[Q] How to delete S-Note templates? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to delete the installed S-Note templates?
I NEVER use any of the templates, only the basic S-Note. But, whenever I touch the + sign, all of these templates pop up when I would like it to just go directly to a blank note.
I've tried searching for the templates in the OS but haven't been able to find them.
I'm using a Galaxy 10.1 2013 model running stock OS.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] iAnnotate & SPen

Hello,
I need to anotate a pdf file. It's a big file and SNote is not suitable (i.e., very long to import/export the file).
So I plan to use iAnnotate. My problem is I would like to activate only the SPen sensitivity (i.e., not my hand) like in SNote. Is there a way to do it?
Thank you by advance!

Awesome Note shouldn't be includedhere, it doesn't even have native handwriting recognition.
Papyrus is very good to me, just easy to use , quick UI, with S-pen support, finger eraser, and even multi-window support.
notes mobile has flaws, but the recognition is the best I've used.
I prefer Evernote for general notes taking and Skitch for annotations. I'll use S-Note if I want to use the pen for hand writen notes or drawing, and export to Evernote if it's something I want to sync to other devices.
Quil'is UI is too chunky, like trying to use a WIMP app, where as S-Note is uber-optimized for using the S-Pen. Sometime I'll try Papryus again or Lecture Notes but honestly, I've little need to since S-Note works beautifully.

I just got my Note but wasnt sure how to export my notes within S-Note to Evernote....is there a specific way to do this or are you just sharing the note via text to Evernote? Thanks
I feel sad that I'm still on S-Note.

Syncing s-note to evernote is a PITA. In snote settings under accounts you will see evernote as an option if you have the app installed but AFAICT this sync doesn't work as one would expect, So, I personally prefer to just do my note writing directly in Euernote even though templates are not an option. If you want You can export/share an snote as a pdf to evernote but it isn't an automatic sync.

You have to use the Share via or Export menu options (open note -> hit menu key; or long touch on a note (share via only)). On the main menu of S-Note you can also Import and Export.
Attempting to import or export will ask a format and for a source: My Files (their file manager), Google Docs, Evernote. It makes a Notebook and stack called Samsung_S_Note. At least for the S-Note/S-Memo formats (.snb) you can't even open the file in Evernote web and the app sees it as an attachment (${note name}.snb). I haven't experimented with PDF/Image export/import yet.
Really I think the best sync is probably the Samsung account, and a periodic export to somewhere else so that you have a backup in case Samsung screws up and clobbers your data.

Interestingly image file export results in just saving it to shared storage (e.g. /sdcard). Exporting as .snb and sending it up to Evernote, when I download it (after finally getting the web client to load the note files), I see a file path for a PNG file if I open it in vim, asking the Linux file utility it claims it is an OOXML file! As in what Microsoft Office 2007+ uses. Using the unzip utility:
Code:
$ file Download/King\ Foo\ sword\ and\ shield.snb
Download/King Foo sword and shield.snb: Microsoft OOXML
$ unzip -l Download/King\ Foo\ sword\ and\ shield.snb
Archive: /home/terry/Download/King Foo sword and shield.snb

Should add Handrite note Notepad Pro to your list. I have it but not used it very much however there are many here in the threads that seem to really like it.

I like the combination of simpleaf and quickpic for quick memos.
I love s-note but it takes a few steps to make memos readable by other apps.
It cant do funcy stuff like snote but it puts out jpegs as they are, which is very versatile.

my favorite note taking apps and how I string them toether.
HI, I already posted this to one of the forums about whether or note to get a note 8. I thought it could be of help here since note taking apps are the title. Most forums list usefull apps but here is how I string up all my usefull apps together for actual note taking...
I've been using the note 8 for a while now and if what you want is work and note taking...it's just perfect: here's my set up for note taking:
1) With multiwindow on...
2) EVERNOTE on the left panel (window). --yep EVERNOTE supports MULTIWINDOW hurray!!!!
3) Lecture notes on the right panel(window)
4) Audio Master Floating....floating around.
I know evernote has skitch but switching between this and the main app loses valuable time when you're taking down notes. it's much easier to jot down text on evernote and scribble into lecture notes (side by side)...then if you're done with the lecture, you can just export the entire lecture note scribble onto evernote and everything get's synchronized...plus if you don't wanna export to evernote...that's fine too since images are really a lot of data to upload.
I know evernote also has a built in recording function but again switching between that and the actual text app again loses valuable time, Audiomaster floating is fast, pumps up the voice recording volume (if the speaker is far) and you can save the audio under various formats...and it can record while you write....I know lecture notes has an audiorecorder as well but as I said, it's much faster to have all three options available instantaneously while taking down notes and that's all made possible by...the note 8.
final APPS:
5) ES file explorer, camera ace on your android phone and FOLDER SYNCLITE:
--SET up es file explorer as an FTP server on your phone or tablet and assign a folder to store all your lecture pics (to be taken for a particular lecture) using camera ace on your phone. Then set up folder sync lite to synchronize those folders between the note 8 and you're android phone...voilia...no more flailing around the large note 8 to take pictures,,,you can take pics with your camera phone (less bothersome) and synchronize it striaght to your note 8 to annotate powerpoint slides captured directly from the phone but edited more efficiently on the larger screen of the note 8 (no internet requiring drop box or other cloud storage service required). This one I haven't had the chance to do yet...But I believe it is possible...
I know all these individual apps are already available on other devices...but none of these even come close to the sheer..."multitasking behemoth" that is the note 8. Actually, the "behemoth" would be the note 10 (which is also great for that size category) so this would make the note 8 the porsche....really easy to slip into a large enough coat pocket (side pockets of course)....."
The rest of my original post, I removed cuz it was more about the note 8 as a gadget....this part was for the note taking apps.
Thanks for the heads up on Audio Master Floating.

I think the built-in Polaris Office with is the annotation feature is even better than the Lecture Notes app.
I use it to take add notes directly to the PowerPoint or sometimes I open a blank word worksheet in Polaris to take handwritten and/or text notes.
A great app for annotating PDF's is EzPDFReader.

[Q] Need help with EZpdf "Open in New Tab"

Recently I found out EZpdf Reader app has a feature "Open in New Tab". I love it.
However, when I tried to show my dad how to use it, the feature didn't work right in his tablet.
Normally when you tap the feature, options come up for file management/browser apps available on the device its running on. My dad and I both have ES File Explorer. Selecting the feature in EZpdf Reader on my tablet, the option shows up. Selecting the feature in EZpdf Reader on my dads tablet, it automatically opens "Downloads" to search for a desired PDF file. I tried to clear defualts, but EZpdf just doesnt seem to want to provide any other options for apps on my dads tablet. Can anyone help explain why this might be

[Q] How do i copy to Clipboard from Dial-er?

Hello,
I've been using Galaxy since S4 and this S6 is my 3rd and i love it.
I am having trouble trying to select a phone # from my Recent to my Clipboard.
I know it is something with the S6 because on my S5 w/ stock 5.0, i can do it.
In this S6, if i hold and press the # i want to copy, it only allow me to select for Delete.
Can someone help me please? am i doing something wrong?
I just want to copy a phone # in my Dialer to Clipboard on my S6!
i also want this option in contact list , any solution ??
also send number/contact as "Text" also missing from Messages , its sends as Vcard.
Same problem here. Seems like a major oversight. Anytime i have to remember or write something down while using a smart phone seems to me like a terrible failure in the design of the phone. Isn't that the point of a smart phone?

Website Maintenance on a Tablet PC

Hello Everyone,
I have a rooted Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-P580 with S Pen, with Marshmallow.
Right now I'm in the process of turning this tablet into my primary computer.
I have a website that I frequently update, that requires searching & replacing text in all .htm files.
Is anyone aware of an app (or other method) to search & replace a string of text in multiple .htm files on an android?
So far I haven't been able to find one. This is surprising because it seems lots of people would need this feature.
Here are a few apps that I've researched:
WebMaster's HTML. This does not have find & replace for multiple files.
QuickEdit Text Editor. This does not have find & replace for multiple files
DroidGrep. There is no option in this program to choose subdirectories.
Jota. All versions do not have this option.
Notepad ++. Some have said this program can search & replace text in multiple files in a directory. However, this may pertain to the desktop version.
For those of you who manage websites, how are you accomplishing this?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
