[Q] Anyone with Juice Defender and Root?

I'm wondering if anyone with Juice Defender and the CPU speed control can tell me if it works well or not?
Also, anybody try the AOSP helper??

Anyways: I don't use Juicedefender because I think it reduced stability of my phone/doesn't defend its juice. However if you're looking for free CPU Sliders check out ROM Toolbox.

Yes it's definitely safe and stable. Make sure that you confirm that a certain setting works before selecting "Apply on boot" and you'll be fine.

[Q] Having some heating issues. need some suggestions.

Hello I am having heating issues. I'm not sure if this is normal or not and would like to know if there is anything I can do to reduce the heating issue?
I rooted my phone about 3 months ago. I installed the Liquid Smooth Rom. However I re-flashed TW because of some feature that I missed.
I have these apps on my phone: Rom Toolbox; Titanium Backup; EZ-Unlock; Root Checker Basic; Rom Management; Root Explorer; SD Booster; Trickster Mod & Supersu.
I've tried underclocking the phone by lowering the CPU max in both Trickster Mod and Rom Toolbox but both seem to revert back to the highest CPU settings.
My issue is that when I run my tethering app (pdanet/foxfi) my phone gets really hot and my battery drains like crazy.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I mean, I have those apps I listed above but really don't know how to set them up correctly to control my phone efficiently.

prolonged tethering is going to stress the battery. Plus, pdanet and foxfi are not too reliable or efficient (my experience)
if you're on TW, I'd do a search for WifiTether_TrevE_Mod. I think it may be on google playstore as well.

Also, is there a optimization thread somewhere? I would like to know how to optimize my phone for top battery efficiency while not giving up to much on the usability side. I know about screen brightness and keeping my sync off and all of the basic things. I would like to know how to set up my system and such. I've froze many of the bloatware apps using TiBu but this hasn't resulted in the marked improvement I was hoping for. Maybe I didn't freeze the right ones.

One recommendation. Don't run 2 CPU management apps at once. Bad **** happens. Gerry rid of rom toolbox and keep trickster

[Q] Music problems, Flashlight gesture not working...

I have some problems with the OPO nothing big:
Connection to a headphone often dont work, it plays but i cant here it.
Flashlight gesture ON is often not working, i think it just dont wake ups the phone, OFF works fine.
Using: ParanoidAndroid4.5B1
Anybody has the same problems? My phone is undervolted to -87mV, but i dont think thats the problem.

Is your headphone... happen to be a headset? (with a microphone)?
The flashlight gesture on/off is a ROM problem (or maybe its just you) you have to ask in your respective ROM thread to be sure.
What kernel are you using?

I had a similar problem when it comes to headsets. Try this, plug in the headphone jack very slowly until you hear a "static" pop when you hear it, leave it there for a couple seconds and then plug the jack fully in. When you hear the static pop, 1-2 seconds later it should start playing the music.
I prefer Franco Kernel but currently I'm testing AK Kernel as Franco hasn't been updated for awhile so I'm going around testing what other kernels have to offer. AK kernel seems to have this problem resolved, give that kernel a try and see if your headphone problem still occurs.
Well I don't use PA so I can't really help you with that. Its most likely a ROM problem if the gestures are enabled.

I heard of someone whos phone often got hot in his pocket, because the flashlight was activated by this gesture in his pocket. Maybe they tried to fix this and this is a bug..?

They fixed this in the 30O OTA. They've made it so it uses a proximity sensor so if its blocked, gestures are disabled.

So since your post it tried to switch to AK.
Now im done.
I did flash a old version because it didnt read (at all )
Lets try it... it dont seems to be as smooth as Franco

It works with AK? .... yeah AK you kind of need a tweaking app, their default settings aren't optimized. It still has mpdecision on even though intelliplug is in the kernel. Thats one thing I like about Franco Kernel, it doesn't have as many customizations for the kernel but the default settings are very optimized so it works good out of the box. For AK, I have to customize everything to my liking including intelliplug, governors, etc.

V for light works better and the music problems are gone
Can u post some of your settings?
I dont want the same again, i spent many hours for optimizing the **** called s3.

Odd... Ak fixed my audio problem.

I'm having a similar problem, no audio through headphones.
I'm on PA and AK.
I thought it was to do with PA so posted my issue there, but now I think it may be the kernel.
Also I get audio output at first it goes away when I get a notification(audio), but that too is very random, some notifications don't affect it some do.
Only a reboot fixes it temporarily, till another notification triggers the issue

I'd recommend tasker as well. set with a profile for screenoff to run greenify all apps.
sometime greenify wont run on its own... with tasker it force it to run

there were some fha/dha memory tweaks for the s6 build.prop about a year ago....
im testing now and so far incredible (30+ apps open with no redraws). just want to wait another day or so to verify stability

havent tried the dha stuff... but the fha is working like a champion.
if i can remember to do it... i'll right up a flashable to delete existing dha values from build.prop and inject the fha stuff

I'll have to look it over. GovTuners working pretty well for me (same with the build.prop tweaks)... and I had issues with on on my lg g4...

lspeed and govtuner seemed to conflict with each other9

did you remove govtuner? in my case I tried govtuner and the phone lagged even worse, rebooted and now I tried all the permormance profiles in ls speed and seems a little better, still of course you can see the lag some times

Try to enable init.d. should be an option in kernel aduitor!

Edit: dropped down performance number to 7 from 10. Gonna see if I can get better SOT.

I play small games, nothing that would effect battery. And with performance you get to go to 10. I'm going to try power saving mode on it.
Edit: Seems to run fine with it on battery profile. I also used kernel aduitor and set the big cpu to interactive and left the little ones on conservative. I enabled apply on boot as well I'm getting a full charge to see how it is on battery!

Usually it's kernel based. Not sure about magisk. Lots of them support it but most of them need you to turn it on/off manually. I like elemental ex kernel because flar2 (the developer) provides a paid app that makes high brightness mode fully automatic. You can even Adjust the light threshold by which it comes on and off. I have it and love it on 9.0.5 oos. Worked for me rooted on 9.0.4 as well.

You can also buy high brightness mode for like $1 in the play store. If don't want to pay, custom ROMs, kernels or magisk modul.

I use the app, it works fine for me. You won't get a display as bright as the high end flagships like Samsung or Apple, but it definitely increases the brightness when you're outdoor

Apparently the app is developed by the guy who makes the ex kernel so I think I'm gonna use both. Thanks!

I have not received my ONEPLUS 6 yet.. so just curious if you all feel like Stock OnePlus brightness is decent in direct sunlight?

Yup, that's what I do! I also recommend the magisk module lkt for battery savings.

It's awful I cant see anything at direct sun light. For some reason it's a bit brighter on oreo.
