[Q] Stuck in Download mode!

I don't know what else to try! I have gone into Odin and tried flashing the stock ROM and different recoveries with no luck. No matter what buttons that I push, it keeps coming back to the bootloader screen! :crying:
Install kies first and then reboot pc for drivers
Use odin version 1.85
Download firmware from www.samfirmware.com for your device model number as 3113 (see your model number)
Close kies when using odin
Put tar or tar.md5 in pda of odin and connect tab with original cable
See if a yellow ribbon appear in odin and a port number
Try hitting start
Wait till green ribbon and pass
Try also power + volume up
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
Have you tried just holding the power button for like 10 seconds to get it to reboot?
This worked for me:
Press and hold: Power+home+vol-down

N8010 bricked please HELP

I wanted to upgrade my N8010 from 4.1.2 to 4.4.2. What I did:
- downloaded this file N8000XXUDNE6_N8000ODDDNE4_N8000DDUCNE2_HOME.tar.md5 (it's rom for N8000 - my BIG MISTAKE)
- put tablet to downloading mode (power + volume down button)
- I remember that PRODUCT NAME was GT-N8010
- flashed the file via ODIN 3.07
After flash the device reseted itself and shows only "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" and nothing else. When I reset device, still the same. When I push home + vol down button I see the same message and in the left conner is:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N8000
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
AP SWREV: A2
I tried to flash different roms via ODIN with the same FAIL message. Again and again. I'm desperated, please help me!
I had it too, but nothing helped because of the bootloader. I had to bring it for a repair, luckily it fell under warranty eventhough I had rooted it. They did it in 7 days.
But you can always try something. There are a few threads on sammobile forums on how to do it, it might help.

It turned out to be pretty simple; just in case someone is in my shoes in the future, here's what I did:
Flash a stock rom using Odin 10.7.
(IMPORTANT) Do not let it boot up til it says drk fail, hold down the vol down, power, and home button to get back into the Download mode.
Flash PhilZ recovery using Odin 10.7. arter97 . com /browse/exynos7420/recovery/twrp/g925fi/
Once it's done, hold vol up, power, and home button to get back into the Recovery mode immediately.
I'd personally do a wipe to make sure nothing goes wrong, then backup the EFS and other partitions while I'm at it.
Then choose Reboot to go back into the Download mode.
Now flash CF-Auto-Roots using the attached Odin. forum.xda-developers . com /galaxy-s6/orig-development/cf-auto-root-t3056630
Let it do the installation on the phone. It will reboot a few times I think, and hopefully when it says Pass, the LED indicator starts glowing. Then it should be all good.

Dead Samsung S6?

Hi guys,
I just bought a S6 Edge (SM-G925i) via eBay. I now know why it was that cheap, it does not do a lot
What does work is getting into DOWNLOAD MODE.
In the download mode I get the following information:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G925I
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
Secure Download: Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x0500)
AP SWAEV: 8 : 3 K : 2 S : 2
I downloaded the official G925IDVU3FQD1_G925IXSA3FQC3_G925IDVU3FQC5_HOME.tar.md5 from Sammobile and installed it with ODIN (selected AP and process run to 100%).
But after this my phone keeps rebooting with the "Samsung Galaxy S6 Powered By Android" logo.
I cannot get into RECOVERY MODE (VOLUME UP + HOME).
I tried to install TWRP. It seems to install but after that I am again stuck in the "Samsung Galaxy S6 Powered By Android" logo.
Is it dead or are there things I can try?

Hi !
You should also try to restore the phone with Samsung official tool : Smart Switch
http://www.samsung.com/fr/support/smartswitch/
It's available for Mac OS and Windows

You cannot use Smart Switch when you only have DOWNLOAD MODE available.
Hi there,
This also happened to me today, I was just normally using the phone (internet and stuff) and suddenly went to reboot and got stuck to logo.
I tried flashing the stock rom, but no luck. Reboots and back to samsung logo. (or download mode, not even recovery is working).

Eish okay
I just gave up and took it to some service store to see what happened.
I'll ask him what happened and how he worked it out and let you know.
thanks alot waiting for your advice
same here
You said you tried to go to recovery by pressing vol up and home, you forgot the power button.
It's : power + up+ home. Try again.
And if not working, and only download mode available, use Odin and flash the software for your phone. Download the files from samobile (btw it will slow download , really slow)
We all tried flashing stock roms, as we said before. This is not the problem.
The problem is the DRK (device root key). It's all messed up.
This is beyond my phone skillz.
If you want you can try this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/how-to-repair-device-root-key-drk-sm-t3297383
I just took it to a phone repair store and he told me that the DRK is messed up and some other things.

Bootloop, can't enter Recovery mode

So my phone (S6, SM-G920F) crashed recently (completly out of the blue, I was opening a YouTube-Link I've sent myself via the PC) and I can only access the Download Mode, but not the Recovery mode.
What I've tried (In order):
-Flash any ROM (DTM, DBT, VIA [Different Carriers for Germany, I dont know if mines branded]), only the DBT (Universal) ROM even flashed, others just failed in Odin3, phone still doesn't work
-Install TWRP
-Use SmartSwitch (After some failed ROM-Installations, it showed the following Message on the screen of my phone:
Spoiler
"An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
, Smart Switch didn't even work. I've installed Samsung USB-Drivers first, then installed Smart Switch. If I try to use the Emergency Recover Function, Smart Switch just freezes up entirely
Does someone here know how I can fix my device?
Someone? D:
Download and run this;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462
When you open the program, type the values given here;
Model: SM-G920F
Region: XEF
Auto: Selected
Manual: Unselected
Binary Nature: Selected
Check CRC32: Selected
Decrypt automatically: Selected
When you write and select options given above, press "Check Update" and then press "Download" to download factory firmware for your device.
Once the download has been finished, extract the zip file that you've downloaded via SamFirm.
After unzip it, download and run this Odin (even if you have another one);
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3804544&d=1467772303
When you open it, press BL and select file which starts with BL from downloaded (from Samfirm) and extacted zip folder.
Do the same thing for AP, CP, CSC.
When you set 4 files to Odin, connect your phone in download mode.
After that, press Start. When Odin done the installation, phone will restart. When it is restarted, disconnect the cable.
After 1-2 minutes, phone will boot up as completely refreshed device.
Even this method doesn't fix your device, then you need to replace your motherboard.
Thank you so so much, it worked like a charm,
Your tutorial was my last chance, and by accident i found this thread who gave me the magic solution (sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language)
Cheers !
Thanks for providing the above detailed instructions forumber2. Apologies for chipping in on the thread, but i had almost exactly the same issues at the iamflee but with one key difference - my wife had dropped the phone down the toilet first! She retrieved the phone immediately powered off, sim card out etc. and left it in a bag of rice for a week to dry out. It wouldn't turn back on at all. I tried all combinations of buttons and nothing, until I plugged it into my laptop and found I could get it into Download mode (but not recovery or to boot).
I tried lots of different ROM's/ TWRP/ bootloaders etc. but no joy, and then came across your answer above.
I followed it to the letter and Odin completed successfully, however the phone did not reboot at the end, it simply turned off, and will not turn back on. I can get it into Download mode but that is all.
Please can someone confirm what I think I already know, that the phone is goosed and I need to move on and stop spending hours trying to get it to work again! Or is there one last glimmer of hope with something else that I can try.
Thanks,
Matt
I am aware this does not contribute to the problem, but may give context.
Currently, I am stuck with an Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F, which I am told 'randomly restarted' and since then was stuck on the Samsung boot screen. After the battery finally reached zero, it became stuck on the battery charging screen.
I have been able to force the phone to restart using either (Power + Vol Down + Home OR Power + Vol Down), but I am still greeted being stuck on the Samsung boot screen. Furthermore, I cannot boot into recovery mode (P + Vol Up + Home), but I can boot into download mode. However, Samsung Kies 2.6 is left on 'Connecting' in perpetuity without giving an error of any kind. I have installed the drivers provided and Windows detects the phone as a 'Gadget Serial'.
So, to clarify:
+ can boot into download mode
+Windows can detect the phone
- cannot boot into recovery mode
- stuck in boot loop
- Samsung Kies stuck on 'connecting'; hence emergency recovery is out the question
- Odin cannot detect the phone in download mode
I would conclude this SM-G920F motherboard has failed, or partially at least
same issue

was your phone submerged in water at all?
I have the same issue as the OP. J700F (J7-2015) stuck in boot loop.
+Charges
+Turns on but stucks on boot logo
+Can enter Download mode
+does show up in ODIN
-Cannot access recovery mode
-Cannot turn the phone on obv.
-Has FRP lock but I have the phone passcode and email (no email password duh)
Now I downloaded the correct firmware for my region (KSA; do I need to use XEF?) and connect my phone in download mode, select the files. now when I press start, it fails in ODIN and shows "Custom binary(boot) not allowed due to FRP" (I may have used wrong wordings but it seems it cannot install firmware due to FRP lock)
Now what am I looking at ?
