I've been using Galaxy since S4 and this S6 is my 3rd and i love it.
I am having trouble trying to select a phone # from my Recent to my Clipboard.
I know it is something with the S6 because on my S5 w/ stock 5.0, i can do it.
In this S6, if i hold and press the # i want to copy, it only allow me to select for Delete.
Can someone help me please? am i doing something wrong?
I just want to copy a phone # in my Dialer to Clipboard on my S6!
i also want this option in contact list , any solution ??
also send number/contact as "Text" also missing from Messages , its sends as Vcard.
Same problem here. Seems like a major oversight. Anytime i have to remember or write something down while using a smart phone seems to me like a terrible failure in the design of the phone. Isn't that the point of a smart phone?

Is there any way to delete the installed S-Note templates?
I NEVER use any of the templates, only the basic S-Note. But, whenever I touch the + sign, all of these templates pop up when I would like it to just go directly to a blank note.
I've tried searching for the templates in the OS but haven't been able to find them.
I'm using a Galaxy 10.1 2013 model running stock OS.

Hello, some of you may noticed it. There is a new section in Samsung's file manager software. It's a list of all accessed files "timeline"
How can I disable that? Or at least delete it contents from time to time?

Didn't find anything helpful via Google, so maybe someone here knows about it and can help me/us to disable it (my device isn't rooted if that is important to know)

No idea. When I delete all cache files from 'my files', 'gallery' and 'media storage' it also clear temporary this Timeline. But it will only last a few moments.
Any additional ideas where to look at are very welcome

My Samsung Galaxy S4 is infected by virus.
The virus loads a application that locks any inputs to the touch screen immediately after start up (brown section in the attached image).
It disable any input to the screen - meaning, you can't open any application as if the installed apps are protected by another transparent layer of application.
In the attached image, if displays "<app name> is Ready now!", and "Open" next to it. when you tap "Open", it will load the application, but you won't be able to do anything because input to the touch screen are all locked. Meaning the tap input is just not working.
It also disable the commands to the phone "Menu" and "Back" option that Samsung Galaxy S4 has. So, tapping any of these gives not activity.
The attached zip file have the folders (some with subdirectories and files inside) that this virus creates automatically at startup as follows:
GoAdSdk
Nearby
tessdata
wdh_update
sc5.txt
SessionTime.dat
These files are residing in the phone memory and listed like other app folders.
Even if you've deleted these files/folders via Explorer after accessing the phone via PC, they automatically get created at phone startup.
I wasn't able to open apps like Task Killer and be able to tell which apps are running in the background as this caught be by surprise.
Does anyone know where are the Startup Files for Samsung Galaxy S4 resides in the root directory. My thought is, if I delete the startup app for this virus in the startup folder, it will prevent it from starting up with the phone.
If possible, I would appreciate if one can upload a screen shot or startup app list for samsung so that I don't deleted the genuine critical ones. But I'm desperate in knowing the directory where these apps and startup apps for installed ones resides in the root folder.
I would appreciate any help that one can profide on this. I am only able to access the phone via MobileGo application by Wondershare.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. if it were me I'd flash the stock firmware with odin and return the phone to like new condition. That way you are assured that you'll get rid of the virus. you didn't mention what variant of the S4 you have so I can't point you in the right direction to get further help.
With the Note 4, you could use Smart Select and select text on the screen. It gave you the option to extract that text to use some where else. If it was an address, it gave you the option to get directions to that address. If it was a number, gave you the option to call it. Now you can only save it to the gallery, scrapbook or share it as a picture.
This is driving me bananas. Anyone come up work a remedy? I really miss this from the note 4 as this was my primary s pen usage.
You can get an app from the galaxy app store called optical reader, and then you can use it in the same way. You can either take a picture and extract the text or you can import a picture you have already taken or screen shot. It's the same as the one from the note 4 just separated into its own app.
Thanks for the reply Matt. I'm familiar with the optical reader app but it's not the same. 1, it requires you to do an extra step (go to the optical reader app) and 2, when you extract text from the app it doesn't immediately recognize different types of text ( addresses vs email addresses etc. ) and respond accordingly. Again, it does work if I'm simply looking to extract text from the photo but the brilliance of its usage on the Note 4 was in its functionality and efficiency.

Actually the same feature of Note 4 (and even Note 2) still works! You just should not use smart select from aircommand, but just push button on s-pen and select de text. Just had to allow permissions in smart select app for storage and contacts...
This on TMO stock Dec update.

Using that method you can just share or copy the text (or use Dictionary), you can't send the text right to maps or phone call. That what happens for me on stock dec update (TMO).
Hi! I'm a newbie in this forum. I need help on my samsung galaxy S2. It have problems and I don't know what to do.
The problems:
-Can't capture screenshot(s) and says storage is full, but there is 3,4 gb unused
-can't capture photo(s) and says storage is full, seems same case with the first one
-can't open samsung/stock gallery app, which also says the same thing
-can't make new folder in samsung/stock file explorer, and says "folder creation failed."
-can't make any new file/ edit files (rename, delete, move only works as copy, and edit file in app like microsoft word)
-mostly the problem is in usb storage.
I wanted to screenshot the problems but I can't. It seems like my usb storage is locked by itself or whatever I don't know because I'm not that good at technology.
Okay, I searched google and gets similiar like mine (problem) but I don't find it solves. And note that I rooted my phone about 6 months. Thank you! Please reply asap because I use my phone for business.
