The minimum brightness is still very bright in my XL .....at night i ve to use night filter, a kind of app that puts a black colour filter over screen.....
This lowers the contrast and screen looks washed out .
I found a fix in Gravity box......i managed to lower the brightness to a lot lower level.....now i dont even use night mode filters....screen has good contrast at night too and my eyes are not strained anymore ......this likely improves battery life too .
Steps :
1. Install Xposed .....set it up
2. Download Gravity box module .
3. Under the Display tweaks and go to brightness settings
4 . Set minimum brightness level to 5 as shown in the screenshot .
5. Reboot
Enjoy

I too use screen filter but as he said it lowers contrast ratio too, and this tweak will save battery too thus more useful
Can you do something similar to this, but with the volume, and instead of reducing the high-volume limit, increase it?

Sorry , i cant do anything in this regard.
But in my Xperia Tipo , the volume level was higher in cm10 with DSP Manager compared to Sony stock rom with xLoud.
So, dont lose ur hopes until cm11 arrives .

This is not true, you CAN get screen rendering just like night mode (like single colour only) by installing an application called Chainfire 3D. It's useful if you're at the movies or don't want to light up the whole room with the bright XP screen

Hi guys,
I was recently making a video using the Xperia Play Camera & indoor it was lacking contrast & was a challenge to see what was going on as it was too dark
So like i said, can someone mod the stock camera app to have the options to change brightness, contrast & all these other standard effects?
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone
I found this app named GLtools it can increase gaming perfomance by decreasing quality I play gta 3 on.my xperia tipo lag is almost nill by using 0.5x resolution
It works same as chain fire 3d
Its an awesome app everyone should try it
I tried on xperia tipo on cm10
Heres the playstore link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ce=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=gltools
Feature list
- Change resolution and rendering bitness in any app, even if it doesn't support that by default.
- Change GPU name and enjoy enhanced graphics even on a noname low-end GPU.
- Take full control over textures: now you can decompress/recompress them (even if your GPU doesn't support that
texture format) and resize. Note that decompression feature is available only if you'll install a plugin (internet is
required to do that)
- Optimize shaders on-the-fly for optimal performance (the same optimizer is used in Unity3D engine by default)
- Enable MSAA or CSAA in any app to improve graphics quality (make sure that your GPU supports that)
- Measure gained performance with a nice onscreen FPS counter (or you can output FPS information to Logcat if you
are a pro)
Also attached my benchmark on xperia tipo

This thing is seriously effective; with this and Seeder, you won't see any lag while gaming!
The settings I use: AA is 4x non-Tegra (yes, I know AA makes it slower), textures downscaled to 0.5x, full resolution, fake GPU info of Adreno 320, no decompression or recompression of textures (I don't know how it affects performance).

Nope, not for me. Expanding RAM will decrease the life of your SD card. I paid 20 Euros for my Class 10 16 GB card, and I'm not in the mood to buy a new one soon... I am using swap in the system and cache partition, but that's because those aren't completely full and swapping won't have a negative effect(thanks to @[email protected] for the explanation)
Will try GLTools in the afternoon, looking forward to it.

Well, you can flash it. It won't brick your device. But it's a different phone with different spaces in the partitions. I'm not sure if you will benefit from it.
Just make a back-up and flash it. See if you gain performance or if it doesn't make a difference.
For me, it does.

Cause it tries to fill your phone's screen, even though you have set it to 0.25 times the resolution, so it just tiles itself?
Lowering resolution is the most effective framerate-wise, but the viewing experience is crap.

Hey guys I just wanted to share I played around with the files and it was so hard to figure out how to get bass on this phone
I could enable temporary the bass with also mixer now I could enable permanently.
U will set the SAMPLERATE of the phone to
Frequencies:
KHZ_192
KHZ_96
KHZ_48
And set FORMAT to
Bit Depth:
S16_LE
S24_LE
Navigate to system/etc/mixerpath.xml
Open and
Scroll down to speaker settings in like in Screenshot
And put these lines
<ctl name="SLIM_0_RX SampleRate" value="KHZ_192" />
<ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Format" value="S24_LE" />
Just add and configure with viper4android
Because the Sony Walkman equalizer don't work after this.
U will hear the bass greatly
Enjoy
PS: it will work on all Kk devices based on Sony firmware
Included
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
Etc
Not sure if it work with cyanogenmod roms just test
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It actually works, thanks a lot! But now I can't actually adjust the volume, which is a major problem. Have you got any ideas? ?
Edit; Actually , if you turn off clear audio it works again. , also do you think it might work if we add those bits to the headphone section? With a few adjustments.
And you have to adjust The speaker with viper if you have it Volume boosted by the way.

Go to all mic section
Speaker-mic section
Stereo-mic etc
Everything related to it and change the
ADC Volume .. It have different names
ADC1

ADC3

ADC5
So most probably it's always at 12 just trigger it to 19
Same for camcorder-mic
You will have better sound record push it to 19 and the DEC3 Volume to 89 normally it's 83 or 82

Got some touch problems. Also can't change the resolution.
Seems to be working quite well for me.
For the touch problems, it looks like the buttons are out of "alignment", if I can call it that. I have to tap just to the right of the button. For example, to change the photo type, tap on the right edge of the camera icon in the top right corner.
Swipe right to get to the resolution settings.
Only thing that doesn't seem to work is the Exposure setting. But that's OK, since I know next to nothing about photography. Auto mode all the way for me. Wish it had HDR setting, to turn it on/off.
