As of about two weeks now, my Google services connection sync and even Gtalk never stay on consistently. Data icon goes from green to gray, after wakeup. hen when it is green, I only then start to receive me push notifications. I never had this problem before and was very happy with the Nexus S. Now, however, I'm not so sure about that anymore, and it's a consensus out there that there is no solution, and that Google is "looking" into the problem. I don't think it's necessarily a hardware issue as everything was fine out of the box when I first got my phone, so its likely a Google server problem? Though it sounds like the problems are isolated to Nexus devices and myTouch 4G phones.
I would call Samsung to try to get a replacement device, but from what I hear, it doesn't solve the problem either, and Samsung's CS really sucks too.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am going through the same trouble, too. I think its more of Google server related. One thing tthat I am sure is, it started very recently. About 3 weeks ago.

I have the same issue. It started a few weeks back. Got the 2.3.4 ota...same issue. Came from 2.3.2.
It's been happening to me for a while as well. Even back in 2.3.3 when I was on CM7 and OEM. I seriously think it's a problem on Google's side and they really need to address it because it keeps logging me off of Gtalk which is annoying.
Funny thing is. I notice that it happens alot less when I'm using 2g only....
Wonder if there is something to that..

I am having the same problem since around mid April. This is so frustrating, please guys flood the google help forums, this the only way google will see the seriousness of the problem.

Flood indeed. Google is clueless on a solution to this problem, especially if they don't even acknowledge it..

Yeah I stay green if I'm on 3g, so maybe it's a wifi issue. I would've sworn it was a 2.3.4 issue though.
highly doubtful that this is a wifi issue, with the number of people of various threads stating that they dont even use wifi....worse yet it occurs regardless of wifi or 3g/2g
i posted a video on youtube showing the problem
http://youtu.be/axpyhgdvuMs
i have the same issue, both of my nexus 1 and tmo G2
sometimes when i unlock the lockscreen it doesnt work, i have to lock it and unlock it again to get it working (this usually happen when im playing games or when i just unlock it...

You may need to try BROWSING the sections, too. It's been asked a million times.
Non-rom specific touchscreen driver issue it is suspected.
Some people experience it, some don't.
I, for one, haven't, but many people have.
well when you put the topic of the thread it gives you some similar options to your problem and no one of the options was even close to my request so thats why i did it.. can you give the link where was asked the same question as me please?
thank you
Bumb...........!!
Will the touchscreen driver also make parts of the screen non responsive randomly? I am having that happen to me and wondering if I should try and exchange it.
Running Cm7 nightly in case thatd help
I've had this problem on multiple roms.
I've had this issue on multiple roms as well it's not horrible at all though just have to touch it a second time. the weird thing is I can pretty much predict it for example when scrolling through my apps in tibu it gets stuck at the same spot every time. and also the xda app on the first scroll. it's been discussed many times but I'll throw it out there again. NOT A ROM ISSUE, HTC ISSUE. MANY PHONES ARE AFFECTED. don't stress over it

I've literally, JUST asked this question like 3days ago. Its not even 2pages deep in this thread.... but instead of leaving it at that, ill still try and help,
What I was told is, the USB is somehow damaged, pins touching each other or something similar to that effect, if GENTLY cleaning it doesn't solve the problem, you'll have to replace the port yourself, (10$ part, some soldering tools/skill, and patience,) or RMA it. I personally am going to repair it. Part should be here in a couple days. And ill let you know how it goes.
Also, idk if you've tried it yet or not. But the problem with the USB extends beyond an annoying USB notification, it thinks its ALWAYS plugged in, making it difficult to power back on if shut off. And making it difficult to get into recovery mode(because it thinks its plugged in, so it goes to download mode.) >.< I hope this helps, search my profile to find my other thread if you feel like it, but it won't be much help.
Sorry if this isn't good news :-(

OK buddy, I've got an update for ya, wasn't too hard, but I was able to replace the port on my phone. You just gotta be SUPER patient, and don't let the board heat up too much. And it worked! If you need tips or have questions feel free ;-)

Thanks, if you can shoot me a message on what is needed an how to approach fixing it that would be great, I ran into another problem and I believe its caused by the same USB problem, the screen went completely black this is the second time and second phone that has had USB issues then turns into screen going black.

I am trying to upgrade my stock 2.2 Froyo phone to 2.3 Gingerbread through Kies, using a MacBook Pro.
I am running Mac OSx 10.6.8 and can not get my phone to be recognized by Kies Mini, despite trying every configuration of USB options.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue? I also cannot even mount my SD card anymore, even if I choose "mass storage," so perhaps my problems are rooted somewhere else?
Any help is appreciated, I have tried searching XDA as well as other forums, Google, Samsung/TMo's sites, to no avail.
TY in advance!
Look a couple of posts down

Have you followed the mac installation guide on the official T-Mobile site that has the kies download link?

That is what I have tried following, with nothing going on. Finally, after several tries of going into "Kies (Firmware Update)", Kies Mini gave me an error msg that said "current connection mode is not supported by kies."
Do you use a mac?
TY
Oh and to the first responder, I looked at everything on the page when you said that. Thanks for wasting my time. Saw nothing remotely related or helpful, except for someone with a rooted phone having trouble in "download mode," which I can't even get to. My phone is legit stock -- because I am lazy, etc.
"The device is not supported by Kies Mini."
I'm not a Mac guy, so I can't really help there. Given that it's even having issues in mass storage makes me wonder if you would have the same problem on a different Mac or a PC. Would you have the chance to try that?
I use Macs, and honestly I only used Odin on a friends PC to initially install Gingerbread, since then I've been downloading my roms and other files directly to the phone and using CWM to do everything. I'm done trying to use my Mac with this phone since Samsung doesn't support isync as they should.
I'm just waiting for the devs here to get their new roms up before upgrading to the official build.

wasting your time? There's like ten recent posts with people unable to update. with many solutions. I think your last statement says it all.
If you have windows on a virtual machine try Odin. Other than not using another PC, you may be sol..

Yeah ok well thank you for being so helpful then. Ended up having to use an old XP computer at a friend's. It took forever, but I have gingerbread now. I am running stock with Screen Filter set at about 40% most of the time, and I am getting INSANE battery. Like I have not used it too much at work but I would usually have about 40% right now, maybe lower because I have been checking it periodically/texting.
I am 90% at 3 p.m... 7 hours after I took it off of the charger... Is this what I should have been getting all along? Did I have a virus or just a really ****ty battery hogging app? My phone used to always say it was the screen using all of the battery power.
Or is my phone calculating more battery than it really has?
Glad you got it working! Enjoy the crazy battery life. How fast it goes down really depends on usage per person but I believe most people reported better battery on GB vs. Froyo.
I tend to turn off my wifi when not in use, GPS is always off, display brightness is at the minimum, etc - basic things one can do to help the battery life. I've not attempted the under-volting or anything others have used to get even more life from the battery.
Ok. I have looked around and haven't found much on the Acer LiquidE. I know its older and not that great of a phone.
My sister bought one to replace her Nexus that she smashed and when trying to do updates and stuff on it it comes up saying "error, no network connection". Have tried it on wifi and 3G.
Anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem? Or if their is a custom Rom or kernel that I can flash to it?
This can be deleted. Found out that their is an extremely high risk of the Acer being bricked and from what i have read its virtually unbrickable.
