Last time I used Android was when I owned the HTC Desire and it was fresh. Then I went for the iPhone 4, Lumia 920 and now the Nexus 5. I'm amazed how smooth and responsive Android has become, everything is so fluid and the screen response time (screen ms?) is almost on par with the iPhones now.
Really happy I came back to Android finally, I couldnt be happier!

I like both I have an iphone 5c and nexus 5 both are great I'm just used to quick updates and a fast response by Apple when a bug arrives such as on 4.4.2 there's many bugs with the noise cancelation mic. And the lux meter sensor reads off scale being that is my third RMA 2 from google and 1 from LG it seems it's software and I'm going to have to wait till android 4.5 till who knows when?

I may not have been a user from the beginning like you, but I've been on Android since 2.3 Gingerbread. At the time, I was using webOS (which is a sad story). But they discontinued and I came to Android. I really didnt care for Gingerbread but when Ice Cream Sandwich came out, I started getting interested. The same person responsible for webOS was responsible for ICS so that helped. Since then, Android has grown into a beautiful and smooth OS. I dont get why people like iOS so much. Give it a year or two and Android will be dominating the mobile market.

According to rumors, the next nexus will not only not have an amoled screen but will be made by LG. Am I the only one disappointed?

Well dont you get it ?
HTC is far more expensive than Samsung which is far more expensive than LG.
Nothing feels like my old HD2 that was the most great cellphone ever. I might sell my nexus to go get an HD2 and stay with it until it rots.
Why do u really care abt something which doesnt even exist...?
Relax and have fun with ur nexus s and the samoled, while google and next manufacture comes out with another masterpiece in some unforseeable future.
Remember this, that gogle never said they are going to come out with any of pure google experience handset suntil they launched N1.
N1 saw some nice responce but wasnt doing so well but the noise in consumer market was asking google to come up with next iteration, they did and they saw a massive success, continued the legacy by extending the nexus family with NS.
Lets see what do they do for us in future...
Just my 2 cents!

This is indeed correct the likely choice of the next nexus mobile device line will be motorola due to the CEO of motorola showing up at the Nexus s launch and talking with google ceo etc. they have made a contract to be the next maker im pretty sure you could find the info online

I actually know both the ceos of LG and Motorola and they said that Casio was producing the N3...

The Galaxy Nexus has come and gone but it didn't intrigue me enough to upgrade to. While the NS is still a great phone, the hardware is slowly becoming dated and it's inevitable that most of us will get a new phone eventually.
For those of you who still have an NS like me, are you eyeing any particular phones that you might switch over to in the near future?

Not really. They've timed it in the past, but it doesn't expressely mean a new version I believe.
Even then, Nexus One released with 2.1 Eclair, while Nexus S released with 2.3 Gingerbread. Not exactly a leap forward as big as Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.
The first Google device was still the G1, released in October 2008 with Android 1.6. Old school haha!

its more than just porting. you need the framework for sense to work on the n5, and a kernel to support it. right now you have neither. its not a little work, its so much work that nobody in their right mind would spend the time on it, and for free!

go ahead. make sure that you get the framework working on a nexus 5 first, then develop a kernel to support sense. really, it would be cool if you do. i wouldnt use it, but some would. the issue is that it would take a mass amount of time and effort to do so, and not many are willing to be so dedicated to it.
I came from having had 3 HTC phones in the past. Evo 4g, evo 3d, and evo 4g LTE. All good phones. Sense wasn't terrible.
I can say though the only thing I miss was linked contacts. That rocked. Otherwise I'm totally happy with stock android and getting updates when they come out, not a year later or never.
