Got some touch problems. Also can't change the resolution.

Seems to be working quite well for me.
For the touch problems, it looks like the buttons are out of "alignment", if I can call it that. I have to tap just to the right of the button. For example, to change the photo type, tap on the right edge of the camera icon in the top right corner.
Swipe right to get to the resolution settings.
Only thing that doesn't seem to work is the Exposure setting. But that's OK, since I know next to nothing about photography. Auto mode all the way for me. Wish it had HDR setting, to turn it on/off.

You know, I wonder if that would fix the problem with the on-screen buttons not being aligned with our taps...

But it would be good to see what dpi it uses I've looked on the Moto 4g forum but it's quite sparse..

I was using the one+ cam but this one is much better. i like the design to, thanks for the link.

The two options in the DPI slider in Android N settings resulted in being unable to accurately use the interface, manually setting DPI to 424 works though. I guess it doesn't support scaling

Camera - any way to manually focus?

When working with the camera, sometimes the autofocus seems fickle and does not get the focus good. Is there any way I can do manual focus? Do I need another app for that?
Thanks

Yes just touch the screen when you are in the camera app. A small white box will appear and you can manually focus.

So long as he's using the stock Camera app!
No...he wants to set the focus distance by putting values like 5 cm, 6 cm or so...
This feature is mostly found in LG's cam appz

I know. Pretty stupid if you ask me. This camera doesn't have the settings the G2 has. Not sure why.

LG opted to have less bloat so that's why. I think the camera is fine how it is, although options are always good.

Try a third party camera app with those settings, it's possible they're there just the stock app doesn't have control of them

good point, any recos?
Sorry no, as long as it goes click when it's supposed to that's a good enough camera for me lol
But I've seen them, there are more advanced camera apps in the play store, perhaps Google it?

Try this ... A Better Camera
I also recommend A Better Camera. It's what I use and I can confirm that even the free version allows you to control the ISO and White Balance settings (along with lots of other things too). I haven't seen anything about the stabilization settings, so I think you are out of luck there.
PS - you can change the stock action of holding down the volume down key when the screen is off and it can start A Better Camera instead of the stock camera if you want. That's what I do. I think I'm doing this with the G3 TweaksBox xposed module.
Image stabilization.... it's hardware, you can never turn it off

Try the stock Google Camera. I did several shots using it and the stock and favored the Google shots over the stock in 2 of the 4 comparisons. It doesn't have a lot of settings but ISO is one of them.

Camera app like iPhone?

Hi. I'm a new z1c user and I'm loving everything except the camera.
Anybody know how I can get the camera to shift White balance according to where I tap?
On the iPhone for example if there's a bright spot and the picture looks too dark, if you tap a dark spot it will adjust the colors shop that the colors balance according to your objective.
Can the Z1c do this too?
I've only seen the manual mode which is far worse send more complicated than the standard camera app on the iPhone (which I hate as a phone)
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Free mobile app
It actualy only adjusts exposure (on iPhone).
I don't know an app that does this by tapping, but you can adjust it in manual mode by taping the icon between the flash and scene mode.
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Free mobile app
It sounds like you want touch focus. Z1c does this: go to settings in camera app and change focus mode to touch focus.

He wanted touch focus with touch exposure together. I know Iphone and HTC does support that but our z1c no.
Or just download Google camera app
It supports touch focus and exposure

So basically you're not getting that I'm asking about an app that does these things automatically like on iOS.
None of these do it

Yeah it doesn't balance the whites as good as the HTC (HTC one's white balance > iphone's, iphone's pic quality > HTC one's) but for what we are left with, I guess it does its job done. But can be better. If ill find any other app that can do the touch exposure thing, I'll buy it and use it as my camera app on my phone.
Sorry if you had to waste few bucks on the paid apps I mentioned.
Try to contact snap hdr team and tell them about this exposure feature maybe they might listen?

Moto x Pure Cam update Nice difference !

Anyone agree that the Cam update in play store made a Huge diffenece in focus quality and over all image quality.
To me its way better .

It really made a difference
Now on the other hand of you look at blisspop 6.0.1 ROM that camera is even better
All types of modz baked in even jpg quality increase to 100%

Does anyone know of there's a way to make the focus and final picture in settings without having the initial object being the only clear image and not the back ground blurry

How do you update the camera? I'm also on version 5.1.13.12? Or is that the three updated version?

5.1.13.12 is the current version.
Up until now I pressed on the focus button and I took the pic. Now this doesn't work.
Am I wrong?
You now press anywhere on the screen apart from the focus point.
Also by tapping and holding the focus button you can lock focus? Was this there before?

Those are both new features I believe. The new camera update is super nice. I'm even getting pretty good low light photos. I'm shocked.

Thanks, I was just wondering.
Haven't tried the camera a lot with the new update. I'm eager after these comments about the quality.
How is it updated? Through Play Store?
Yes. If you'll be able to update camera app it'll be able in play store.

Thanks. I haven't actually gotten the phone. Which is weird because I decided to buy it this late in the year. Pretty excited to install the update for the phone once I receive it.
Edit: Just started wondering if the this can be installed on the XT1572 Style..
Hey guys, how is the exposure improved? Other than low light improvement, I sure hope the overblown highlight is fixed as well. The overblowing problem makes its photos less attractive than others.

Camera Alternative

Hi i was looking for a camera with a tap to shoot mode, like the motorola one, but i can't find one =/ i tried to install every port but without success. (btw i know we can tap to shoot but it focuses on the zone you touch)
Try cameramx, just turn it on i the settings. Overall good app which invludes the live photo feature from IOS. Only thing is no 8x zoom but it does have what your looking for and its free

Thank you! that's actually a nice camera app! And with g4 tweaksbox i can actually use it with volume- in the lock screen
Edit: dam, actually the focus is a lot slower with a moving object
Got same question. Is there any real alternative ? I know there is a lot of camera apps on Play, but only stock support 4K and @120 video. Is there any port of camera from G4 or something else which work properly ? I feel slo mo would be just much better with a bit better bitrate.
