Hi ,
I'm with stock no root, found problem about talking , serveral times that when make a call without any sound.
During that time data / wifi and everythings work as normal. I try on/off airplane but it's didn't work at all. Only reboot can solve this problem.
Btw I didn't make many call just 1-2 per day and I used only 1 sim.

Same Problem With Me
Yea ! I have also encountered this problem many a times.
Only reboot solved it.
Hope its just a software but and Motorola solves it soon
BTW I'm using only single sim.
Yes, this happened to me many times, especially during incoming calls. When this happened, I tried calling my other number, I couldn't even hear the dialer tone, though the call does go through. The speaker works in music, video apps, games etc. Tried pressing volume up/down to see if it toggled the sound. Nothing works except rebooting the phone.
Btw, I am using a stock rooted XT 1033, with a single SIM.
If you guys haven't rooted the phone, contact Motorola, and claim Warranty support. Perhaps they could tell you if it is a software related issue or not.

My SGR has stopped vibrating, regardless of the setting. I noticed it about an hour ago.
I can confirm that it was working about 12 hours ago.
I am running InfectedROM V1 on ardatdat's keenal v1.5
Anybody got any ideas what is wrong?

I can't understand what could have caused this, did you bump /drop you handset anywhere recently ? If yes then it can be some hardware issue.
Check your recently installed apps, they maybe interfering with the vibrator settings though that's a remote possibility but do check.
If its a software bug then flashing the ROM/kernel again should solve the problem. But keep this as the last option if it seems there's no other way out.
It started working. On its own.
I had it in my pocket, got a text and it vibrated.
Funny issue. I can't understand what happened. But I am glad I don't have to take it in for servicing.

That's good !
I think it must be a software bug which caused it then.
It was solved as you may have restarted your handset but still do observe if it stops vibrating intermittently.
Actually I did a soft reset when I noticed it, that did not fix it.
I tried changing the vibration settings randomly and all but nothing worked.
I have got no idea what happened. But I have been checking the vibration every hour or so and it hasn't stopped working after that.
It has stopped vibrating again.
This is so irritating. I miss calls and texts because of this.

Darn !
That's why I told you to monitor it. Now I think it could be a software issue. If it was a hardware one then it shouldn't have started working again.
Check if a restart solves the issue. Do remove the battery for a few secs before switching it on again.
If it works its a software bug.
Did you check the installed apps if they are interfering with the settings ?
Do check the settings for Vibration intensity if they are at default.
Check and reply here buddy though I think you'll need to take it to the service center if even flashing stock ROM doesn't solve the issue.
I finally found out the problem and the solution. Was googling about it and a guy with SGS2 had posted on some forums that his vibration stops working after removing headphones. He also gave a solution to change the vibration settings to 'never' and back.
I tried that but it didn't work.
Then I tried replugging my earphones and the vibration immediately started working.
I don't understand what could be causing this issue but atleast I got a fix now.
Seems software related as you said. Maybe it is fault with either the customROM or the custom kernel. Would be pretty weird to have bugs like this in stock.

There are no such bugs on Samsung stock ROM.
You'll need to request #ardatdat & #eaglerazor12 to look into the issue and they will definitely help you.
It has stopped wirking, yet again and no matter what, I can't revive it.
I have even flashed everything stock except for the recovery. [Is there anyway to go back to stock recovery?]

Ok.

Atleast now I can be sure that it is a hardware issue. Will have to get it fixed one way or the other.

I reflashed my nandroid backup through CWM to get stock back. Should I flash it again through Odin?
Sent from my GT-I9103 using XDA App
actually no, but if you have your fw u may take recovery from the package and push it to another tar file (use total commander) and then just flash it via odin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JA3PXNYjJM
This fixes the problem.
I feel really angry at Samsung for making the SGR with the same fault that SGS2 had. Why not fix it if the already had complaints about it in the previous phone?
Atleast I don't have to take it to the service center now.
Issue : When I attend an incoming call, I'm not able to hear the other party's voice. I can hear only my own voice back, but they say they can hear me just fine.
Contrast : No such issue when I make an outgoing call. All voices are just very fine.
When it started : Went back to stock 2.3.5 Indian ROM and restored from the Titanium backup taken while on Titanium S V2.1. But this is just the lst thing i remember doing before the issue.
Troubleshoots tried:
Software: Factory reset, on stock 2.3.5, and Titanium Rom with nothing installed other than the pure base OS.
Hardware : tried cleaning the mic opening (ya i know, but just a try), clicked the volume rocker a few times during the call.
Both did not help.
Google: There were 3-4 exactly similar issues on other models, but no one could find a fix, nor an update on how it went.
I dont think this is a hardware issue as the voice is fine when I make the call.
Guys... help me out....
Now that's weird. Don't worry we'll try to solve it.
Further you can troubleshoot by:
1. To rule our any possibility of the Receiving speaker being faulty, open your dialer and input this code (*#0*#). Now select 'Receiver(White)' from it. You should hear continuous sound from your Receiving Speaker, if not then its not working.
2. Trying to make a call using a landline phone so as remove the possibility of caller having any network issues and use a SIM from a different network provider on your handset to ascertain if its a network problem.
3. Is there a small popup with a heading something like 'In call volume' when using the volume rocker while receiving an incoming call ?
4. And does it at least show increase or decrease in the bar on the popup of 'In Call volume' graphically when you press corresponding volume rocker keys ?
Do post here what were the outcomes and also if you find what was wrong.
Thanks for your suggestions, Eagle..
1. To rule our any possibility of the Receiving speaker being faulty, open your dialer and input this code (*#0*#). Now select 'Receiver(White)' from it. You should hear continuous sound from your Receiving Speaker, if not then its not working.
Ans: Sound recieving perfectly. (too loud actually ;-) )
2. Trying to make a call using a landline phone so as remove the possibility of caller having any network issues and use a SIM from a different network provider on your handset to ascertain if its a network problem.
Ans: Tried from almost a dozen networ/phone cominations. No joy.
3. Is there a small popup with a heading something like 'In call volume' when using the volume rocker while receiving an incoming call ?
Ans : Yes, the usual volume level bar appears.
4. And does it at least show increase or decrease in the bar on the popup of 'In Call volume' graphically when you press corresponding volume rocker keys ?
Ans : Yes, the volume works fine. I can hear my own voice back very clearly, both in the headset and loud speaker .
Nothing works so far.. any other software related issue sthat u can think of..?
So one thing for sure your receiving speaker works fine and so is your volume rocker.
Usually most of the software related issues should be resolved when you clear cache, clear dalvik cache, factory reset, flash stock ROM and kernel on your handset.
I think you have already done all of these, right ?
I think some thing is wrong with your radio i.e. motherboard, you might have to go to the service center.
The problem may also be due to use of faulty Jack headphone, that galaxy R has.
Do check for that...!!

I was in office all this while and all i tried was restoring my CWM backups of all the ROMs I had and then making factory reset, clear cache of it.
Just reached home and flashed the stock 2.3.6 XWLA4 via Odin and made a factory reset, clear cache with nothing on it.. and guess what ?!
IT WORKED...
so far tried from a landline and a mobile, and mic works.. testing still going on..
The only only difference i could find was.. all my backups had root and now since I flashed via Odin, its unrooted and thats the only diff..
Cooleagle/anyone, do you think that could have made the difference..

OH MAN !!!!!
that was exactly the problem....
plugged in my headphone, plugged out and the NEXT CALL.... the problem recurred. as mentioned in the other thread, i plugged in and out the headphone a couple of times (without reboot) and then it started working..
I never knew the headphone jack of SGR had a regular problem like this...
I never used a hands-free for calls and only a couple of days back started listening songs from phone..
But i still wonder how after every CWM restore, followed by a reboot, did not solve the problem before..
Thanks a lot dude...

Thanks for posting that.
In his case it was not working for outgoing as well as incoming calls but in sarun's case he could use the handset for outgoing calls.
So it seems to affect selectively and not the same in every case.
Do you think I should put this in the FAQ's because it seems some handsets have this bug ?

Yea Cool_eagle.
Put in FAQ, but in exception cases or under some other heading, coz it will give wrong impression to users. As the user might take it that this problem occurs on all Galaxy R. (I am not facing this error on my handset)
Also put that Galaxy R shutdown immideatly when it tries to access the network.
Put the heading as some known problems with Galaxy R

Even i faced this problem. Whem I'm listening to music on headphones and a call comes, I remove the headphones and take the call, and sometimes I cant hear anything. Even outgoing doesnt work.
Pluggin in the headphone and removing it solves the issue most of the time. Else a reboot has worked for me everytime.
If it gets too annoying take it to service center, Even i faced the same fears as u but I finally took it (But that was cos of a different issue)
Keep us posted, Gud luck
I have a problem with the Optimus One. When i call icant hear nothing, or conversation suddenly stops and I cant call back. I had stock rom, custom rom, I did reset, do not know what to try, something like has happened to anyone? sorry for my english.
This sounds like a network problem. You can try these troubleshooting steps:
1) Fully power down the phone- remove the battery and sim and let sit for a few minutes. Restart.
2) You could try calling with a different sim card.
3) Ensure you have proper reception - Even if I have full bars, I have similar problems if I am indoors. Going outside usually fixes it.
Hope this helps!

Hi All,
I have this strange problem on Nexus 5.
When i call a person, if i activate the speakerphone or i use headset, the other person cannot hear me.
I tried with rooted and stock rom and i have the same problem.
I sent the mobile 2 times to LG and they said that everything is working fine. But it is not. Any other person in this forum had the same problem? If yes how can be possible to fix?
Thanks a lot

what apps do you have installed that might mess with the phone capabilities or with sound.
Hi,
thank you for answer.
I didn't install anything. It's just the stock ROM. Just installed the sim card and tried to call.
How did you flash stock? I'm talking about factory images. And this happens with everyone?
I followed google instructions. and yes it happens with everyone.
I installed now an app called soundmeter to check if the microphone is working.
When i'm not in speakerphone or headset it is working (values around 20 and 70db, depending how loud i talk).
When i start speakerphone the values are on 60db with no movement at all.
Can be a software problem or hardware problem?
I sent to lg support 2 times and they told that everything is working.
I really don't know what to do about.
i got the same its really strange...
I tried several roms, Kernals and mods nothing helps...
I have also bought a new sim card because i was thinking maybe it wasa this problem but nothing.
Is there any test or workaround that i can do to search the problem and fix it?
LG doesn't want to replace my device.
While going through the steps, have you tried looking at/grabbing logcat output? Some useful output might be there.
Have you tried another phone app?
Hi,
this is the logcat file.
Hope i have everything you need. What filter can I use to see only what needed?
Thanks
I've been using the phone for almost 7 months now, the problem never occurred until a couple of days ago. In both incoming and outgoing calls, the other party can't hear me, not at all. I cut it and call them again, then it's okay. This problem, however, vanishes if I'm using a headphone or loudspeaker, but whenever I switch from the headphone/loudspeaker to hands-on, the problem immediately starts again. I've tried restarting the phone, doesn't help. Has anyone faced this issue? I heard in one place that a factory reset might be helpful, I'm not quite sure whether I should go for it. Can anyone tell me whether it's a software or a hardware level problem? Because this problem does not occur when I'm using Viber or Skype, it only occurs when I'm calling from my carrier number. Any help will be much appreciated.
I am having a similar if not the same problem. Phone is basically unusable. Going to try the low mic fix in this forum. Only other bit of info I'd add is I'm on AT&T.

OK, So I have flashed the low mic volume fix successfully, and though the problem was intermittent before, I have yet to see the issue persisting past the "fix".
