Hey Guys, I couldn't find the answer anywhere so I hope this is the place to ask!
I'm going to buy an LG G3 however the cheapest 32GB version is model D851 which is T-Mobile and a US specified device.
"Technical Specifications
100 % Unlocked
The unit will have a network logo
The unit is unlocked
This is a US specification unit which has been unlocked permanently
General
2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network: LTE 700 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600
SIM: Micro-SIM
Model # LG-D851"
Is it possible to change the frequencies? i.e. to UK frequencies if so how and how complicated?
Thanks!:good:

I have a T-Mobile Garminfone A50 in Canada.
Here's the question: the Nuvifone A50 has different specs than then USA released Garminfone a50. Namely the HSPA frequencies.
the Nuvifone A50: "Networks: HSDPA Cat 8 7.2Mbps, HSPA / WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100, GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, GPRS EDGE Class 12"
From T-Mobile USA: Networks: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, GPRS EDGE Class 12, UMTS HSPA 2100/1700, HSDPA Cat 8, 7.2 Mbps.
Looks to me as though the European Nuvifone A50 supports HSPA 850/900/1900 where the T-mobile USA one does not.
So, will rooting permit the T-Mobile phone to use the full spectrum of frequencies as the A50 does in Europe? I need the 850/1900 MHz range to get coverage where i live and i really like this phone and would rather not throw it in the garbage.
seems to me that it should be possible. i would think that they are the same phone just tmobile has locked those frequencies somehow? I'm new to the forum and hacking and would really appreciate any help/tips/tricks. basically the same question was posted by Spazmogen a year ago but i couldn't find any replies. Please help if you can! thanks
Had anybody got any further on this issue?
So far all my searches have come up with nothing certain. There is a lot of speculation about how the phones are built but that is about it. It will really suck if this phone wont handle 850 Mhz! (Au phone here btw)
Any gurus out there with more of an idea?
I have an opportunity for a really good priced P6800. The seller does not know which carrier it is...? Here is what I was told:
These are the networks that the tab will work with.
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
Please let me know.
Much appreciated!

Any GSM/HSPA network, which means about 99.99% of all networks in the world. Since you live in the USA, it means AT&T and T-Mobile (on most areas, in some places T-Mobile still didn't move their 3G band to the international standard frequency of 2.1GHz).

I need to change LTE bands for LG G2 D800 AT&T. I have tried selecting LTE band 3 in Hidden Menu but that did not help. I live in Pakistan and LTE band 3 (1800 MHZ) operates here. Or is it possible to change the radio of my phone? Or shall I try flashing a LG G2 D802 ROM on my phone? What would help?
Can someone please help me?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately your device simply doesn't have the hardware capability to operate on the band that your carrier operates on. A quick look at the specs for this device on GSM Arena found this information (see bold text for your specific D800 model):
LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600
(Bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20) - D802
LTE 700 / 1700 / 2100 (Bands 4, 13) - VS980
LTE 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600
(Bands 1, 3, 7, 8) - D802TA
LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
(Bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 17) - D800
LTE 800 / 1900 / 2500 (Bands 25, 26, 41) - LS980
For future reference you can find your device sub-forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Which carrier are you with and what bands do their 3G networks operate on? The phone you have has compatibility with the following bands:
GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
HSDPA (3G) 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
So you need to make sure your carrier is operating on those bands.
