones who camp out overnight!

I doubt it...you know how the us is with availability of the good stuff. I was surprised he said his was the snapdragon version, since he's from corporate. Must really be a supply issue then.

Unless they got someone from corporate setting up, I doubt it. But if they do, just casually ask about the release date, and hope they're willing to show you.

Good luck! If you do see it, just focus on the bezel. Videos are chill, but seeing it in person, the bezel is just so thin.

Yes it does look thin as hell. I don't think they will let me have an in depth hands on but I look forward to see the screen and navigate through the UI a little.
What color was the s4?

Yeah, I was lucky to even hold it. I didn't wanna overstep his generosity, so I just held it, and checked out the screen and the design of it.
And it was the black version, but it was in a window flip cover.
