Am thinking of sourcing a new battery for my standard sensation.
The best price/capaciy i can find would seem to be a genuine htc sensation xe battery, 1730mah for £6.50 (a lot cheaper than an Anker but almost the same capacity).
Would the XE battery fit into the non XE sensation though, without forcing or bulging of the back plate etc?
Actually, looking at it again, the replacement battery is a HTC BG86100 and runs at 3.8v, whereas the default battery runs at 3.7v. Would this extra 0.1v fry the phone?
xe battery

Hi, from my experience there is no problem to use the xe battery in the normal sensation, after all the sensation xe is just a version of the normal sensation just it's cpu is working at normal freq for the SoC.

HTC Sensetion has a Li-Ion 1520 mAh battery, it probaby will work with DHD ? And + 2.3 andorid - it think it would be a great solution.
What do u think, will it worth ?
It was just announced, so looks like we'll have to wait and see. Engadget have a hands on video where they take off the back. From the looks of the battery, I don't think it'll work, I could be wrong though.
it will not work, it has bigger dimensions than the desire hd battery :-( S U htc
The phone has different dimensions, even the screen if I understand the specs correctly, so the battery will be different too.
Anyway, wait for users of this phone to complain about battery drain, with a 20% faster processor, 3D transitions etc

Even if you hook a car battery to the phone there will still be users that will complain about the battery life. It's the human nature. For me one day is enough. You can always charge during the night
can anyone confirm if this battery is legit and does it work for DHD

It says DISCONTINUED at the top right of the page.
Also, search this Accessories subforum for Mugen, there is talk of a 1500mah battery coming out at the end of this month. (actually it's at the top left of Mobile Fun's page).
And DON'T buy a "high-capacity" battery off e-bay!!!
the 1500 mah is alredy getting bad reviews...so i guess we r stuck with the stock 1230 mah..

Did you read the posts in the thread, or just the title?
It seems there is a pre-production run which was sold, and from what I have read in that thread, there IS a noticeable difference.
Wich other solution can we have ? Is the Mugen Power 1300mAh better than the HTC one ?
<sorry for my bad english>

the site below shows another mugen battery, a 1800 mah variant, did anyone get one of those? is it actually better?
i send an email to htc to ask if i cant put the battery of sensation to my hd. they answer me this:
Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center.
With regards to your inquiry,
Please note that the device have their own specifications and HTC is developing the accessories according to this specifications.
The battery of the HTC Sensation has the below specifications:

Meanwhile the battery for Desire HD has this one:

If you change them you might have the problem of malfunction and any issues related to this might classify your device as Out OfWarranty.

Where did you see this? I saw the 1500 mah, only two reviews one said it helped, the other said that they saw no difference between it and a stock battery.
Quick fix? Custom rom and new radio!

To make your extended battery work right you need to calibrate it. Also there's tons of tips on how to use li-ion battery properly. Some users just don't know that and this is why they get bad battery performance.

if you want to talk about the sensation battery i suggest you use current threads and don't dig up old ones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344761
about your question: better ask it in the sensation forum:

Is here someone with xe battery on sensation what are the differences?
It's 1730mah instead of 1520mah
I know that but is there a real difference and how much 10%?
There should be a measurable difference. The XE battery is approx. 14% higher capacity. Also, you have to consider that if your stock battery is old then it won't have the same capacity as it was new, so the %age increase in capacity might be a lot higher. My stock battery is 9 months old now and I just ordered the OEM XE battery for $8 shipped.

I SO feel for you, was wondering if it worked myself - now that it is confirmed, I just checked availability in on of the local stores which declares on its' web site that the stock battery (goes by "BA S780" inventory code, dunno if it is the official HTC designation) can be used for both Sensation and Sensation XE and has 1730 mAh capacity.
It goes for 17 Euros here (kinda expensive) but on the plus side I can have it immediately
Once again cheers for the information, it was invaluable.

The ANKER 1800Mah
Its got a thread of its own, I'v had mine for almost a year - great battery highly recomment it - a bit longer to charge of course, but as you do it less often no issue
Hi,
can anybody give me advise on 2 x 2520mAh HTC SENSATION XE AMAZE 4G EXTENDED Battery + Dock Charger G14 Quality.? Is there any reviews?

I bought an anker battery and at first was a bit disappointed but after a few charge cycles it really is amazing. I've gone from 2 hours screen on time to 3 and a half. Only issue is the phone gets to 13% and switches off completely.
It is either reporting the battery level wrong or there's some other issue. I'm on Viper 1.6.0 rom. I don't believe the whole wiping battery stats thing works or can someone prove me wrong?

Deleting the battery Stars probably wont do anything. This is a quote i found:
This file is used to maintain, across reboots, low-level data about the kinds of operations the device and your apps are doing between battery changes. That is, it is solely used to compute the blame for battery usage shown in the “Battery Use” UI in settings.[...]It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.It has no impact on your battery life.
So no idea why my battery dies at 13% still.

I can at least confirm that this happens with my anker also :/
tapped out from my sexy sensation XE
Doesn't know if it's right, but I think it's battery's problem. I had same problem when my battery was old enough.
Here's proof that wiping the battery stats does nothing important: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
So recently i bought used htc sensation with newest viper rom installed. Everything is perfect apart from the battery. Very long charging (~11 hours) , poor battery life and random shutdowns. I dont know the age of the battery so i guess its just very old and worn out. I need to buy new one and i've hear that sensation xe battery will fit into normal sensation. Is it true ? will the battery door close ?

AFAIK battery in both devices are the same
except the one from sensation xe has bigger capacity
so it will fit
Yeah you can use sensation XE's battery on htc sensation
just like using anker battery (1900) mah on htc sensation xe
the most important things, the battery must fit perfectly on your phone
