[Q][Application] lagfix(fstrim) - Samsung Galaxy Core

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone of you have ever tried lagfix(fstrim) on our core, it promises great speed improvement, but have the risk of hard bricking your phone, there was also this app from chainfire to detect if your phone has the possibility to be bricked but since our core is still somewhat new in the market, it wasn't able to detect if our phone is compatible or not. So if anyone has ever tried it. Please do tell and give me some info if it really improves our phone, thanks!

Never tried it sorry.

[Q] Data disconection

Hello everyone I have myself, a xoom, running the latest 3.1 software, uprooted, and using a tmobile uk sin card. The problem is am having constant and very frustrating data disconnections, on my xoom. This happens about every 5 minutes, when am using anything that requires a data connection n my xoom, and the data just hangs, result of which, I have to turn on flight mod on and off to get the data working again, and yu can imagine, how frustrating this can be if am having to do this every 5 minutes or so, so please I want to know if anyone else experiences the same, or its only my xoom, in which case I would have to possibly have to get in touch with motorola. Thank you looking forward to your help.

It started happening after the last update. I hope they fix it on the next release.

Thanks for your replies, are they aware of this? Anyone knows how to contact them.
I guess this is happening across the board. I am just lucky that it isn't happening as often as it is for you.

Thanks has anyone been in touch with motorola?
Sounds like u guys would be better off tethering from ur phones or the people that have them. I have a Wi-Fi Xoom and i just tether to my phone.
Please thank me if I helped.

Need advise to know if it's better to root.

My sister phone is being having lots of problems with this phone, dropping calls, low volumes, and this keeps happening with every phone tmo sends her, she is on the third phone that tmo sends her.
So question is. Is it a good idea to root and install a custom rom?.
I have the knowledge to how to do S- OFF and HBOOT.
Thanks in advance.

I know my phone has responded a LOT faster (loading and running apps, doing multiple things at once, longer battery life) with a custom ROM. (I use Android Revolution for TMO).
In general, yes. Rooting will give you a happier phone experience with more control over the hardware so you can better diagnose and fix problems.
The dropping calls thing could be an issue of the radio software the stock phone is using in your area. Different radio software can have dramatic effects in various parts of the country. Of course, you could also just be in a crappy coverage area, and no amount of software updates will fix that.
The low call volume is something that plagues the Sensation. There's nothing wrong with the device your sister has. That's just what it does. Rooting and installing custom ROMs and / or apps designed to boost the volume (Volume+ is one, if I'm not mistaken) can easily fix that problem.
However, rooting could also mak eit tougher to continue getting replacements if something continues to go wrong. It sounds like your sister just isn't happy with the phone. After a few exchanges T Mobile will start to entertain the idea of swapping your phone with a different model. Consider that too, as your sister may just be unhappy with the Sensation.

[Q]Acer LiquidE

Ok. I have looked around and haven't found much on the Acer LiquidE. I know its older and not that great of a phone.
My sister bought one to replace her Nexus that she smashed and when trying to do updates and stuff on it it comes up saying "error, no network connection". Have tried it on wifi and 3G.
Anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem? Or if their is a custom Rom or kernel that I can flash to it?
This can be deleted. Found out that their is an extremely high risk of the Acer being bricked and from what i have read its virtually unbrickable.

Android Unrelated - Windows 7 Problem PCI Error

So I started my laptop again after having it shut down for a few hours and then a random
"PCI Error" occured and I dont know what to do. Even with my 4 years in IT apparently they didnt give a sh** about teaching me in this subject.. well anyway. I cant find a solution whatsoever and since it runs on a HP skin it makes things a lot more difficult to configure.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Also I'm sorry this isnt Android Related stuff but I need to get this work

[Q] Touch screen is not working!!!

my xperia tipo was overheated and shutdown..after this touch is not working at all & it just has remained a plastic box.
is this a hardware failure or the software?
Another problem is my mobile is rooted....so is there any possibility that it was affected by the rooting.
How do you overheat your phone? Overclocked and constantly running at 1,5 GHz???
And did it just shut down, or did it give you a warning?
Getting to the question: most likely it's a hardware problem. You can only test by flashing a stock .ftf for your device. I'm on phone, so I can't help you with a guide. Use Google.
If the flashing worked, it was a software problem. And otherwise, yeah, dead hardware.
I just have to ask, how did you overheat it...
Have a nice day!
