I am wondering why the notification light can't be always on with third party apps...
I mean when i am charging my phone i use third party app to force led always on but instead the led is blinking very slowly...
Is that a hordware or a software problem?
I had a galaxy s3 and that was possible to force led always on...
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi,
It's not a problem, it's just designed like this.
If I'm not wrong some roms have a "always on led" behavior, but it's on the kernel side too...
For example from ElemantalX kernel OP:
-implement always on rgb led support (requires rom support)
Click to collapse
So maybe with a third party app you'll need that option must be implemented too in the rom and/or kernel?
I'm not sure...
What app do you use?

Thanks for the quick reply bro!!!
I used some other roms with build in menu for led light like omni rom and i had the same issue...
Maybe its the kernel like you said but i should try the elementalx kernel to see if your suggestions are correct...
I used all third party apps like led flow or light manager...
Re,
But does Omni rom have this "led always ON" (check the features/changelog)? I use also a rom with led settings built in but there is no way to have the led always ON.
If I'm not wrong CM have it...

Yep, same thing for me, maybe try ElementalX kernel since it supports the led always ON.
Or wait for another advice

Hey, lately my captivate decided to switch its notification ways. Instead of vibrating and showing that i got a text at the type, it just stays silent and turns on LED home buttons. I have no clue what i changed. I don't have any LED hack apps. If this happened to you, please help. Thanks

Hello everyone!
I have a question.
I have a Nexus S with BLN turned on. It's working excellent except when i receive a message
via Viber it doesn't turn on. Actually it turns on but it turns off in a second because the screen
turns on.
So my question is: Is there a way to disable the screen turning on when i get a message on Viber so that
BLN could work?
Thanks!

I've changed numerous roms and the message always turns on the screen. It doesn't unlock it, only turns it on.

Ru using NSTools?
If not change kernels and use NSTools so u can control the length of the BLN.
Some ROMs kernels are just basic, so getting a better kernel gives u more options and control.
Search ur ROMs thread to see what kernels work best with it.
Good luck

I've used NSTools since i rooted my Nexus which was in december of 2011.
And i always use Marmite kernel which has plenty of options so...
Nonetheless, thanks for your help man!
If it won't work, it won't work. I can live without the light for Viber messages.

It's a Viber issue. Viber team has stated multiple times they would fix this, yet haven't because they lack the "man power". Usually a pretty simple fix, heck, it has to be implemented for the screen to turn on rather than for it NOT to turn on, but whatever.

BLN problem
Hi all!
I've Nexus s/CyanogenMod/Marmite 8.5 BM.
The BLN keys don't work with the marmite kernel but work with stock cyanogenmod, marmite does not support BLN or I've made an error?
thanks ......
Install NSTools from Play and activate BLN.

Marmite supports BLN but not blinking.. if u want the blinking leds u could use BLN CONTROL from play google.. It should works on CM 10 too..
Hi,
I search an app (for my unrooted device) that can wake up the phone from stand-by with a "double tap" on the screen. Like the LG G2 has.
The only thing that was better on my old Xperia Arc, was the home button on the front that wakes the phone. If the phone lies on the table, tapping the side-button of the Nexus to wake up the device is a little tricky... double-tapping to wake up the phone would be really cool
Anybody knows an app that works like this? Thanks for help in advance.

This indeed sounds awesome.
I think this will be implemented in the near future in some kernels. No sure though.. I've seen it in some kernel options when I had the GS3...

You might try Touch Control
Based on user feedback, it seems to cause some problems and high battery drain, though.
Touch Control didn't work for me, because I didn't want to flash back to stock kernel. I'm using Bricked kernel, where it can be enabled through KControl. There's no way to do it without rooting/flashing though, at least not that I know of. Go here for more info on Bricked

I really hope franco adds dt2w and s2w to his kernel. I much prefer franco over bricked (I got better battery life and performance) but I really want dt2w as well... sigh

I mean...like any other audio processing app. Wavelet is basically viper but "lite" version of it. Same developer behind both.
Not sure about those reports but never experienced any "battery drain" with it.
Ah thanks for the feedback!

JamesDSP working fine for me. Need to say "Yes" when it asks you if you have a Huawei device. Viper4Android-RE also works for me (for those options that have had their functions enabled).
V4A-RE, RootlessJamesDSP, Wavelet, plenty of options available. Personally I use Wavelet. Seems to be the easiest for my use case (primarily for AutoEQ)

Seeing as all of those things do software signal manipulation rather than using hardware DSP, obviously they will work the CPU harder, which will in turn cause increased battery consumption.
JamesDSP and Viper RE are working just fine here. Mind you, the current Viper RE only has a few settings working.

Well very true, but the thread I read (telegram I think?)a couple of people were suggesting it really drains it. Anyway I guess I can see for myself!

Hmm, for me James DSP complains it cannot be installed on a 64 bit only system. Europe you mind sharing where you got it?
Also tried ViperRE, always complains about not being installed...
Well you need to flash the viper module as well.

You can download jamesdsp here https://zackptg5.com/android.php
Select yes when it asks about Huawei device.
It does work, I have tried them myself.
The module was not installing for me, complaining about compatibility. But I'll try again with the Huawei thing, thanks!
