Hboot 2.15

Did any one else have to reinstall the windows drivers after the switch to 2.15 for adb/ fastboot to see device?

me either
After updating the firmware, hboot ext. I plugged in to pc, on magio r4 adb devices returned nothing. Booted to bootloader and fastboot wouldn't do anything either so when phone connected while booted it showed as mtp device and mounted the "CD" for HTC sync. I had to download and reinstall to get drivers to work.

Maybe you had old drivers to begin with?
My drivers worked fine before and after.

Hox 4.1.1 on 3.18 ....device not found or waiting on device

I am not new to rooting android phones but for the life of me I can not get any root tool kit to do anything. They either say waiting on device or device not found .I have htc drivers installed. I have tried on 2 different laptops one with windows 7 and the other with vista and no go. Any advice will help.

I can't get the cid to change from cws_001
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hang on. Before you said the CID was just 001, now you're saying it's CWS__001, which is it?
Forget the toolkit and do it manually. You need the 3.18 root method to change your CID, click the resource link in my signature and you'll find a link for it in that thread.

PC Configuration
Hi, it look me half a day to get around this problem, so I thought I would share with everyone. I had an at&t htc one x with firmware 3.18 that I was trying to unlock the bootloader with. I started by trying to get the SuperCID using the method specified in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285086 . I got through all the copying of the files through adb, running the xpwn program, and rebooting into the bootloader. Then I encountered the same problem, which is when I tried to use fastboot oem getcid I got "waiting on device."
This is what I tried. I first tried the procedure on my linux mint 16 usb3.0 on my desktop, then windows 8.1 on usb3.0 on my desktop, and then I was using lubuntu 13.10 on usb2.0 from my netbook, and none of these got past the "waiting on device" stage. Finally, I tried to do the same on my 2006 MacBook Pro with Windows XP and usb2.0, and it worked. So I think it could be a combination of hardware and device drivers. I've heard people say that fastboot doesn't work well with usb3.0

Same to me and here is my solution:
Uninstall the HTC Sync from PC.
Then, download and install HTC Sync Manager.
Work like a charm.
After installing new HTC Sync, still this problem persists, then change the USB cable.
