I have an HTC Sensation and I tried to root it but unfortunalely because I am using a 64bit computer it does not work is anyone on here in Calgary that can help me root this baby and get S-off.
Thanks in advance
By trying to root it, do you mean trying to unlock it/get S-OFF? I just tried using revolutionary.io and it worked perfectly; I'm on Windows Ultimate 64bit.

Yes trying to get S-off, when ever I click on the revolutionary exe the window shows up and disappears right away
Unistall HTC sync or any other app that syncs your phone with your computer, connect your phone in sync mode, a message will POP up saying no.sync application but just ignore it. And that should fix your problem

I have searched everywhere but I can't find an answer, I have my drivers installed and I'm trying to root my phone but I can't get the cid 111111 because its stuck on "getting cid, waiting for device". Can anyone help? I just got my att one x 4 hours ago literally. Thanks.
Edit: I have found the solution, if anybody get stuck like i was, uninstall whatever htc drivers you have and download htc sync, it worked perfectly and im using windows 8. Make sure that htc manager isnt running. Peace!

When it prompts you to accept the backup on your phone are you hitting the backup button?

Try using a different port or reinstalling the drivers.

I'm assuming you have HTC sink manager as well?? If so completely disable, or uninstall HTC sync manager, it will cause problems..
Also make sure usb- debugging is enabled on the phone.

Try a different USB cable. If it isn't the one that came with Phone, some 3rd party cables suck.

Thanks for the reply guys, USB debugging IS enabled and I'm using the OEM USB cable.
I was hoping that HTC sync was the issue, but it isn't installed on my computer. So I'm not sure what's wrong really. I'm using windows 8 but the computer recognise my phone when I ran the command for the cid so the drivers are definitely installed. I've tried uninstalling them and then reinstalling but still, not any luck....
Try hard resetting the phone for the hell of it and try again....
Windows 8 might be the problem
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
i too have windows 8 and I went through the same thing. maybe try installing htc sync it worked for me since you basically need the adb and fastboot driver, not just the phone driver
Try this

Use the Universal Naked Driver, it works best for all my devices, even adb on Windows 8, which wasn't working before.

I knew it you two guys @DanceOff and @Apex-Predator will definitely raise problems with my posts. Old HTC Drivers was not working on windows 8 that i have so i shared the latest drivers with more stability and updated for more support...
I just shared these latest drivers by HTC. Its advantages is you will get updated drivers, more stable, more efficient than old drivers. You may not feel the difference. But these drivers are compatible with some New HTC Devices also like HTC ONE.

Did any one else have to reinstall the windows drivers after the switch to 2.15 for adb/ fastboot to see device?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
I didn't
Sent from my HTC One XL using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
me either
After updating the firmware, hboot ext. I plugged in to pc, on magio r4 adb devices returned nothing. Booted to bootloader and fastboot wouldn't do anything either so when phone connected while booted it showed as mtp device and mounted the "CD" for HTC sync. I had to download and reinstall to get drivers to work.
