Any way to make usb otg work in cm11? i've tried a few different kernels and still can't get it to work.
Looks like so far this is the only thread that asks about broken usb OTG. Has anyone found a kernel that allows you to have mouse, keyboard, and USB storage support via OTG? I have never gotten a mouse to work with USB on this ROM, But on stock samsung firmware, you can get a mouse with a cursor and everything. Works with keyboards, and PS3 controllers as well.
But CM11 only has support for USB storage devices. What gives?

I know there is a hack for it to be enabled, and I know that Honeycomb 3.1 has this built-in, but I want to make sure that it comes on the XOOM before I buy it. Meaning, can I get a Micro-USB to USB adapter and use things like USB Mouse and flash drive?
USB host is native to Honeycomb 3.1. You will need a USB host cable or the Motorola camera connection cable. Most adapters do not have all 5 pins wired out to enable host mode recognition from the xoom. But yes, it works out of the box.
It wont work out of the box to read thumb drives. It will read mice cameras keyboards.
You have to root to read external thumb drives and hard drives.
Rooting is on my todo list anyway.
After tons of tries, the OTG function still not working in the way I expected, at least simply plug the USB stick to the OTG wire won't work(USB mice and keyboards work though, even my Logitech wireless mouse with an unifying connector works), but I noticed something really funny - - with a hub installed between the USB sticks and my Q, most of the USB sticks works, but not every hub, it's the hub in poor quality and build with bounded chip that works, I got a Fullspeed hub which have a Etron chip soldered on it but it never worked with my Q. What's more, if I connect my Q to the low-speed-bonded-chip-hub and then to the Full-speed-Etron-hub and then to a USB disk,it works!
The only possible reason I can imagine is that the OTG function of Q doesn't support any devices running on Fullspeed, and it needed a converter like a low-speed hub.
Any solution to this? Cuz carrying a extra hub around seems dumb!
BTW after upgraded to JB, I need the app 'OTG Helper' to mount the usb storage devices (in 4.0.4 Q will mount it itself), but mice and keyboards work just fine without this tool. And even with this tool, Q can only detect a SD card reader, but can't mount it (says no device found) and format the card to NTFS formation won't work either.Neither dose the USB hard drive(pressing the mount button and after a while it says the OTG didn't response but the busy LED of the hard drive flashs at regular intervals).
My USB OTG has stopped working I modified it so it had a male usb port for charging, two days ago it was fully functioning, pen drives ,sixaxis controller and usb mouse worked. Today only the mouse and sixaxis works, the pen drive is not recognised , i've tried 4 different ones which work fine on my laptop. This could either be the OTG cable or the physical charging port ? I've already tried flashing different roms but all have the same problem
Thanks
Hi there!
I've got my SIII running CM 10.2, and tonight my USB OTG cable came in the mail. Hooray! Except, when I tried it with my wired Xbox 360 controller, it didn't work. It's receiving power, because the Xbox logo blinks, but that's all it does. The adapter did work with my keyboard and a 64GB flash drive, however, so the cable isn't messed up. What setting do I need to change or app do I need to install to get it working?
Thanks for any help I can get!
Tried a couple more devices, and my Logitech controller won't work either, but an SD card reader will. There must be some option that I'm missing here to enable these controllers.
Bah. I cannot figure this crap out for anything.
Hi guys, should have my P8max tomorrow, was just wondering if any of you guys had tested USB OTG with it? If it can't do USB audio out then that's going to be a major problem for me (if it doesn't support it natively that's OK, providing an app like USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music Player works). Generally anything that has OTG support will work with those apps, so should be fine, but always nice to have confirmation - don't suppose anyone here has tested it out? Any other feedback about USB OTG welcome.
i tested internet via usb otg. It's not working bec. google has disabled usb otg on android 4.4 and higher. why? i don't know. it's stupid google decision.
internet via usb can be enabled but:
1. it's need root
2. it's always need wifi or fake wifi connection
3. stupid google
USB OTG drives work for me, the DACs I have also work, although they need USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music to function. Only phone I've tried with functional USB ethernet via OTG was the ASUS Padfone Infinity, and even there I suspect it only worked because the drivers were intended for use in tablet mode.
