I have rooted my Huawei Ascend G700-U10 using Eroot, but I plan on sending my phone back to Huawei due to issues that caused me to root it in the first place. So, naturally, I now wish to unroot my phone.
I did not unlock the bootloader, nor did I install any ROM whatsoever, and am therefore still using the stock ROM. All I did was gain root access. How can I unroot my phone?
What superuser app do you use?
If its chain fire supersu i think it has an unroot option in the app
Before doing this with supersu uninstall root apps like blackbox installer
You could always reinstall update.zip using the stock recovery

I use Superuser as my superuser app.
I can't access the stock recovery, pressing the volume down button during boot does start some process but after a few lines it freezes.

Superuser was made a system app when my phone was rooted. How do I uninstall it?
I recall there being some app that could uninstall system apps but I can't remember it for the life of me.

You're 100% sure these steps won't end up bricking my phone?
Not that I don't trust you, just don't wanna take any risk since I can't afford a new one.

So I'm running CM 7.1 stable with Matr1x 8.0 cfs and I went to turn on my tethering yesterday and I got a toast notification saying I was unable to start tethering due to an inability to gain root access. As of a few minutes ago, I am unable to gain root access with titanium backup, wireless tether, or the terminal emulator.
Has anyone ever seen something like this, or know what may be wrong?
Thanks in advance

I tried updating from within SU and the prompt showed up, I accepted, and I got a toast saying that Superuser had been granted SU permissions. Then the update failed from lack of root privileges. Titanium Backup and the terminal are still not able to gain access

I already tried that. No dice.
If I try to use the terminal for anything it returns "<command>: permission denied". This occurs with any terninal emulator I use. Will I have to make a call to busybox for everything?

seems that your root method doesnt work properly.Just try another one
Did you not see that I'm using cm? the ROM comes rooted.

hm two ideas.
- root permission is not being granted correctly
- busybox not installed correctly
Should I reinstall bb then?

This was addressed earlier. My rom COMES rooted, so I don't need to root it.
Also, When I try installing BB (using one of the BB installers) it says that the same version was already installed. Does this mean that I need to UNinstall it first? Wait for the next version of BB? :/
Try rebooting into clockworkmod recovery and going to advanced>fix permissions. Then reboot and go back to terminal and type su. If you still get permission denied, uninstall busybox the push it back to the phone via adb. Let me know how it goes.

Why do I have to use adb? Wouldn't I just be able to use the installer?

Do you get permission denied when type su in the terminal? Then superuser from the market since the rom is already rooted

You could do it from the market/installer . Sorry I use adb for everything.

Barclays have finally released a proper banking app for UK Barclays customers, but I can't use it due to root
I've tried temporary root removers, no joy. I've restored the original unrooted ROM using CWM Recovery, no joy. I'm thinking maybe it checks something deeper like the bootloader or recovery perhaps?
Anyone with any ideas?

I'm afraid we'll have to wait for someone that hacks the app...
Desperate to get this working, bloody root checkers...
There is an oher thread. The workaround is this: with permission denied DENY the barclays get task. Reboot. Then system\xbin hide the su file with es file explorer then rename the superuser.apk.. Like superuser2.apk remember u have to rename the superuser every time after reboot. Cheers

so I got my tf300 updated to jellybean and installed nova because it was sluggish. so I wanted to put some widgets out to the desktop and I had no problem. went into settings and saw that the app has root permission. how is that possible?

Download root checker to see if you truly have root permissions. If you do, then it would seem you got a used, rooted device.

If you have installed Super Su or SuperUser, when you want to open an apk which is need root rights (as Titanium Backup for example), you will see a notification as Pop-Up.
If you have it, check it.
And you can used Root checker (via Play Store) for confirm your root
"Sorry! This device does not have proper roof access"
So what? How do I have root access on nova?
And the tablet was brand new everything had the plastic foil on and stuff

It's so simple.
You want root rights, but you are not root. YOU CAN'T
You are in JB bootloader apparently, if you want root rights, you must doing:
UNLOCK your device
FLASH a recovery
ROOT your device
and finally, you will have root rights for your app

evidently nova is lying about root...
This is an old option, on ICS 3-rd launcher don't have permissions to add a widget from the drawer, this is why he needs root, on JB this problem is fixed, so the launchers don't need root to add this widget, maybe the Nova developers forget to rename the option right.
I installed a new rom TrickDroid, and after flashing, and successfully booting up, I could not access certain things that require a rooted phone; so I ran root checker again, and it said I had NO ROOT ACCESS.
I restored my phone to the previous ROM, and all was ok..... wth? I think I had this happen to me when I installed SlimRom, but I was able to find a "Root Access" option in "Developer Options" that allowed me to tick on, root for adb and apps.
I know I'm missing it, and its right in front of me.
Just make a flashable zip of the super user app and binaries and flash it
