Really eager to upgrade my device to latest Android OS.
However, I tried to install 4.0.x ROM to my device, and encountered a lot of problems. So I have to rollback to 2.3.5.
I'm wandering whether the OTA is available now. Thanks.
I think that you will find HTC have already announced that the DHD is not going to get official ICS after all, but if you actually posted this in the DHD forum, or even better used the 'Search' function, then you might get a definite reply.
Yeah, I can confirm that the Desire HD was on the official update list but was recently removed so there will be no official OTA update for you
We'd be curious as to why the list was taken off the market when there is the Desire HD.

if there any reason that DHD was removed? Thanks.
Apparently the file structure for ICS is not compatible with the way the HD's internal memory is built.
Can't find the link right now, but if you search on the 'Desire S' General forum you'll see a thread about ICS on the DS which has the link.
Here it is, found it for you

May wanna post about that in the One X forums.
We can't help you much here in the Verizon HTC One forums.
As santod said, you'll have better luck in the forum for your device, the One X. This is the forum for the One.
That said, you can try clearing data for the software updater, and checking again.
Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone can give me some advice!
I desperately need 4.3 jelly bean on my htc one sv, as I need to use the low energy bluetooth.
Currently with the help of the forum ive managed to unlock my phone through the dev centre, ive flashed the recovery with twrp and installed superSu. But I have not seen any posts regarding 4.3 jelly bean in the htc one sv threads.
My question is would the 4.3 jb for the htc one work on the htc one sv - if yes what should i look for to know the right file
Or is there any other way for me to get the low energy bluetooth runnin on my phone
heres my phone deets
k2-ul pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-2.21 000
os-3.11.61.10
jb 4.2.2
Much thanks in advance if anyone can give me any assistance
@devinell
There is currently no 4.3 Rom available for the HTC One SV. As for using the one from HTC One, no, not directly as their specs are much different from ours. You would need to port it, as well as work on the kernel.
However, as it stands right now, 4.4 with Sense 5.5 is due for arrival sometime between March and April.

Assuming one has the experience and expertise or even the will to learn, porting is possible. But its all trial and errors along the way as you go about debugging any possible issues so that whatever is actually being ported gets resolved and works properly. Requires knowledge, patience, and free time.

When ive finished Uni its something I will indeed get into as time is a factor, but for now I think my only escape plan is to put kit kat on my old htc desire and use that for development instead -
Thanks for all you advice amigo
Will we have to wait for HTC to release the GPE roms for Marshmallow before we will be able to get 6.0 ROMS for the M8? I've been looking in the dev forum all week but haven't seen any talk about developing for 6 yet.

Will have to wait. For Google for gpe however, not HTC.
HTC a9 has 6.0 so its possible to see a port to m9, but to m8 is far less likely.
This thread is for discussion on Android 6.0 Marshmallow availability for E8.
Devices under HTC Advantage program will get the update within 2 or 3 month later.
M8 and e8 ROMs are closely the same it will soon ported and waiting for that hope to be a better camera

After seeing on HTC's site[1] that there's currently no plans to bring Marshmallow to the Sprint E8, I started thinking about porting the M8 release myself. Is that what you're hinting at?
Based on the fact that the E8 is essentially just the M8 with a different camera setup, I still expect HTC to bring Marshmallow to the E8. The porting process shouldn't be that much extra work for them. Especially for the non-Sprint variants as they wouldn't have to go through the additional process of carrier certification and thus be even less work.
I forget how long the delay was between Sprint's M8 getting Lollipop and then the E8 getting it (a few months?), but the M8 Marshmallow update is out now so I'm thinking it might just require a little patience.

I already have Android MarshMallow ( 6.0.x ) kernel ported and compiled for the Sprint E8 and I'm waiting on mine to come in the mail as I ordered one this past week.... I promise I'll have GPE and Sense MM roms up before HTC even decides to update the e8 , just be patient as I didn't order one for no reason... Plus I rather risk my device before anyone else because I know how to properly port between msm8974 chipset... if you'd like you could be one of my tester... I can guarantee they will be flawless ports too.
Now the Dual SIM e8 I can port kernel for too , just would need a dual sim unit to make sure both sim slots work on each port... but dual sim variants I can't guarantee anything but I could help... and I believe dual sim variants are msm8975 chipset.

Damn! You don't mess around, do you? Yeah, I'd be happy to test.
In the meantime, do you have a web presence for your work (github or the like)? I'd love to have a look.

Count me in as a tester? Maybe you could do a cyanogen mod to? That would be way more worth it to me, unless this Rom would be bloat ware free, in which case......I'd squee xD
I would Gladly become a tester for the ROM on the E8. PM me with the details!

I am running the sprint variation of the HTC one E8 and I would be glad to be a tester whether it is for the Asian model or American as I can tweak enough to properly utilize it in my region.
