[Q] the right rom for my device? - HTC One SV

Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone can give me some advice!
I desperately need 4.3 jelly bean on my htc one sv, as I need to use the low energy bluetooth.
Currently with the help of the forum ive managed to unlock my phone through the dev centre, ive flashed the recovery with twrp and installed superSu. But I have not seen any posts regarding 4.3 jelly bean in the htc one sv threads.
My question is would the 4.3 jb for the htc one work on the htc one sv - if yes what should i look for to know the right file
Or is there any other way for me to get the low energy bluetooth runnin on my phone
heres my phone deets
k2-ul pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-2.21 000
os-3.11.61.10
jb 4.2.2
Much thanks in advance if anyone can give me any assistance

@devinell
There is currently no 4.3 Rom available for the HTC One SV. As for using the one from HTC One, no, not directly as their specs are much different from ours. You would need to port it, as well as work on the kernel.
However, as it stands right now, 4.4 with Sense 5.5 is due for arrival sometime between March and April.

Cheers for that when I rang t-Mobile they said the next update would'nt be until the end of june, Thats no good for me as im doing a project at uni and need it sorted before then - all I need is to get bluetooth le working - is there no way modding 4.2 to get it on that or any other solutions
cheers

Assuming one has the experience and expertise or even the will to learn, porting is possible. But its all trial and errors along the way as you go about debugging any possible issues so that whatever is actually being ported gets resolved and works properly. Requires knowledge, patience, and free time.

When ive finished Uni its something I will indeed get into as time is a factor, but for now I think my only escape plan is to put kit kat on my old htc desire and use that for development instead -
Thanks for all you advice amigo

[Q] HTC Merge Rooting and Rom development

Mod Edit: Moved thread to XDA General ~TheRomMistress
Hey guys, just got an HTC Merge. It is the best looking htc phone ever. But i was surprised to find it hasnt been released yet. so now im stuck with the problem of how to root it. and since it is apparently very close to the g2 etc, and is supposed to be in the HTC Vision family of phones seems i have to first convert it to something like the G2 and then i'll be able to start flashing roms on it. I am experienced with adb and flashing etc, and I'm willing to help devs interested in learning about the merge. Any help would be appreciated.
wrong thread man
nope, this is the only thread on the whole of xda-developers that actually mentions it. it is apparently very close to the g2 etc, and is supposed to be in the HTC Vision family of phones.
im sure you can get temp root with rage or visionary since its almost in the same family of phone
visionary
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=808514
rage(this shows temp and perm root, but idk what perm root will do to merge so stick with temp)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834228
Thanks for the suggestion although after alot of reading(and after posting the thread) i did go ahead with visionary and got temp root. However I was wondering if there was a way to get permrooted safely and then get radio s-off+recovery etc to flash roms and what not.
honestly i would assume that the merge is closer to the evo 4g shift over the g2/desire z. evo 4g shift and merge are both cdma and they're both sporting the same MSM7630 800mhz (i think?). G2/desire z is using MSM7230 800mhz, which is almost the same processor, cept gsm version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932153
Thanks for pointing me to that. I just went through it and you are right, the processor for the evo shift is the same as mine. But what i see as a potential problem is the wimax part fo the recovery etc. I'll just ask the devs etc over there I guess but it does look promising. I'd love to have the first ever merge with custom recovery in the world
Merge forum
Will there be a dedicated forum for the Merge? I'll have one next week.
Its not the HTC Vision family of phones. Its the HTC Desire Family of phones.

Well, I may be a year late, but are there any updates on how to root an HTC Merge yet? I got my Merge in late December and I decided I want to root it, but I can't figure out how. Please reply, thank you.

[Q] Go Back To ICS 3.Whatever

Hi all,
First time post so sorry in advance if I screw something up. Here is my situation. I have a T-moble US HTC Sensation 4g all stock and I upgraded to their Android 4. After that I found out the hard way T-mobile wants to charge for tethering / Hotspot and the Android 4 update now allows them to shut it down ... unless of course you pay an extra $15 a month.
So my journey to go back to the old Android begins. I first tried several RUU because I thought this would be the easiest way to go but I had no luck. I tried:
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223976_signed.exe = No Luck
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed.exe = No Luck
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.27.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_192098_signed.exe = No Luck
RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_TMOUS_3.32.531.14_Radio_11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2_release_256085_signed.exe = No Luck
So I then I looked into a custom Rom hoping someone has worked this out already. I got the phone rooted and flashed:
Blitz ICS Sense 3.6 v.3.6.0 (Stock Look) because I thought I read something in the forms that said this would fix the tether issue. It didn't seen to. I am now lost and I am looking for some advice.
All I want is my tethering back. I don't care if I go back to the stock Android version before T-mobiles crappy block software or a custom Rom.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes I think this is what i am looking for. Thank you for your help. If I may I would like to ask a couple of follow up questions. Would you know why none of the RUU's worked? They all said:
ERROR [155] UNKNOWN ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
Also do you have any recommendations of which ROM to use? Thanks again.

Ah yes sorry. I have:
Pyramid PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.1111

OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0131

cid: T-MOB010
By the way:
I followed the links you provided and read more about the ANP fix by Grogg and found that he also has a custom Rom.
So I figured why not just use his ROM with the fix built in. I flashed: [ROM]&[KERNEL] Beats by GROGG [ICS 4.0.3] [SENSE 3.6]
and everything works like a charm. T-Mobile should be ashamed for exploiting their customers, but you guys saved the day.
Thanks again!!!!!!

[Q] Bricked HTC One X Plus HELP!!!

OK first off apologies for being such a noob idiot. I've converted from years of iPhones and thought it would be easy to root a HTC One X Plus. I've owned one for around 24hrs now and it's spent most of it's time being broken.
I've have searched high & low for an answer and checked all other posts for fix's but I still can't get this working. I am a complete newbie to Android so please spell things out.
I've basically got it in a state now where it boots but no wifi or carrier - bluetooth seems ok. wifi just says error when trying to enable.
I used Hassons tool for the phone, but unfortunately when it got to kernel options in the tutorial I got a bit lost. I flashed the kernel and since then I have no wifi etc. so I'm guessing I've used the wrong one.
I don't know which to use and to make things worse now I can't seem to find the correct RUU so I can revert back to factory settings.
Model HTC One X Plus - O2 UK
Can somebody please help? Thanks.
Well, congratulations, you have NOT bricked your phone. From what i can understand, you just flashed a kernel not supported on your phone. You can download any ROM for your phone and flash it. It will hopefully solve your issue

Well that's a relief, thanks. I think this must be the route of the problem obviously as I could only find 2 kernels that I thought were compatible.
Anybody know if there is a list of compatible kernels for a HTC One X Plus O2 UK???
Thanks again.

HTC One S updates

So recently i bought an HTC One S with an S3 processor which its country is of Asia. I am currently at europe. I still am on Android 4.0.3 and there doesnt seem to be an update for my phone. Now i know that 4.0.4 and also JB are rolling out, but not for my device. Is there anything I can do to solve this ?
Thanks
I live in a country where HTC sell the S3 processor only. I had my cousin sent me HOS from US, big difference.
You might want to trade for an S4 though.
In the meantime you can search the development forum and look for an S3 ROM.
Not many but there are some.

HOS stands for Htc One S and a Rom is basically an operating system for your device that is nothing like stock, has tweaks here and there things that stock doesnt, and if you root you will.still be able to receive updates but you have to relock the phone and some other things I can't remember then you can apply the update, basically you can't apply update to a rooted phone its just gonna give you and installation error then reboot your phone I think but that's basically it for your questions, hopefully it was helpful to you
T-Mobile HTC one s
Htc one S
Thanks for the information !
A friend told me that if i root the phone i can change my firmware from Asia to Europe where i live so that i can recieve updates accordingly to my phone. Is this true ?
Also is there a detailed noob instructions for me to follow and learn more about rooting the phone and installing customs ROMS etc. ?
Thanks

If you root, you can manually install all sorts of fun stuff. I think if you want to remain as close to stock and receive "official" updates, super cid is something you might wanna read about. There's a thread in the Dev Section by Torxx that I used to root my S4 you might wanna look over and see if that's for you. Make sure everything you decide to do is compatible with your S3 first though.
Edit: there's also another guide in the general section

Still am on everything stock on 4.0.3 and looking to change my Firmware from Asia to Europe. Further assistence would be AWESOME

(Diskussion) Android 5.0 Lollipop on HTC One SV K2U K2UL ?

A few weaks ago I read a news about outrolling Android Lollipop. In this article there also was the information that it maybe as well would run on older devices caused of lower hardware-requirements of Android 5.0. Htc hasn't given much information yet. So what do you think, will our ONE SV get Lollipop (official or dev-version/ported)?
I don't think HTC will bring us the official version but isn't anybody able to port it? Would be a great project.

mmm i think we will never see other improvements in software... upgrading to kitkat was also possible but HTC didn't released and i believe it's a number matter: those who bought HTC one sv aren't too many...

and of the not too many.. none were developers that stayed with it.. personally.. im thinking new phone in 2015 and passing my one sv down to my 6 year old
probably this post will be deleted but i found a way to flash lollipop in our phone...

does anyone know anything about it?
EDIT i saw what kind of links they are. just asking if it could be possible
are you serious? the screenshot on that site are from skydragon rom on htc one m8 and they are edited + links & video are fake.
probably it's better to close this thread as we all know that there will NOT be any further update for this device.
it's a waste of time doing these searches on web.
