Hello all, I've recently bought a analogix slimport adapter for my nexus 5 and nexus 7
My nexus 7, works fine with it, but my nexus 5 does not work at all. any ideas?
Both are stock rooted. I had fauxkernel on the 5 but I returned to stock for testing, but other people said works fine with other kernels including faux... Bad adapter? Bad HDMI? Bad phone? Works with my nexus 7, so why not the 5?. Weird

Yep. That's the one! Analogix sp1003
UPDATE: ordered a off brand adapter and it works with my nexus 5 after awhile.... I ordered a HDMI 1.4a cable to use with the adapter to see if its the adapter or what, but not sure what's up cuz the 7 works fine with it. I also ordered a HDMI to micro USB cable (no adapter)... Will report on those as well

UPDATE!!
ALRIGHTY THEN!
I received all the products today!
REPORT:
Connected the HDMI 1.4a to the nexus 5 to see if that would work.... NO GO Analogix sp1003 + nexus 5+ HDMI 1.4a = NO GO on my nexus 5.... BUT, it WORKS with the nexus 7 (2013).... but my nexus 7 worked with the old cables anyway so i expected it to work.... Analogix adapter? RETURN to amazon!!
so, offbrand LinkS 6ft Slimport to HDMI cable that i got (link above, no adapter, just cable)...... WORKS with BOTH my nexus 5 and 7! yay!
why the hell does the official analogix ( i don't know if its official but....) not work with the nexus 5? I don't know, and i really don't care now because I have a cheaper set up with no need to carry around an extra HDMI cable...
By the way, I think i may have gotten a bad adapter from analogix, but I mean, it works flawlessly with my nexus 7 but not at all with the 5 so not sure on that, many of you reported that the analogix is the perfect one for the 5, but it was a no go for me, so YMMV! ( your mileage may vary)
any questions?

I have not seen ir mentioned, but just thought I'd mention the Bizlink at MobileFun works with the Sensation. They've had stock and more arriving Monday.
As far as I can see the official one is still not out.
I don't know about European availabilty. I bought one from Tmobile here in the states for $25. plus. Still have not tried it, but they were in stock and it actually arrived very quickly.
All the adapters, regardless of manufacturer should work, thats part of the whole point of MHL - its a standard connection type. My prototype MHL adapter, and my Samsung MHL adapter both also work with the Sensation.
I got my MHL adapter today from Tmobile.
Doesn't seem to work. Tried connecting power adapter to the MHL adapter as well. HDMI input does not even recognize. Tried on TV and Pico projector.
Will return for an exchange. Hopefully a bad piece.

This is what interests me, otherwise I don't really have much use for one. Which HDMI cable is needed for these gadgets, is it one with the standard full size ends or mini connectors?
Mine has a standard full size HDMI connector on it.

And I tried it with 3.6.7 last night and it didn't work at all. Bulletproof 1.4 works but he connection is spotty. I would really like to figure out how to turn it on manually.

I don't care about music since it has an auxiliary input but I just hate the message. Can I get rid of it? Also the Camaro tries to read it so it's just an awkward silence when the radio goes out can I do anything so my s3 won't be detected but charged.?

Buy a car charger. The computer in your car is incompatible. Much like radios having iPod support. But yours doesn't have android support. You can eliminate the wires which are not needed for charging, but that's risky in its self.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
You have two options. The first is to just get a car charger. The other is to enable UMS mode. Doing that would allow your camaro to read the phone as a regular USB thumb drive. I'm not sure if it would work for the internal SD card alone though, but it would definitely solve your problem if you had an external card in there (you could even put music on the card and play that through your car).

Since cables have molded plugs, you cannot mod them easily. There are two USB cables available that come wired to prevent the phone from getting a data signal on the cable. This would keep both the radio and the phone from sensing each other. There is a problem however. Charging from a USB port most new phones limit their current draw because USB can only supply 500 milliamps (1/2 Amp). When an AC charger is used the phone draws more current and charges significantly faster. Fooling the radio's connection to the phone could result in damage to the USB port.
The use for these cables is to fool the phone when plugged into 12 volt car chargers that have USB connections. Most of these chargers are detected as a USB connection by the phone, and the phone refuses to draw more current. You can see whether the phone thinks it is charging from USB or AC in the settings menu or with many battery widgets.
Amazon has two modded cables one a "Naztech" and the other from PureGear.

amperage too low?
I'm hardly an engineer, but the specs say the DT-900 is only 300ma. Maybe that's causing the problem with the N4.
I tired both the Nokia puck and the JBL speakers in a Verizon store. Both had the infamous charging/not charging problem.
It's a no-go for either I'm afraid. I can assume the same for the Fatboy pillow too...

The charger works perfectly fine, you just have to make sure that the nexus 4 isn't sliding off because of the glass back. That'd what was causing it to connect/disconnect for me. Works great after I just put a piece of microfiber cloth on it before laying the phone down.

I've seen it mentioned that the reliability of the charging depends on whether NFC is turned on or off. Think it was mentioned by someone on Engadget. Not sure how that would affect the Qi charging, but worth a shot I suppose.

Guys, it very may work for Droidz, if you read The Verge's report you will notice that the charging issue seems to not affect ALL Nexus 4's, read below is an excerpt from The Verge's article
""The Nexus 4 and the Nokia DT-900 are supposed to properly work together," says Menno Treffers, chairman of the Wireless Power Consortium. Indeed, not everyone is having trouble pairing the Nexus 4 to the DT-900: Engadget reported success, for instance. But a single bad experience instills doubt in a standard that needs as much traction as it can get early on in the game."
Hi guys,
I have received my XZP (EU version) yesterday, love it so far but I would like to ask few things, pls:
1.) At Sony's page there is a mention that it supports Galileo. But I wasn't able to get any Galileo satelite :/ Does anybody know if it is going to be enabled in some update?
2.) Is there a way to enable something like "HD Voice"? When ppl who got P10, iP7 etc call me, I can hear them like they would standing 1 meter next to me. When I make a call from XZP, nobody noticed anything
3.) Is there a difference between UCH12 & UCH12W charger? I had a UCH20 (so no Quick Charge) one at box and I was wondering which one I should get. Also, could somebody tell a difference in "charging time", pls?

Puff, 2 hours with 50e charger?
I'm not sure I understand why the cable would make a difference. As I understand it, USB C uses a specific pin in the cable for devices and chargers to communicate charging needs.
I guess this could make a difference if the cable isn't actually wired using the USB C standard and rather uses the USB 2 or maybe 3 standard, but you would think that the included cable would be designed appropriately to maximize USB C standards.

It looks like that is just another variation of the UCH12W charger, but it's hard to say. Sony's accessories are just plain confusing and difficult to find, and it's really annoying. I ordered the UCH12W from eBay and am just waiting for it to get here because I couldn't find it anywhere else.
