Hey, lately my captivate decided to switch its notification ways. Instead of vibrating and showing that i got a text at the type, it just stays silent and turns on LED home buttons. I have no clue what i changed. I don't have any LED hack apps. If this happened to you, please help. Thanks

crap for me lol
i used the bln control app, but now after my phone vibrates on a text the notification goes away and is freezing up
EDIT: It's fixed now woot, thanks guys. Now I just have to find out why it's been freezing up today, I ran the stability test and neocore for 10 hours as I was sleeping and no errors came up. Will do again tonight.

Anybody have this working on their phone yet?
tested on my i9020a and doesnt work either for me anyone?
Seems to work fine on mine.

thats odd i tested it using the free version and the BLN test didnt even work. Tried calling a few times and missing the call as well as texting my phone and leaving the message unread and still nothing. Wonder if this is the case with only the rogers/fido/telus/bell i9020as as some of us had to root via the i9023 CWM recovery.
Yeh, I got caught with the problems of flashing the i9020 CWM instead of the i9023 version but the BLN is working for me both with the free non-blinking test and pro blinking test.
The NSCollab ROM I'm using includes the latest Netarchy 1.3.0.3 CFS kernel. Maybe that's the reason it's working for me??
really thats interesting, the kernel i tested one was the 1.3.0.3 netarchy kernel i guess i'll have to test it using the paid version and see wat happens
edit: tested using the paid version and it seems like its the i9023 root method thats screwing things up a little.

That's what I was kinda wondering about the i9023 recovery, I guess that is what is doing it. I have the paid version of BLN as well, and it didn't make any difference.
did a bit more testing and it seems that BLN does work, but only for SMS and not for missed called even with the LED notification on for missed called.
Took mine back to 2.3.3 stock, installed Netarchy latest 1.3.0.3 kernel and now I'm getting the same behaviour: BLN test doesn't work, LED notification on missed calls not working but LED notification on new email is working.
Might try flashing the NSCollab ROM again to see what happens.
Tried running fix permissions on the stock ROM but this didn't seem to fix BLN notifications.
Reflashed NSCollab ROM. Tested BLN and initially still not working but after a reboot it's all working properly again.
so it might just be a stock rom + BLN kernel issue has any of the kernel devs looked into this?
I tried it out a few hours ago on my 9020a with CM7 and the Trinity UV kernel and so far BLN free version works great, not that I have much use for it, never used it on my Galaxy s but will see.
I too am having issues with it working on calls. emails/txts it works without fail.
EDIT:seems i found the issue. its the good old BFS choose a kernel that doesn't use it and it works fine. Seems bfs doesnt really like the 9020a's.

im using it with netarchy 1.3.0.3 CFS so im not sure if the BFS is the sole cause of this
Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone got BLN working on the Jame Bond kernel ?
I've read in that thread that it supports Voodoo and BLN and I'm using the Sabai dee kernel but BLN doesn't seem to work for me ?
To be honest, I'm not too sure how to run the test. I click on it and it says press the power button to test it, which I do, but then my screen just turns off and nothing happens....am I doing something wrong ?
I also brought the pro version, and tried calling myself and sending myself an email and nothing happened.
Any suggestions ?
Cheers in advance
I'm running SupeAosp 6.2 Rom and BLN works perfectly for with, this includes missed calls and notifications. The Kernel that I'm using is 2.6.35.12-SuperAosp-S-1400. Apparently the next upgrade is going to be compiled with the UV which I am planning to test out as soon as its released. Furthermore as a bandage solution people can use NoLED without any mods at all, I found the app quite useful as I was not experienced enough to recompile with BLN included.
I forgot to mention, I am using an i9020A.

first of all make sure all your settings are correct in the bln app...
bln works for the 9020a, but I forget if the missed call works or not...everything else seems to. with that being said, the issues with stock and the missed call not working will be sorted shortly...when the 9023 gets working...its not the 9023 recovery causing the problem
I'm using NOLED right now, and it's okay, tho I'm a bit concerned about battery life. I know there's an mod BLN that allows the flashing of the backlight leds, but are there currently any gingerbread kernels/roms that are compatible with it? Or do I have to go back to a 2.2 froyo kernel/rom? Thanks.
nope sorry

Nope, need the source for the kernel for modifications like that.
Thanks guys, too bad, I guess I'll have to stick with battery draining NOLED for now.
Hello everyone!
I have a question.
I have a Nexus S with BLN turned on. It's working excellent except when i receive a message
via Viber it doesn't turn on. Actually it turns on but it turns off in a second because the screen
turns on.
So my question is: Is there a way to disable the screen turning on when i get a message on Viber so that
BLN could work?
Thanks!

Ru using NSTools?
If not change kernels and use NSTools so u can control the length of the BLN.
Some ROMs kernels are just basic, so getting a better kernel gives u more options and control.
Search ur ROMs thread to see what kernels work best with it.
Good luck

I've used NSTools since i rooted my Nexus which was in december of 2011.
And i always use Marmite kernel which has plenty of options so...
Nonetheless, thanks for your help man!
If it won't work, it won't work. I can live without the light for Viber messages.

It's a Viber issue. Viber team has stated multiple times they would fix this, yet haven't because they lack the "man power". Usually a pretty simple fix, heck, it has to be implemented for the screen to turn on rather than for it NOT to turn on, but whatever.

BLN problem
Hi all!
I've Nexus s/CyanogenMod/Marmite 8.5 BM.
The BLN keys don't work with the marmite kernel but work with stock cyanogenmod, marmite does not support BLN or I've made an error?
thanks ......
Install NSTools from Play and activate BLN.

Marmite supports BLN but not blinking.. if u want the blinking leds u could use BLN CONTROL from play google.. It should works on CM 10 too..
I am wondering why the notification light can't be always on with third party apps...
I mean when i am charging my phone i use third party app to force led always on but instead the led is blinking very slowly...
Is that a hordware or a software problem?
I had a galaxy s3 and that was possible to force led always on...
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi,
It's not a problem, it's just designed like this.
If I'm not wrong some roms have a "always on led" behavior, but it's on the kernel side too...
For example from ElemantalX kernel OP:
-implement always on rgb led support (requires rom support)

So maybe with a third party app you'll need that option must be implemented too in the rom and/or kernel?
I'm not sure...
What app do you use?

Thanks for the quick reply bro!!!
I used some other roms with build in menu for led light like omni rom and i had the same issue...
Maybe its the kernel like you said but i should try the elementalx kernel to see if your suggestions are correct...
I used all third party apps like led flow or light manager...
Re,
But does Omni rom have this "led always ON" (check the features/changelog)? I use also a rom with led settings built in but there is no way to have the led always ON.
If I'm not wrong CM have it...

Hi,
You're welcome
Thanks for the feedback, good to know!
Stock Xoom does not start when on charge or on battery alone.
Was working fine yesterday, but when trying to start it today and nothing happened. Put it on charge and still no response.
Need your suggestions on what to do next or is the next step to buy another tablet?

Experienced the same problem: Xoom with reasonable charge left, left alone either overnight or for an hour, attempt to wake but no response. Plugging in charger, white light doesn't come on but the Vol Up + Power trick wakes it.
Any ideas why this is happening? I'm running Omni ROM v.20140321 on Xoom WiFi.

I had that same problem as i believe quite a few do with Omnirom. I simply flashed the original elemental kernel instead of staying with the built in slightly modified elemental kernel the omni rom uses and it has stopped.

Many thanks for the tip. Should I flash the latest Elemental Kernel ElementalX-Xoom-2.1 or one of the earlier versions? If the earlier version, please specify.

Use the latest and make sure you use the one for bigpart or nonbigpart depending on what build you have. Doesn't matter if you use vanilla with no GPU OC or the one with GPU OC. I personally use the GPU OC version.
Latest version (requires big part mod):
ElementalX-Xoom-2.1

Thanks again. I've flashed Elemental 2.1 and also increased minimum speed to 456 MHz. It's still early days but haven't experienced any wake/boot issues. I will update after a week.
