Is there a way I can turn the screen on or power on my phone and it shows my widgets first extended down sort of like the image below? then I can hit the little lock icon that be at the bottom to go to my pin lock screen and enter my password? Is there an App out that can do that or a hack or ROM out that does it already?

Plenty of roms have that option...

I know SlimKat does, but there's probably an Xposed module that can do it also.

Done some work on the apk and it needs input from the settings apk. But not as simple as that the way the app is set up it requires the core from the 8x for the linguistics. So its a no go for any other phone with out serious work and serious battery drain.

Yep. You need either the X8 (or theoretically the S800) for it to work. Even if it could be modded to work on a standard cpu, it's going to kill your battery life.
Use open mic+ ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=mic++play )

Not for 100% of the time. They made immersive apps but that's it. Please read before posting ignorant comments.

On the N4 it was possible with:
Go to system/build.prop/ and add the following line at the end of the build.prop file: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Reboot.
To re-enable set 0 to 1 and reboot
Don`t know if this will also work on the N5, need root off course.

How are you supposed to control your phone without the capacitive buttons..that nexus lacks...how easy it is in case of pie controls to swipe to get menu???

Haven't tested it on the Nexus 5 yet, but with my old GNEX I used the Xposed framework with the GravityBox module which offers this functionality (hide nav bar and use pie controls).

Yes, it does. I did this on both of my N5s and used PieControl.
PieControl works OK but I prefer the GMD app on my N4 though. Waiting for the dev to enable it on the N5.

You need root to write to build.prop since you need to mount /system as R/W.

It does work if you root your phone - I followed this and am happy now:

Root access -enables- you to mount /system as R/W. It does not mean every file explorer app does so 'on the fly'. First make sure /system is mounted as R/W, then edit build.prop.

You don't necessarily have to have a custom ROM. You just need root. I'm stock rooted and I installed gravitybox which is an xposed module. Gives you lots of options and tweaks.

Gravitybox has the option to add shortcuts to the unlock ring. It allows 5 different shortcuts. You just need root, download xposed, then check gravitybox, thats it.

the newest stock ROM is android 4.1.2,and the ble feature only support by android 4.3+,so the stock ROM can't use this feature

It barely turns on but doesn't turn on. I'm guessing it is a soft brick, she will be sending her phone into Verizon to get a replacement in a few days, but she wants to see if I could get her files off of it into her PC. When I go to her house and look at and it definitely is a soft brick. What could I possibly do to try and get them without wiping her phone?

So, from what she says (hopefully will be getting the device later tonight to look at it) it goes to the "reboot screen" which is the droid screen I'm guessing and just sits there or something. She didn't really tell me much, but that's all I could get out of her at the time. Will hopefully have the device to see what it is really doing later.

No it was not rooted. And it charges when it wants to. I have tried 6 different chargers and the same thing. (Can't be hardware it is almost brand new) stays at the first logo when powered on, if it decides to charge, and I can boot into recovery by holding power and volume down if it decides to charge.

OK without sounding harsh you have a fair amount of reading to do. My recommendation is use the previous link I provided and use method 2 manual flash.
It depends on what amount of reading you want to do.....at the very least you can warranty the phone.
