Well, overall, I think the build quality of the Touch Pro is wonderfull! I love that its slightly heavy too!
But the keyboard slideoutmechanism, although very solid and robust gives away a worrying noise, sorta like its scraping against something. Anyone managed to confirm if this is nothing to worry about? I feel like I damage the device each time I pull it out.. lol
Regards
According to me that's the LCD flatcable cover sliding into place. With the device opened you'll find a little latch of sorts at the top of the screen back, that slides shut when opened and opens up to give the LCD flatcable some room to roll itself up in.
Nothing to worry about then!
So, I was lucky enough to get my transformer today. Though I do love it, is anyone else having these problems?
-Light bleed
-Creaking/flex on the right side of the tablet, but not on the left
-Some dead pixels(not very noticeable, but I was able to catch around 3-4)

I have minor light bleeding but no creaking or flex.. How are you checking for dead pixel?
There are a few other threads about the flexing and the light bleed. I haven't experienced any dead pixels, but there is a specific paragraph on it in the warranty i.e how many and how close together in order to qualify for a warranty repair.
My Transformer is flexing at the top rim near the camera. I don't really think its a huge problem though. Just feels weird if you grip there.

Light bleed:yes, but not noticeable most time, and this issue seems to be common.
Creaking:sometimes, especially when holding TF by one hand, acceptable though.
No dead pixels,i've tested that using some pure color pictures.
On the 3rd day,i found a dust under the lens cover of rear camera...

my main concern is that on day one i had no bleed nor creaking. but 6 days later now i have both. what happens a month from now? the paint flakes?
i don't plan on keeping it after kal-el tablets come out, but dammit i'd like for it to last that long.
i just picked up the pre-order from best buy that i was going to cancel b/c i wanted to see if it had less issues. the new one actually has more bleed than my current but no creaking. i'm pretty sure it'll start creaking if i put more handling on it.
Makes me wanna believe they glued the rim on thats why its creaking when the glue fails to stick ;o
light bleed.
No, the pixels and light bleed arnt anything super major, but I dont know if I am ocd, but the the creaking seems to be enough to bother me. The ride side of the tablet is perfectly fine and very sturdy feeling, but I feel like the left is just not the same. Would this be okay to be sent in for warranty or exchanged? Should I just return it and wait?
Man... lots and lots of issues. I know the majority of people without issues, don't report. But the number of new cases keep expanding every day that goes by. I'm still waiting for my TF101, but I'm more and more skeptical.

it has to be. it would be terrible if it's screws getting loose already. I can actually squeeze the front and back together on my left corner. the back is no longer flush with the bezel like the right side is. the right is only giving slight squeaks. hoping it doesn't get worse.
I hate to say this but this is typed out on my iPad. I really hate posting in this forum on my android tablets bc of the lag.

The issues you are describing are serious build quality problems, the unit is defective and should be replaced.

Maybe you go to RC to solve these problem.
Does anyone have an issue where if you squeeze the phone(or push on the screen slightly as if you were playing a game and getting pretty into it) the back cover creaks and the screen pushes into it slightly. It mostly happens on the left side of the device(the side the volume buttons is on) but also in the top right corner. My device was never dropped and I don't remove the back cover often. I have only had the phone for just over a month. Just curious if you guys have the same issue. I contacted HTC just to see if this was the way the phone was made and they basically blew me off and told me if was by design...I don't feel that it is.
This is a new issue. I am sure you are the first person to report this. Thank you.
On closer inspection the screen on the left side actually flexes slightly and the center of the screen makes a clicky noise if pressed slightly(almost like it's flexing and touching the back display?) This was all tested with the back cover off. The back cover certainly added and makes this more noticeable but it's a combination of both.

Was that sarcasm? Sorry if it's been reported before...
Its a known issue..its like this because sensation is NOT unibody construction and because of bad quality control..majority of users are probably not experiencing this but the rest of us...

He isn't speaking about the bottom right corner creaking which is a common issue for 90% (imo) of the sensation users
On topic:
That's is the first time I hear about creaking in the middle/center of the screen while back cover is not on, I would definitely get it back right now for repair or replacement
Although I really like the build quality, in the past few days I've noticed a creak in the right side when I squeeze, as well as the screen not closing flush without an extra push (it's catching on the right lip). Has anyone else had this? I'm thinking about grabbing a star driver and seeing if I can tighten it up... hopefully that fixes it :fingers-crossed:
I noticed the samething. I think its just buy design, gives wiggle room. Just close the lid and look at the hinge from the rear, seems the have more gap on the left side vs the right. And the dpad shifts around in its area. Mine make a creaky sound on the left and right but not up or down. These items need to have some give, given they are used frequently. Its fine.
I should have made this thread long ago but I thought I'd be able to tolerate the problem. At the bottom of my phone between where the screen ends and the metal plate begins there is a small gap that extends the full width of the phone. I'd say about 1/2 to 2/3 mm separation. It's been there since I purchased the phone on October 30th. At the top its completely flush but on the bottom it is wide enough for dirt/dust to become trapped and has become a complete eyesore. Does any one else suffer from this? I hadn't seen anyone mention it.
I have the same issue. Guess I'm gonna have to live with it lol.. Replaced phone twice(not related to this issue) but the gap exists on all devices.

I absolutely love this phone but there are some issues that are clearly starting to stand out that leads me to believe this phone was a rush job.
Just run a very thin strip of clear glue (superglue?) along the seam. Seal it up right.
There is no real good reason not to, actually. Shouldn't affect anything if it's a very small amount.
Or maybe clear silicone would be better since it would be easily removed without residue.
I don't have that gap. However, where the Black-Out section surrounding the Front Facing Cameras meet the 2nd Screen, there's some faint light-bleed ... an obvious gap in materials to the back of the camera.
This reminds me of the Blackberry Tour 9630 with similar gap ... at the end of 9 months the screen looked dirty when it was off. Those old phones were harder to take apart and clean than today's phones, so it's not much of a concern for me as it only takes 10 minutes to do this and when it goes back together it'll be easier to make a permanent fix.
