[Q] Moto G Screen won't turn on after reboot - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
This morning when I restarted the Moto G, the phone screen stopped powering on. Basically, these are the steps that happen each time I restart the phone:
1) Phone displays Bootloader Unlocked warning (Yes the phone is rooted)
2) The moto boot screen comes up with various Moto Logos.
3) The screen won't turn on. Keeps flashing every once in a while.
4) The charging LED won't come on.
The phone is unusable as of now. The battery was 100% when I did the restart. The factory reset does not work either. The recovery does not come up either. I am really not sure what other than taking it to the service center I must do to rescue it.
Any ideas.... Need help badly on this.
P.S.: The phone is back at home and have left it on to run down the battery. So I would know only by tomorrow morning latest if running down the battery and plugging the charger would work.
Thanks in Advance.

Solution
For those who are looking for a solution to this, power on your Moto G and let it discharge completely. Recharge completely and then restart. The phone shall work fine.

[Q] Samsung Nexus SCH151 -- Desperately Need Advice

Hello Everyone,
I'd be eternally grateful for any technical advice and wisdom anyone that can help with my issue! I have a previously rooted phone that I have to return for a warranty, but the bootloader is unlocked and I can't lock it again.
Here is the problem, my phone completely shuts off about 10 seconds after the screen turns off. It's a full shut down, not just the screen not turning back on.
Some other symptoms:
My phone won't power on while it's plugged into the wall outlet. I have to remove it from the charger for it to turn on. But it will charge while the phone is ON and I plug it into the wall outlet afterwards.
My phone will automatically shut off when I plug it into any USB cable connected to a computer that's on (however, it doesn't automatically shut off if I plug it into the wall charger while it's on)
When I press power and volume down for ODIN or volume up + volume down for the bootloader screen, both screens will only show up briefly, then the phone will immediately shut down. I can't access either menus.
I have tried swapping out my battery with my wife's, and it does the same thing. Her phone works perfectly fine with my battery, mine doesn't work with either. (We have the same phone).
I rooted my phone a little less than a year. It became unrooted quite a while back when I accidentally ran a stock update. I never messed with it since. I'm EXTREMELY rusty with rooting and custom firmware and flashing, etc., so I apologize in advance.
I'm terrified because I'm sending out my phone under that Samsung warranty because all of my tech sense tells me there's a hardware issue going on; it's not my fault. However, aren't they going to see the big "Unlock" icon under the google logo when they get my phone, and immediately say I have a voided warranty? The representative said they'd charge me $300 if they phone was "damaged".
I almost wish my phone were a complete brick and wouldn't turn on at all. But at this point without access to a bootloader menu and my phone being unrooted and not able to work with it on my computer, I'm not sure what I can do.
It's already restored completely to factory defaults through the android interface. But that "unlock" icon is still there when it boots.
Anyone have any advice for me at all? Again, if my terminology is off or I'm not being clear in some way, I apologize. Let me know and I'll clarify and/or give any more information required.
I have about three days to figure this out before the prepaid shipping box and my new phone gets here.
Thanks so much in advance.
Sincerely,
Darkencypher
Just for clarification, its the Samsung Galaxy Nexus SCH-I515.
Thanks
Darkencypher
Last chance
As I'm running short on time before my new phone gets here, I figured I'd give it another shot at seeing if anyone out there knows how to help me.
I'm nervous that the "unlock" logo that appears below the Google logo when I boot my samsung galaxy nexus means that my warranty is void. I was able to restore it back to factory defaults, but I can't remove that "unlocked" icon because the phone is so severely disabled in its current state do to some hardware problem that keeps it shutting off.
I'd settle for anyone even knowing how to turn my phone into a paperweight at this point. I'd rather it not turn on at all when they get it lest they see I've unlocked my phone and void my warranty even though I'm certain I have a hardware problem due to manufacturer defect.
Also, on a side note if anyone reads this and knows a little bit more about troubleshooting phones based on symptoms: I downloaded a program called Wake Lock and set it to keep the CPU running in the background even when the screen is off. It doesn't appear to shut off anymore when the screen turns off.
Thanks again,
Darkencypher

Moto G won't turn on :(

Hey guys, something happened to my Moto G this morning and now it won't turn on. This has happened to me previously as well where the battery drained and charging it sorted the problem out.
But this time the battery was fully charged and now it won't turn on, neither does the screen light up when I connect it to the charger (with the 0% battery logo).
Something to note - I got an update from the play store for Motorola Boot Services. My phone restarted once and showed me the new boot animation (World Cup). Then it just went dead. Not sure if this has to do something with it.
I was running stock with an unlocked bootloader, root and twrp. XT1033 dual SIM.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Any way to at least get the phone back to stock so I can take it back to Motorola.

The phone just won't turn on. Not even bootloader mode. Strangely the phone feels warm as if it is being used. I'm going to let it stay and hopefully it will completely drain out and then I'll try charging it.

Try again, with the device connected to the charger. This should perform a reset and a force boot, so it's just like removing the battery, If no luck, try to recover your bootloader by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623587
Press power and volume down keys for about 30-45 seconds and then release. This will turn of the device and then reboot to bootloader automatically. If this doesnt work, it should be a problem with the screen.
I've updated my boot services today and it didn't cause any trouble so far.
My advice is to leave it for few hours on the charger if it's really showing the charging picture and it shows 0% there.

[Q] How to Load Androis ios to phone

Sorry if i cant make a threat about this here.
I was wondering how to load android ios to my motorola droid ultra.
I was factory reseting my phone, since the phone had issues with shutting off randomly, well it shut off in the middle of the process, so i have a soft bricked phone. Wont boot up to anything since it doesnt have nothing to boot up to, sincei t turned off in the middle of reseting the phone.
I went to hard reset after it happend, and clicked to recovey, but theres no recovery either.
Is there a way i can load androi to it via odin or something? Dont want to buy another mother board to swap it. Thanks...

Can it boot to bootloader?
The Dirtydee Z3
Now its good to go, booted up to normal .
I think the issue is the battery tho.
Randomly it shuts off... It wont turn unless i insert the charger, if i remove it it ****s off. Sometimes when its on and the charger is inserted the battery level shows 100%. Other tines if the phone turns on without the charger battery level says 65% but if i insert the charger it shows as 100% again. I also read that it can be over heating thats why it shuts iff randomly but it shuts off every 10 to 20 mns or even less..
Any ideas?

[Q] Battery Dead

So on Saturday i decided to update my Moto G (XT1032) to 4.4.4 KitKat so i could upgrade to Lollipop. After the update was over the phone immediately shut down and wouldn't boot up, so i left it charging overnight. In the morning(Sunday) the phone didn't boot up either so i left it to discharge until the next morning(Monday). So i leave it charging while i was out and when i came back i tried to do the solution provided by Motorola and a white LED started blinking but other than that the phone didn't boot up.Is there anything else i can try or am I missing something here?(p.s i handed it over to a friend and he disconnected the battery from the board and since then the LED started blinking)

trying pressing all the keys (volume up + volume down +power button) for 5 seconds and release it to get in to the bootloader, so then you can adb a custom recovery
I cant get into the bootloader
When you connect it to a Windows machine, is it recognized in device manager as something resembling "qhsusb_bulk"?
If it is, it is hard bricked.
Was the phone's bootloader unlocked? Were you running a custom recovery or rooted?
The PC recognizes the phone(like Moto G) and yes the bootloader was unlocked but i was running stock both firmware and recovery
Also no i wasnt rooted
The PC recognizes the phone in its current state as a moto g? That's good. Maybe you need to let it charge again and try to get into fastboot.
I let it charge for like 15 hours and still only a blinking light...well at least it aint dead
It doesn't seem to want to charge and it's recognized as a moto g when connected to your computer? I'd bet it isn't hard bricked, just soft bricked.

Try a different charger because sometimes I can't charge my phone when its empty with a certain charger but once I use a iPad power adapter it works and then I can charge using my usual charger
Funny thing is that both of my chargers are Apple chargers(with the original motorola usb cable ).So should i just leave it for like a week discharge or let it charge until it finally powers on?
Also if it is a soft brick what would you recommend?
I'd say left it charge over night.
Is the bootloader unlocked?
Yes the bootloader was unlocked
Any luck getting into fastboot?
No luck...still the only thing that shows up its the LED light
When you connect the phone to your Windows computer, is it seen as qhsb or some sort of weird device? If it is, it sounds like it is hard bricked.
Actually i was asked about this in this post (1st page)and no it doesnt show anything like qhsb
I asked again because things may have changed.
I'm at a loss as to why it is recognized as a Moto G by your computer even though it won't turn on.
I tried the freezer thing and the LED stopped blinking for a while and was stable
Is it recognized by your computer as a moto g? I'm not sure how it could since it can't be turned on.

[Moto G7 Power] No Service, Can't Charge, Shutdown on Unplug

The phone has no service, displays "plugged in, won't charge", and as soon as I unplug the charger in any manor the phone powers down but not due to a lack of battery life. The phone takes a charge just fine while turned off.
I discovered a work around for this issue, I restart into the Bootloader and press start and for some reason the phone functions normally as far as I can tell at least until it's reset. I get service, it charges, and it doesn't shut off when unplugged.
My best guess is it's stuck in some sort of Demo/Factory mode. I have an app that I'm unsure if is normal to see called "CQATest". Any ideas on what could be going on here?
Bit of background: Got the phone off ebay from here "ebay.com/itm/254489827106" I've done a factory reset, tried restarting the phone both in and out of fastboot (oem unlocked/locked). I've spoke with Motorola and can replace it under warranty, however I would rather just fix it.
Try flashing stock firmware first.

If you want to see "CQATest" mode, just reboot phone into fastboot, choose the menu to boot in to "CQATest"
