It has been a year since m8 had custom roms and there has been no ports as of yet from m8. I don't think you can expect..

I think You are wrong. read thie http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/general/blackvictor-ported-roms-htc-one-e8-t3276878

Actually I read it already and I tried those roms. But none worked for m8sd Indian version. None showed any signal at all..

After seeing on HTC's site[1] that there's currently no plans to bring Marshmallow to the Sprint E8, I started thinking about porting the M8 release myself. Is that what you're hinting at?
Based on the fact that the E8 is essentially just the M8 with a different camera setup, I still expect HTC to bring Marshmallow to the E8. The porting process shouldn't be that much extra work for them. Especially for the non-Sprint variants as they wouldn't have to go through the additional process of carrier certification and thus be even less work.
I forget how long the delay was between Sprint's M8 getting Lollipop and then the E8 getting it (a few months?), but the M8 Marshmallow update is out now so I'm thinking it might just require a little patience.

I already have Android MarshMallow ( 6.0.x ) kernel ported and compiled for the Sprint E8 and I'm waiting on mine to come in the mail as I ordered one this past week.... I promise I'll have GPE and Sense MM roms up before HTC even decides to update the e8 , just be patient as I didn't order one for no reason... Plus I rather risk my device before anyone else because I know how to properly port between msm8974 chipset... if you'd like you could be one of my tester... I can guarantee they will be flawless ports too.
Now the Dual SIM e8 I can port kernel for too , just would need a dual sim unit to make sure both sim slots work on each port... but dual sim variants I can't guarantee anything but I could help... and I believe dual sim variants are msm8975 chipset.

Damn! You don't mess around, do you? Yeah, I'd be happy to test.
In the meantime, do you have a web presence for your work (github or the like)? I'd love to have a look.

Count me in as a tester? Maybe you could do a cyanogen mod to? That would be way more worth it to me, unless this Rom would be bloat ware free, in which case......I'd squee xD

I would Gladly become a tester for the ROM on the E8. PM me with the details!

I am running the sprint variation of the HTC one E8 and I would be glad to be a tester whether it is for the Asian model or American as I can tweak enough to properly utilize it in my region.

Please edit the first message, and specify not to install the sensation.
this is because some may make no mistake and brick your phone
thanks
Thanks for posting but you do realise ROM chefs in sensation:
1. Cant use OTA for another device
2. Our sense 4 ROM's are based from HTC Ville C2 (Desire C) builds not the Ville (One S) so while its good news for one s owners that htc have released android 4.0.4, it doesnt help us :/

1. You can use it, if you are a good dev
2. They are currenty based on C2 yes but it's surely not the Desire C. Ville C2 is the One S as well, only with another processor (S3 Qualcomm). It actually should help you a lot..

thats because at the time the ville base was all that was available, now the there is the c2 base which is the best fit at the moment because the chipset it is based on and screen res matches the sensation, coming from the ville base to the ville c2 base fixed a whole load of issues with sense 4 roms, seems a backward step to go back to a base which doesnt work aswell as the base being used currently for sense 4 roms for our sensations. buh ah well something is better than nothing, il let teh devs deal with this

Yeah the thing is Desire C has same qualcomm chipset as sensation (and its codename is Ville C2) which is why devs use the Desire C (Ville C2) builds.
What I'm trying to say is, One S in either variant does not have the same chipset as sensation therefore Ville C2 is a different phone - The Desire C.
Of course I could easily be wrong but the above has always been my understanding of it...

Ville C2 is not Desire C because Desire C has 320 x 480 resolution and all Ville C2 sense 4 builds for sensation didn't require resizing as it's already 540 x 960...like someone else stated it's probably One S but with snapdragon s3...

Ok lol im wrong but that doesnt explain why C2 has same chipset as sensation when neither One S (AFAIK) has same MSM chipset as sensation?

http://android.techhours.com/htc-ville-c-leaks-which-suggests-slightly-modified-htc-one-s/
It has an msm8260 snapdragon s3.
We have no use of this OTA..it can be only applied to stock ONE S rom anyways, and we have no use from any files from it..
If you find an VILE C 4.0.4 than we are in business
One S - http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_s-4574.php
One S C2 - http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_s_c2-4836.php
Please look into your research more carefully, sensation and one s c2 are on s3 chipset, and one s is krait architecture which is s4

i already know this difference, but for the dev i think this update help to update the rom
hmm dont really how much this is going to help considering nobody uses one s bases, plus its OTA
I see that nobody knows about developement here, every dev uses the One S RUUs as a base, even if it's the one from the S3 model.

? All new ports are based on VILE C and has nothing to do with ONE S.
One S ports where first ones before VILE C came, and they didint had working Bluetooth because of it.
im sorry but this is a sensation section and since you dont develop for sensation i dont think you have the right to say "I see that nobody knows about developement here" and every dev here uses the one s c2 (ville c2) base for their roms and their is a reason for that cos the one s c2(ville c2) works better than the one s(ville) base as it has better compatability due to the hardware similarities.
sorry wrong post

[Q] X920e Butterfly?

So I live in Singapore, and was thinking of getting the HTC Butterfly when it comes out here in February but I'm not that patient, so I was thinking about going to China and getting the HTC X920e Butterfly since it's essentially the same. But if I do, I still want to be able to root and flash roms and stuff, and I was wondering if the methods to unlock and root for the Droid DNA will work on the X920e or the international Butterfly? Because the butterfly is released in China and Japan and there's still no forums but this one up. Sorry if this is a n00by question, but I want to know before I make the purchase in China
I think you probably could flash the same stuff on it. It looks identical to the DNA. Make sure the radio is the same.

Ok thanks, was just wondering since previous carrier-exclusive phones usually have a separate thread to the international phone, and the Butterfly/DNA only has one
ok, the international version of Butterfly is X920d, not X920e. The kernal, functions etc will be different.
I'd suggest you go Taiwan to get X920d.

But I hope there will be X920d development tread in XDA, because I got one.

HTC One S Custom ROMs for HTC One S C2

I have the S3 (C2) version of One S, which was pretty much what was sold everywhere in Asia. I am actually envious of One S S4 version owners because there are so many custom ROMs available for them while on C2, we only have an Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 and AOSP Roms, both of which are still very buggy. Trickdroid has been discontinued as well, so basically, we have NOTHING. I am requesting the developers of custom ROMs for the S4 versions to please make them usable for our C2 phones as well, so we would be able to enjoy our C2 version the same way S4 version users enjoy their phones. Thanks
As a fellow C2 owner am also hoping someone to develop custom roms for our device as well so that we cud very well njoy them HTC has cheated Asian users by releasing an outdated model unlike International One S which is more faster than our C2

(Diskussion) Android 5.0 Lollipop on HTC One SV K2U K2UL ?

A few weaks ago I read a news about outrolling Android Lollipop. In this article there also was the information that it maybe as well would run on older devices caused of lower hardware-requirements of Android 5.0. Htc hasn't given much information yet. So what do you think, will our ONE SV get Lollipop (official or dev-version/ported)?
I don't think HTC will bring us the official version but isn't anybody able to port it? Would be a great project.
Greets from Germany
mmm i think we will never see other improvements in software... upgrading to kitkat was also possible but HTC didn't released and i believe it's a number matter: those who bought HTC one sv aren't too many...

does anyone know anything about it?
EDIT i saw what kind of links they are. just asking if it could be possible
are you serious? the screenshot on that site are from skydragon rom on htc one m8 and they are edited + links & video are fake.
probably it's better to close this thread as we all know that there will NOT be any further update for this device.
it's a waste of time doing these searches on web.

6.0 ROMS to be available for VZW HTC One M8?

Will we have to wait for HTC to release the GPE roms for Marshmallow before we will be able to get 6.0 ROMS for the M8? I've been looking in the dev forum all week but haven't seen any talk about developing for 6 yet.

Will have to wait. For Google for gpe however, not HTC.
HTC a9 has 6.0 so its possible to see a port to m9, but to m8 is far less likely.
