Unresponsive screen after Xperia J dove into the water - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hey guys!
My bother's brand new xperia J screen stoped responding after he droped it into water.
Actually it died completelly, but after several days in a bag of rice, it was able to suck in the humidity in it, and now everything works except for the touchscreen. Once I saw it booting with clear image on the screen, I thought everything would be fine.
Do you have any other sugestions? Maybe the humidty wasn't completelly sucked and its preventing the touchscreen to work.
Thanks guys

I don't know, maybe you should replace the touchscreen, and pray for everything else to be okay

Really? No quirks? Full 100% working?
Wow.
Did it just touch the water, or fell in it?
Curious, I'm sorry .
Have a nice day!

It seems only the alert light at the top (when u get a call or sms it turns on) seems not to work now.
I believe cause it might still be some hujmidty in it.
But I've saved lots on electronics using this method. Including charked laptops and cellphones found on the ground dirty water.
this one fell on the sink I think and it dove enterelly in it.

Yeah, the rice is said to soak up the water - one of my friends said he saved his S4 that way.

Sensation takes a fall...

...and lands without a scratch!
My gf dropped my phone tonight while taking a picture at dinner. Phone fell from about 1.2m, hit her leg on the way down and hit the hard tile floor screen side down with quite a bit of force.
Phone was naked and is still in perfect condition!
Whew! and Woohoo!!!

at least i didnt post in android development forum, can i at least get credit for that!? lol
Mine falls 3 times, from 1,5m, 2m... even when running for bus, on brick... no scratch at all, except small scratchen on back
Mine fell once completely flat with the screen facing down. I was at a store and the crash sounded so bad that even the cashier made a bad face. The phone looked fine but seems like the vibrate motor came a bit loose.

Yeah, I think my vibrate motor became loose after a bad fall too. Now every time my phone stops vibrating, I tap the bottom back of the phone, but I might need to tighten it somehow D':

Well, mine was in the breast pocket of my suit the other day when I was shot. It took the bullet but the force still threw me backwards into a busy road where I was run over by a bus...not a scratch on me or the phone. No, wait a minute, none of that happened ; )
I will say that the screen is far less scratch resistant than my old HD2 which didn't need a screen protector, whereas this one definitely does. Corning's gorilla (Gerald) obviously had a bad day when he made the glass for my phone.

Conversion to HVGA? :-d

Been to a beach last week, had my phone in my pants, forgot it, got it all wet and its not functioning right now. Lost my warranty. guys over samsung say it will take about Rs.5000. So i brought it back home, opened it up, and geez the motherboard was all messed up with, i dunno, white stuff . I washed both the board and the display (that was silly, but i had nothing to lose anyway) I brushed it clean. and it actually started working! just the mother board. Washing the display unit (or whatever its called) was a big mistake. Now I can hear sounds, but no touch response or display. So i think its beyond repair . I have to replace it anyway now.
So that the story. But what I am confused about is. the phone is QVGA. What if i connect the motherboard to the display unit of some HVGA phone like the Ace. and maybe if i flash an HVGA rom too, somehow :silly:. Will it actually work? or is there more to it? Dumb question maybe. But i think you guys can help out....

great GS III story

The rent a car I was driving caught on fire, I stopped the car and ran out. I went to make a call but... my phone was still in the car on the charger. The car was on fire for roughly 5-7 minutes before the firemen came and drenched the car in water. I had a black phone from the smoke and it was wet. When the guy handed it to me I touched the screen and it came on. I made calls and it worked fine.
Really crazy but the phone is working fine. GS III tough phone!
Oh yeah PS I am fine

Haha, of course you are fine, you took off and left your best buddy in the car! (GS3).
just kidding, glad you're OK, you sound like...it's funny but I bet you scared when this happened.
pics or it didnt happen.
I dropped mine in the sink with running water. Water went in but it still works just fine. I pulled the battery and dried it. I kept pulling the battery door every few hours to find more water drops. I also downloaded a movie on 4g to make it hot in a desperate attempt to evaporate any remaining water

On the other hand it would be cool to see pics of the after effects of the fire...
I thought I read somewhere that Samsung was going to start coating their phones with something to make them more resistant to water damage, maybe it was true.
That is awesome
Nice, Glad youre ok.

When I saw that I asked him right away if he dropped it or if his pockets were tight. He responded no to both. I've never seen him drop it, in fact the phone is still flawless. Nevertheless, the ended up shipping out a new phone. AT&T has really good CS. I'll let you know when the phone gets here. Oh yea, almost forgot, his screen is turning yellow now too.

Yea after seeing the updated photo there's no doubt that was caused by pressure. Sat on old phone before by accident and the screen did the EXACT same thing.
I wouldn't say this is a screen issue, just a damaged phone by accident :*(
Hopefully cs doesnt consider that physical damage and charge full retail price after they get it..

Possibly a dead blaze.... RIP (maybe)

Sad, sad day, folks
So no schiss, there I was, giving the kids a bath, when all of a sudden my blaze jumps out of my pocket and into the tub. As quickly as I could get over the shock of what happened, I removed the battery and threw the blaze in a bowl of rice, but I fear this may be the end of Betty and as much as I hate to say it, if it is dead, it's time for a Nexus. In a couple months, when I can afford a phone. We'll find out tomorrow whether Betty breathes. I have high hopes, as when I took the battery out, it wasn't wet underneath

My previous BlackBerry took a dive into our pool while I was emptying the skimmer and it took me a few moments before I could jump in after it. I unscrewed everything and took it apart, cleaned everything with distilled water, and placed the components into a bowl of white rice on on top of our cable box for a week. It still works today, although I only keep it around as a backup.
If you give you Blaze many days in a bowl of rice, and place the bowl on top of something that is perpetually warm, like a cable/dtv box or other heat-producing hardware (and give it a week. Seriously, give it 7 days to allow any remaining water to work its way out from underneath ball-grid arrays and the LCD) I'm sure it will come out the other end working fine.
