This is an age old topic I know, but was browsing the HTC sensation and sgs 2 forums.
When reading I can across an extended battery making called anker, reviews have been very positive for both phones.
Anyway to cut the story short I emailed anker and they do an extended battery for the HTC desire they provided me with link on amazon.
The title says for inspire and desire hd.
Here's the link

My brother is using my desire now, it's already 1,5years old.
So I'm thinking of getting a new battery for it, maybe this is something?
Too bad Anker doesn't have a Desire battery.. I ordered anker for my Sensation, I'm curious if it will perform better than stock.

I agree! Unfortunately it just looks too.... wrong! Granted it might be great for people who can't charge often but I find my phone lasts at a minimum one day with normal usage and possibly 2 if I forget to charge it and don't use it much other than texting and say 30 mins of calls.
You would also need a modified case for it as well and I definitely need one of those as I seem to have a problem with dropping expensive things and my desire has been saved a few times from chips / bumps! by using a rubber case holder!
Is there any external battery for Desire which seemlesly blends with the phone like some iPhone external battery, which looks like a normal silicon cover?

I doubt it very much but in the end it would probably just be easier to get a second battery and pop the cover and swap it out its not that hard but I guess you have to carry it around with you
I would like to warn you for some of these (cheap) batteries. I got one from ebay for one of my previous phones (nokia) and the battery just melted when charging. My phone was ok, but I don't think it was a very safe/healthy situation
cant post the link, but you can search on ebay
2450mAh HIGH Capacity Gold BUSINESS Replacement Battery for HTC DESIRE
no need for an extended back
Do you have experiences with the gold 2450mAh battery?
Does it really lasts longer then stock battery?
You can save your money, I bought this 1600mAh battery but even after 5 cycles and batt stats wipe it's just ****.
It just performs @75% of the stock battery.
Good for spare, but reusing the stock battery now..
http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/1600-MA...3&hash=item2a0f0220f0&clk_rvr_id=295377745471
Yes I get a lot longer out of the extended gold battery, but I'm running the Runnymede 3.0.4 AIO rom and that suffers from heavy battery drain but this battery lasts all day now, I just need a wall charger and a second battery and I'm all good
I only believe in original batteries

I have one of those. Some apps or the OS see it as 780mAh, I didn't do much testing to find the real truth, but the actual battery is smaller in size than the stock one (maybe 1350-1500 max), has a cheaper and stupider controller (no voltage, no temperature) and it will decay faster than an original SANYO battery (it will be worse than your current battery is now in about a year with similar usage).
Ask yourself, what would you want to have in your pocket when your main battery discharges completely:
- 5 euro banknote
- 5 euro replacement battery with at least half charge
You get what you pay for.
Cameron Sino 2400mAh..with a bit of kernel tweaks, it lasts 1.5 days...good enough for my needs.
I guess you all need to check this review. It's a hands-on review with a lot of data on how much time Mugen 3200mAh battery adds etc.
In my opinion only original or Mugen batteries
i think the original battery is the best battery i had an battery from ebay from Polarcell the battery was terrible its not good has anyone a good alternative battery found

yesterday i came accross this website call Mobilefun.com
and i seen the evo3d battery which i know works in sensation.
since i was thinking of getting a original htc battery for my htc sensation.
i thought this might be a great deal because the battery was on for £22 including post.
but the thing that suprised me that i ordered the battery yesterday around 11 in the morning and i recieved the battery at 12.
here is some picture of the box and packaging.
i made this thread so anyone is looking for htc evo3d batteryu for thier senation and dont want to pay £32. then i suggest you order your battery from this website beside the delivery is very quick.
some picture of the box and accessories i recieved today.
and try this rebate code and you will get a free mobile cleaning cloth
PROMOCLOTH.
is that battery better?
did you see any different in working time of Your sensation with evo3d batterie? how many hours its working on this battery?

no just because i got the battery the battery isn't fully optimized but yesterday i fully charged my battery than i took it off from charger and turned the brightness fully up, turn the wifi, gps, bluetooth on and start playing shadowgun and my battery lasted nearly 3 hours
the real time was 2hour 39 min
wheras my orighinal htc optimize battery lasts me
1hour 55min
my normal usage on original battery is 14-15 hours. but after 5-8 full charge and fully killing the battery i will let you know my normal usage.
hm..
On my standard battery (1520 mah) it's working about 9-12 hours. Today I will buy evo3d battery.
Do you think it can work 20 hours after charging on this battery?
But I think this is gut idea to buy this battery, isn't it?

anker battery claims that they have 1900mah of power but nobody know what's the real mah. beside htc 1730mah is guaranteed 1730. because they cannot advertise wrong but since anker is 3rd party you can be guaranteed with them. beside i would rather buy a offical htc battery rather then 3rd because you can guarnteeill work
but that was my point of view but if you think anker is better than legit company batteries than go with it. because its up to you to decide what to choose.
I get evo3d batterie
Today I get my evo3d batterie. It's a little bit bigger, but it's working great on sensation I starting tasting it and after week I write is it worth to buy it
I also buy 32gb sd card for it, so I will have a lot of fun:d
hm, strange but batterie works same as original in sensation... any suggestions why?
I want to buy a new battery for mu Sensation and dont know which one to get..
From what i have heard Anker 1900mAh gives around 1740mAh which is basically the same as evo 3d/sensation xe batteries..
Price doesnt matter.. Just want to know the performance..
Does the evo 3d/sensation xe 1730mAh battery produce 1730mAh of power or is that too a bit exaggerated and actually a little less?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks..
Got an anker but never opened it yet, because I found a HTC EVO 3d battery for $23 which is about same price as anker.
I got the anker if you want to buy it still sealed.
I'll test the EVO when I get it but I assume it will be a good as anker
The HTC batteries are said to be true to their ratings.
If you compare the OEM batteries here they all look to be true to their mAh ratings

Thanks guys.. But i really would like to know from someone who has used both.. coz its a one time investment for me.. =)

Was that really compared to the XE/EVO 3D-battery? He mentions 1520 mAh, which would mean that it's the the stock battery of the regular Sensation (the XE/EVO 3D has a 1730 mAh)?

No. It was compared to the stock battery. He said there was a 34.4% improvement on the stock battery. I think this is a bit far fetched.
Anker Battery 1900/1520 is a 25% battery life increase on stock.
XE/EVO Battery 1730/1520 is a 14% battery life increase on stock.
This person reckons 15-20% improvement

I personally am going to buy the Anker. It is $20 delivered for me, so its not much. If it sucks then I'll get the HTC branded battery.

For anyone that has an interest. I have purchased both and have used both. The Anker battery lasts longer than the stock HTC, but the EVO 3D battery last longer than both of them. The EVO 3D will give me 24 hrs with light use and the Anker will do 18 to 20 hrs with the same kind of usage. My reading found the Anker batteries can sometimes start weakening after several months. The wall charger I received with the Anker was very flimsy and I felt that I did not have a proficient piece of goods for my Sensation.

My colleague have XE with sock 1730mAh and it have just slight huge performance.
I use the Anker and its fine . I run coredroid and have used energy as well both clocked at 1.2ghz and undervolted -75 and since charging yesterday im on 24% with 31hrs 20min switched on . lite use some calls some bluetooth and some net shed loads of txt and 2 mail accounts . not bad in my eyes .

i have tried the anker 1900, mugen evo 3d 1950, and OEM HTC amaze battery. i find that the amaze battery worked out the best.
if i just use my phone moderate-heavy without watching videos and have emails and facebook syncing every hour, sending out lots of SMS, few voice calls, and lots of web browsing i can easily get 19-20 hours of use on my phone until i hit the 10% mark.
what i have done to test these batteries was put them into EXTREMELY HEAVY USE by constantly letting it play videos repeatedly with 4G signal on and screen brightness at MAX until i had 10% battery left so that the low battery indictator would come on.
the battery and cpu didnt really get hot at all during the +4hours of continuous video playing. when i checked the temperature after hitting 10% my phone read it at 54'C
i had my korean show on repeat which is about 1 hour and 3 mins long
KEEP IN MIND THAT THE 4G SIGNAL IS THE BIGGEST BATTERY DRAINER
these are my reports:
Anker 1900mAh lasted 3 hours 10 mins
Mugen Evo3d 1950mAh lasted 3 hours 19 mins
HTC AMAZE 1730mAh lasted 4 hours 12 mins
from all my searching i have done on HTC and aftermarket batteries. I decided to stick with an OEM battery because HTC is just about ACCURATE when it comes to giving the batteries REAL mAh.
Our sensation batteries are interchangeable with the EVO 3D, SENSATION XE, and the AMAZE. All these batteries are 1730mAh with the exception of the EVO 3D and AMAZE being at 3.8v instead of 3.7 like the Sensation's stock battery.
I decided to get the AMAZE battery since it was the newest TMOBILE phone out so i ordered mines last week for $34.99 from tmobiles website.
im VERY happy with the results from the AMAZE battery.!
i use system tuner pro and i run my phone at screen on 1.18GHz/192MHz with ONDEMAND GOVERNOR
screen off at 192MHz
i UNDERVOLTED my phone by 100. to anyone that is curious, this is how I have my voltage settings.
192MHz --------- 812.5mV
310MHz --------- 800mV
384MHz --------- 800mV
432MHz --------- 800mV
486MHz --------- 800mV
540MHz --------- 812.5mV
576MHz --------- 825mV
648MHz --------- 837.5mV
702MHz --------- 862.5mV
768MHz --------- 887.5mV
810MHz --------- 900mV
864MHz --------- 925mV
918MHz --------- 925mV
960MHz --------- 925mV
1.02GHz --------- 937.5mV
1.15GHz --------- 950mV
1.18GHz --------- 962.5mV
i have 192MHz at 812.5mV because that was the default setting on system tuner pro. People have complained about having black screens and such and so they increased voltage from between 825mV-850mV @192MHz and after that they said the problem went away. I have not had that problem so i decided to leave alone the voltage at 192MHz.

I concur, I get roughly 15% more battery life out of the Anker compared to the stock HTC battery. I get good battery life out of my stock battery though!
If you read back earlier on the main Anker thread you'll find that in tests done by members here the Anker 1900's hold on average 1730mAh, which is close to the 15% improvement I saw when I switched from stock to Anker. Anyone seeing 'massive' improvements over stock probably had a dud stock battery.

Guys, is it safe to use High capacity battery for my HTC Sensation??
You'll find a lot of threads in Accessoires-Section. But to shortly answer your question: I have one Anker with 1900mAH and I am really happy. Lasts much longer and it seems that recharging is faster, too. Measured time with stock battery and with anker and anker simply charged the same time (battery was at 1 %).
But: no correct temperature is shown. This you'll find on all replaycement batteries.
I got one too and can vouch for it as well. Its a great battery.

Comments of Mugen Power Batteries from Facebook user Val Komissarov
Hey, Mugen. I just installed your 1600 mAh battery for HTC Desire (properly charged for circa 9 hrs) on my HTC Desire running an Oxygen-based AOSP ROM (Android 2.3.7) and had two phone shutdowns when the battery charge was between 90 and 80 percent. That's something that never happened to me before while I'd been using native HTC battery. The ROM itself is extremely reliable and battery efficient. Any clues on that?
on the other hand, after 2.5 weeks of usage I must express my dissatisfaction with the product: the battery hardly lasts as long as the original HTC battery. I did everything per instruction, my ROM and usage patterns remain unchanged, so it's got to be the Mugen battery.

Could just be a faulty battery. Cant damn an entire product for one bad apple. I work in RMA's and see it all the time. "your product is supposed to last xxx times, it didnt even work once, false advertising!!!" My reply, bad units happen no matter what you buy. My other notice is, that is for the desire, not the desire HD. two different phones and two different batteries. Mugen only sells a 1500mah for desirehd/inspire.

Really? Ok, then I probably almost gonna buy a wrong one.
Thanks either!
There's a thread floating around somewhere which explains why the Mugen and similar high capacity batteries are no better than the standard HTC one.
The HTC branded battery can use ~90% of its capacity whereas other only use ~80%.
I don't recall the exact numbers but it works out that, although the capacity is lower, more of it is usable.
Or they are the exact same and Mugen is just rebranding it.
So u r saying it does not worth buying? Either does not have any chang, or it is so minor that it is pointless?

Buy it if it's cheaper than genuine HTC batteries, but don't pay more than genuine HTC battery prices, because they are all the same capacity.
Yeah I saw on their website, only 1500 mamph Desire HD batts
To be honest, I have tried some batteries and have ended up coming back to original HTC batttery because they all have similar response and don´t want the battery to melt inside my phone and fck both, the battery and phone.

I did not have a good mugen experience either, it did not had shutdown but the battery charge never last as long as advertized... And I did try every single mod or tweak in the forum, for me it was just like a regular htc battery.
So there is no point in a battery upgrade on Desire HD?
I got one of those 2450 mah (supposedly) batteries and much to my complete lack of surprise it was only 1230 mah.
It was only $8 so I thought I'd give it a try. But at least I have a spare battery that's a little better than the 1 3/4 year-old HTC battery I was using before.
Is there any differences with cost between original battery and mugen? Mugen seems a little expensive for me and plus, cargo price. Or Is it really worth to buy Mugen?
I've been using my phone for over 2 years now and battery lasts 12 hours aprox. ..so i'm considering either a new battery or that powerskin thingy..what do you guys suggest?
