The word freezer and oven come up so much times

What the hell were you doing on a apple forum
anyway, you know: if you are a driver, you buy an android device; if you are a passenger, you buy an iphone

Apple is far ahead of Android now ..... but i hope android will reach soon.

Haha I love the freezer trick. I'll have to try it the next time I'm in boot loop instead of Odin

Normally, I would just say, "Get a new phone." But since an unlocked iPhone 5S costs $849.99... let's just say Apple fanboys are usually poor. :cyclops:

I was on those forums recently reading the same thing because my girlfriends replacement iPhone 4s fried the wifi right after doing the update (first unit was a year old and had some software glitches but Telus offered to just order a new one from applecare). Anyway since the phone was still under warranty I did not try the freezer trick. She's on her third iPhone 4s now, hope third time is a charm.

I've bought a android phone, not because I could not afford an IPhone...
I consider the IPhone a sub-quality product (by my standards).
I would be counter-sense to put something that resembles something sub-par, to my android system.

I don't think of the iphone as sub-quality. I just hate the whole mac software/hardware stack.

Although no one here is willing to say it, many people buy androids as they cannot afford an iPhone.
I guess this is an alternative for them, but most wouldn't know how to do it in the first place.
I for one prefer Android after using a relatives iPhone for a few days, just didn't get along with it. (Keyboard started to stick for some reason.)
99/100 people on these android forums would say that Android is better, that's all I'm saying, you're preaching to the converted here pal
the ui seems to be smoother than ics and that lured me to use it any speedy rom to suggest?
Many people here are not to poor to buy a iPhone.
First of all a lot of people buy the nexus phones outright.
Second of all any new higher end Android device launches at the same or higher price point then the iPhone.
Yes there are budget/cheaper phones. That is a good thing. Some people just don't want a dumphone but also don't want the latest and greatest.
That entire to poor for a iPhone is nothing butt stupid BS that iPhone fanboy children say.
Also most of the world ends up buying their devices outright period. Don't matter if its iPhone android blackberry or a dumb phone.

My opinion but im sure alot of people with android phones agree

All of them.
They are all good. The best one is the one that meets your needs.
I don't like iOS because you can't do **** on it... doesn't mean the UI of iOS is bad, so why bash on a ROM meant to look similar to the UI of iOS with the upsides of an android device? so how all this iphone bashing came into play when the OP was asking about a ROM makes no sense...
iOS UI is not bad... just that android interface is too good to beat them, personally i was asking about this rom concerning about the speed cuz this rom seems to be real quick like no lag at all. ICS for the nexus s is awesome but every single time i try to open my dialer i have to wait about 30 secs and this annoys me

"Apple, have it their way. Android, have it your way."

Hi guys, I found this on the web...
"Many have the saying “Apple have it their way, Android have it your way.” Wrong, Apples mobile operating system needs not to compete with Android as the operating systems top rated UI which never crashes has become the worlds most popular mobile device operating system. The reliability of iOS totally thwarts the unfriendly confusing and crash-prone UI and in general system of Android."
I don't think so.... Android sells 47% of their phones and Apple sells 30% of their phones and the rest are RIM etc....
You only just realized ANDROID RULE

Simplicity and stability is iphone...Customisable, amazing, refreshing and evolving is android...I prefer the later
I don't even see them as competing to people to people who know tech, they are too different animals.
In my opinion if you're going to run bone stock and never want to know anything about your phones operating system or customize anything, the iPhone is the way to go, like for old people and stuff. However if you enjoy changing things, high performance hardware and software, constantly pushing the envelope of performance, and having options for configurations and OS versions, Android is definitely the way to go.
Of course we are a very small majority of consumers who buy smart phones, so both companies need to market their gimmicks. But I think for different demographics they both have their advantages. Of course for us on this forum the phones advantages aren't feared towards us.

Why iPhone applications or games always ahead android?

Hi all,
I've been a both android and iPhone user. And for now I've switched back to android for Galaxy S3 because it has much bigger screen and wanna try how fast it is. However, it's my feeling I think not quite different from 4S, even 4S can respond fast in every game and application compared to galaxy. I don't know why... just feel like that during the time I use it.
One more thing is that I wonder why almost every game or application under the same name from iPhone, got available ahead of android and most of them have much more features and quality than android as well, eg., asphalt 7....
Sometimes, I feel so sad about this...
So I am waiting to read about all of your opinions on this matter...
Thanks,

It's because of the I in front of it. Apple have hacked the Android Play Store to check an online database of Iphone Apps, and if any developer tries to put an app on the Play store, the Apple Virus checks if the same app is already available for the Iphone. If it's not, it will delay the Android app in Stealth mode, and send the sourcecode to Apple. Apple will then convert the app for IOS, put an I in front of the name, and release it for Iphone. As soon as they do, the name with the I in front of it gets transferred to the remote database, signaling the Apple virus that this particular app is now available on Iphone, and it's safe to come out of Stealth mode and release the app into the Play Store, but upon release, the virus cuts out 2 or 3 random features. They did this so they can claim that they always have apps faster then Android, and with more features. Now you know.
Apple has a very limited set of devices which they have to support in their OS. Thus much more optimization can be done to "smooth" such things. That said, I find JB with Project Butter quite impressive in this regard.
But with owning a non-Nexus Samsung device you are not in the best hands regarding non-bloated and smooth firmwares.

Hmm, like what you said I should go to one "smooth" is better then holding many types of devices which is good only in shapes and spec but doesn't have quality. I still don't know how Google encourage their 3rd party devs to make one good app or game for android. As to hacker307 said seem play store is a cow-don't fix.

I regularly eat apples. Sometimes they tell me stuff.
Apple has far better system integration with their line of products. A good example is the iPhone 4S which has inferior spec compared with similar priced Android phones, but still it runs much more smooth than most of the android phone. Because every iPhone 4S is exactly the same, so software developer knows exactly how their software will perform on those units, and hence much more easier to optimize performance.
As to why iOS games is always ahead of Android, I believe that has a lot to do with the eco system of AppStore and Google Play respectively. iOS is more profitable than Google, but that is just my guess.
I can't understand what u have found about this two devices. I own an ipod 4th gen and I can say that my galaxy s plus is faster. I know iphone is the most beautiful but not the best at specs... I am sorry my friend. Also about the hacking is correct...

I think you are right, that is the reason. Dev`s tend to develop apps/games to get the most profit first.
I believe that all apple devices are pretty much the same since the first one so so application's can be made more quickly and easily. But android phones are made by different companies using different hardware so harder for developers

First Impression of Android?

What was your first impression of the Android OS? Mine was a paranoid thought of an OS named Android....thinking it would be a form of social control.....
I found out about it from television ads regarding different model cell phones. When I finally saw the UI, my first thought was an iOS ripoff. That seems like such a long time ago. Now I know better and I'm thankful for such a widespread open source OS that is smashing barriers as we speak!

Lol....but in all seriousness....once I quickly learned what Android was like, it blew me away. I was totally turned off of the iOS when I received an iPod touch in December of 2009. I'll admit the device itself was pretty cool (hardware wise) and seemed "high tech" to me at the time. The UI was smooth and the display was bright and clear.
After that initial "wowness" wore off it was time to get down to business with one of the aspects of the device, playing music files. I quickly learned that the files had to be in the .aac format which was a little irritating but after some reading I learned that I would have to download the iTunes PC application for music conversion and other tasks. Finally downloaded the PC application and learned I would HAVE to input a credit or debit card number to set up an iTunes account to get free apps. At that point I knew nothing about newer gadgets. So I got rid of the iPod because I refused to enter in that information.
Android on the other hand is not like that, mp3s play, real free software w/o strings attached and a lot more options!

We had experiences with the iPhone 3G and wow it was pretty great. Then one of us got the Galaxy S Captivate and it was really great as well. Data with HSPA+ just blew the iPhone away; no contest. And now we have this Apple vs Android battle all over the globe but when we started playing around with Android Dev boards (BeagleBoard for example) and with mainline Linux vs Android, the opportunities for communities to just tear open the commercial market are pushing mobile computing in such a great direction.
The turning point for us was being able to take a microSD with android putting it into the BeagleBoard, having it run; and then subsequently taking it out, putting another microSD card in it this time with Linux compiled for ARM with Arch Linux. At that point, we saw Android in a completely different light. I mean the plug and play abilities of those peripheral drivers alone...having that kind of device knowing that the backing to it is largely a Linux device kind of instills a level of confidence in both security (by the nature of open source whistle blowers) and in performance. Can't wait til Android becomes more than just a phone/tablet OS...give us more Android watches, Android clocks, Android cars; perhaps not in it's current implementation, but a derivative thereof. I personally will take Android and everything it stands for over Apple products that we can't tinker with.

Personally I blame the OEMs. If done right, Android would be no different in lag/latency down to the low level code than a well built JVM on top of a Linux kernel. But as a consumer...I agree; it is unfortunate that Android is subject to bad software design and to make it worse, Android is open to bad design down to the implementation of the SDK.
Overall though I think I would rather encourage Android to get cleaner than Apple to get more open.

If anyone could port it that would BE INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING !
I know a lot of people are asking that, but yeah if people are asking that that's because the demand is here ! So why saying no ?

Because Apple lawyers would eat you alive rather than letting you have some freedom of choice except black/white color and wallpaper, maybe? BTW, you have joined XDA just to ask this? OMG, I'm LMAO right now...

because porting is not that easy..
i m nt a developer bt porting any os would first requiring unlocking the bootloader which i guess is not possible wid iphone5.
ios is beautiful why wanna change that??
Because average iPhone users can't care less. As Apple will say, it just works, well good enough for most people not to care.
Apple = simplicity / terrible for development
Android = more complicated / developer-friendly
I use my iPad mainly for surfing the web, since you can't really do much with that thing, even if you are jailbroken.
Locked bootloaders prevent ANY type of porting. The most I can do for a different look is to install Dreamboard themes.
Android on the other hand is perfect for making small tweaks and installing new / pre-alpha apps.
Or you can choose not to mess around too much.
In short, Android on iPhone = next to impossible.
Still, if you dare http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Android-Into-an-iPhone,
Only for older devices though, and judging from your response, I don't think you are up to the job. Just saying...
Not possible also......
It would be too complicated for Apple users.
iphone 5 isnt nowhere near build quality as android phones,..and it just started using 4'' screens last year. by the time they get 4.5'' screens, samsung will have flexible display or curved glass device out, and apple phones are boring and useless..notice i didnt mention anything about android screen size, because i dont see a future of big-ass-phone trend continuing in the mainstream market..
Main reason people won't do it is because they can't. Simple. There's a type of encryption Apple uses in a certain part of their OS and no one has been able to figure it out

Oh i understand !
I have a Iphone 5 and a Nexus 7
I really love android beacuse you can mod, install many emulator without rooting !
I stay on iphone because i can't find a beautiful adroid smartphone .. they all suck with BIG porthole on the back , i hate that !
They can't make simple phone that's why i love apple stuff ..
Because its far too difficult to do and rather pointless as now a days there is far superior and more beautiful hardware that runs android natively. Yes that is subjunctive but I can't stand most everything about apple and don't see the iPhone 5 as anything more than a copy of the last few models, its old and boring.
If there were bad hardware only for droids than maybe someone would care enough to spend the countless hours it would take to do this, but I can't imagine anyone who would have the talent, the time, and the reason to do this
Sorry, but I'm afraid this is a lost cause....

Personally i wouldn't want it since the screen size is so small. I will agree that their build quality is still very nice though.
if you want android then why the hell you buy a iPhone??
Android OS requires common sense and basic logic, like many OS's, this is just one thing any apple device could not comprehend.
Putting android on a iPhone is like putting a diamond into a freash pile of steaming dog crap....ur taking a superior software and sticking into a 3 year outdated hardware....that got released this year and was passed off as the latest and greatest to apple fan boys who r to busy juggling a latte and a iPhone to do research to see there buying crap lol....apple rant plus one!
