[Q] LG Models differences - General Questions and Answers

Hi Guys!
Please can anyone explain me what is the difference between a LG E-615, E-615f and LG Optimus L5?
My question is about this:
I wanted a DUAL sim phone with 3G behaviour in the 900 and 1900 Mhz bands. My seller told me that the LG-E-615 was the one. If some one check this model at gsmarena.com it look like it is ok. But it´s not. This model only has 3G features at 900 and 2100 Mhz bands.
Is this a ROM feature?
Can I upgrade to a new one in order to gain 3G behaviour at the 1900 Mhz band? or there is a hardware restriction?
Thanks a lot for your tips and responses,
Regards,
Jean L

I need a phone with the following features:
1. 6 inch AMOLED screen
2. dual sim
3. dual core processor
4. To get 4G speeds on TMobile and ATT
This is the 1st and ONLY 6 inch phone that I have found which is listed to work on the following frequencies:
3G HSPA WCDMA (UMTS) 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
Quad-Band (4 Band) GSM GPRS EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
The phone model is: "EZIO N97" and it is selling on ebay for $271.
Can you please look at the specs and tell me if this phone will satisfy my needs.
The forum software will not let me post a link. But you can find it on ebay. It is being sold by the ebay user "tec-plus"
The title of the ebay listing is "*NEW* EZIO N97 6.0-inch ANDROID 4.0 3G GPS 8.0MP 2-SIM HD TABLET & SMARTPHONE"
If it does I will be sleeping with this phone everyday
Tx,
nope, missing 1700MHz for WCDMA, so unless you are in a refarmed area it's a no on t-mobile

It looks like US GSM Model (sold on Motorola US site) WILL work with Wind Mobile in Canada!
While AWS transmits on ~1710-1755 MHz and receives on ~2110-2155 MHz, this band is known as 1700 or Band IV or AWS.
2100 refers to Band I (2100 IMT), a totally different band which is used in Asia and Europe, but not in North America.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands
The US version supports AWS because that is what T-Mobile uses in the US, and it's the same band that Wind uses.

Wow, the UK version actually supports more band, it should be the global version. There are many countries provide Uim card (CDMA sim card) on their CDMA2000 network.
The Brazilian Dual Chip Version has the same Bands of the UK version.

I was actually wondering the same thing myself. I wanted to buy one here in the UK because it says it supports all the bands (including 1700), but is this in fact true, or is it just the Global version?

Hi
Are you sure Allewar?
Motorola Brasil and the store they point you to (http://www.lojaoficialmotorola.com.br/product/celulares/116699802/moto-getrade%3B-dual)
doesn't list AWS 1700 band. Unlike the UK version.
See my OP.
Thanks

From what I read in Canada we cannot get the 16gb version, have to find online somewhere.

Hello everyone, first post here!
I ordered a moto G from the us store since I have a connection in Washington state to ship it to. On their site they list 1700(aws) but not the 2100 needed for downloading.
I phoned motorola this morning and informed them of my uncertainty. The level 2 technician replied that the american phone will fully support 1700/2100 used by aws. I also informed the technician of my carrier, so it looks like the american gsm model will work with wind.
cheers :good:

Model: XT1032
Baseband: MSM8626BP_1032.3051.51.00R
I would love to know how to enable 1700/2100 bands on it!!!
Do we know if there are hardware differences? I would like to see if we can get a thread going for enabling AWS support on international GSM version. There is an extensive knowledge-base here on XDA when it comes to tinkering with the Galaxy S2 and S3 modems and NV parameters to enable Wind/TMO AWS. I remember at one point there was discussion of whether AWS was even possible on the S3 i747.
Any input would be appreciated!!

Hi matlabwtf! Welcome to XDA
Thanks for sharing your findings.
From what I've researched so far, 1700 MHz AWS band operates on 1700 up and 2100 down.
There's another AWS band as well, 2100MHz AWS band, it operates on 1900 up and 2100 down. It is used overseas, Asia, Europe, etc.
The carriers (cellphone companies and their employees) confuse people when they tell you need 1700/2100 band phone.
In reality you only need to make sure that the phone has 1700 AWS band, that's all.
Please let us know when your receive your handset, thanks.

Glad to help! Is there any way to know the model number and baseband for the US GSM (AWS) version?? If it's the same model then I bet it is just a matter of flashing the relevant modem and nvdata parameters.

Hey
I'd have to dig some more to find out if all the models have same radios internally. Supposedly there were 5 models of Moto G approved by the FCC in the US:
XT1032, XT1033, XT1034, XT1035, and XT1036

UK Version
Just wanted to add that the UK version, despite listing the 1700 UMTS on the UK Motorola site, does not list said band on the box. I checked in store today, and it only had UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100. Appears to be the same as the Global version being sold in the US.
Hi Irfan
If they have a working demo, would you be able to check the settings and look at the model number and baseband? Only if you get an opportunity that is...

New T-mobile LG Phone

I see Tmobile is soon going to get a new LG phone. the LG Optimus L90.
Specs: 1.2 ghz quad core, 1GB Ram, 8GB Storage, Android 4.4 kitkat, 4.7" qhd Display, 5 megapixle camera, and Radio bands: UMTS: Band V (850);UMTS/HSPA+: AWS Band IV / 2100 / 1900 / 850;Band II (1900);Quad Band GSM.
This phone looks to me like a LG Optimus G Pro for AT&T since it has somewhat of the same look but lowered specs.
So far it just says coming soon and the phone if you want to check it out is at the bottom of the "see all phones list" of T-Mobile.com

Does this phone indeed supports UMTS Band 1 ( 2100 ) ? I intend to buy this phone and use it in Europe.
LG site says it supports only Bands 2,4 and 5, while T-mobile site says it supports Bands 1,2,4 and 5. Whom to believe ?

[Completed] [Q] LG 3 D851 to D855? Confused!

Hey Guys, I couldn't find the answer anywhere so I hope this is the place to ask!
I'm going to buy an LG G3 however the cheapest 32GB version is model D851 which is T-Mobile and a US specified device.
"Technical Specifications
100 % Unlocked
The unit will have a network logo
The unit is unlocked
This is a US specification unit which has been unlocked permanently
General
2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network: LTE 700 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600
SIM: Micro-SIM
Model # LG-D851"
Is it possible to change the frequencies? i.e. to UK frequencies if so how and how complicated?
Thanks!:good:

Honor 6 H60-L12 Question on 4G/LTE band unlocking?

Hey guys,
Simple/quick question. With the H60-L12 model (4G LTE/NFC)...given root is available, has anyone been able to UNLOCK any other FDD LTE bands for 4G? Id really like to know if it's possible or been attempted, as it may just swing me from another competitors flagship if so.
Take for example B28 (FDD: 700Mhz) which is quickly becoming the newer/faster band used here in Australia. Could such a frequency be unlocked on this phone?
Also, can someone advise how well the LED colour rendering is with ROOT and using LIGHTFLOW app? Not sure if it renders more than 1, 3, 5 colours, etc. Please let me know. A short video would help!
Thanks!
RoOSTA
Otherwise, who are some of the devs here I can ask directly?
So that's a no?
Topsicle.
There is no answer because nobody knows what you are talking about.
There is nothing to unlock. If your model implements the frequencies they can all be used.
The frenquencies of H60-L12 are:
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: LTE 1800 / 2100 (Bands 1, 3)
So you have: GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/HSUPA/LTE Cat6

I dont think you know what you are talking about, actually.
Phones with Qualcomm chipset that currently have root access can have "FURTHER" unlock other bands. For exaple, LTE 700 MHz on 4G. It can be done, so has it worked on this phone?!
Google it, or check XDA for plenty of posts about it. I want to know if anyone has done it with this phone?!
