Where can I find Nexus S i9020A AT&T compat. version?

I want to buy a nexus S that will work in Europe. I am in the US so I want to buy it here. I am pretty sure I need the i9020a which is compatible with AT&T 3g. I simply cannot find any at a reasonable price. I found many tmobile versions that are good. For example, amazon has one listed for about $400.(i am a knew user so can't post links but its easy to find).
That has the i9020t code which means tmobile. However the people who ordered claimed they got random versions. So it seems that it is all a mess. Other sites will claim tmobile version but then have the AT&T bands listed which also makes no sense.
Also, I want to get the version with super amoled. I think the i9023 is lcd.
So please, if you know of somewhere where I can get a nexus s that works on AT&T 3g and has superamoled, please let me know. I would love to pay $400 but anything below $450 is of interest.

the i9020a just got announced for AT&T, this Sunday is the release date.
Give it a little time after that, and you should be able to get good pricing in the US.

[OFFTOPIC] The Nexus Line Is Dead in the US?

@Mods, this is a thread about the Nexus line in general, even if I am referencing the Galaxy Nexus. Please don't move.
Not sure if anyone else is following the official unveiling of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, but it is a Verizon-branded, Verizon-bloatware phone (2 Verizon apps. Whether it's "bloatware" or not, that's semantics; they shouldn't be there).
The question at hand is whether updates are still pushed from Google, and not through Verizon. The fact that it's a carrier subsidized and carrier-branded phone with two carrier-related apps makes it possible that it updates may have to go through Verizon first. This would defeat the purpose of what the Nexus line is supposed to be, if true.
Yet the bigger question is: What does a Nexus phone represent now? Many are up in arms about it, and it's a question for all Nexus fans/users.
My understanding is that the Sprint Nexus S 4G also includes Sprint apps. What is happening with the Nexus line? Is Google changing what it represents and means?

I can't speak for all and I have the nexus s 4g SPRINT and well I was only stock for like 15 mins but we don't have ANY sprint bloat

I could be mistaken. Thanks for clarifying. That's good.

The NS4G includes some special sprint apks with functionality to allow flashing the PRL and profile. I don't see why it's out of the question to have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus support similar stuff.
ICS has functionality to disable built-in applications on /system if you don't want them anyway.
The Nexus line receives it's updates from google servers, but they still have to go through all the regular carrier testing that phones receive. That's how it's always been. Do you think the carriers would really want an update to a phone to wreck havok on their network? It's not like these updates are trivial.

That said if you buy a dev phone you will format and flash anyway so who cares? Not me anyway.

I'm unprepared to speak on the state of the Nexus before I even hold the new one in my hand. As a T-Mobile customer, the launch has been disappointing, but only as much so as it was for customers of every other carrier when the Nexus S launched.

I wouldn't say the nexus line is dead more than its not in the spot light

That's NOT how it works. Maybe for certain carriers. I know for a fact that T-Mobile does not recognize the Nexus S as a phone they support/sell. When i was grabbing one back last December, they made it clear to me over the phone that they offer ZERO support for the phone or any of its problems (reboot 5 times a day, anyone?) All "support" comes from the phone's radios ability to communicate on T-Mo towers, and Google's OTA updates, which I think we can agree were shoddy at best. T-Mo doesn't want to have anything to do with the NS updates.
Sprint, on the other hand, has some updates they perform on their end. It's all carrier-dependent. The idea of the perfect Nexus line staying completely pure went to hell when the NS4G was released, and when Google decided to screw over GSM Nexus S users with the Google Wallet thing. Don't think for a second that there wasn't money changing hands over that 4g exlusive release.
I think, in this case, Verizon's just being dicks as usual and strong-arming everyone. Google could have told them to stick it where the sun dont shine, but would have missed out on the biggest portion of the market in the US.

The Galaxy nexus is launching in Canada on Bell. So there will be a Galaxy nexus with AT&T compatible frequencies.

So far I have no reason to be concerned about it. First of all, the merger may well not go through. Second, if it does go through, there's no way it will before the middle of next year. Third, even if there are no further technical, business, or legal issues from that point on it's highly unlikely they'll start disassembling the T-Mobile network for at least a few months after the deal closes. Fourth, it's part of the merger terms that T-Mobile customers will get new phones when the switch happens. Fifth, since the GSM Galaxy Nexus works on AT&T and T-Mobile bands, there's a good chance it will work on a combined network anyway.
So I wouldn't go so far as to mute your cautionary note- even with those caveats there are still important concerns- but I would perhaps turn it down a notch or two.

Yeah it probably will work on both carriers. Good point there. So that part of my argument I guess is moot.
I still stand by my opinion on the TRUE Nexus experience having disappeared when the NS4G came out.

The Galaxy Nexus is the first pentaband phone running Android. It will run on any GSM 3G network in the world.

Wait a sec though.....thats 3g. NOT 4g. What's the deal with HSPA+ compatibility bands? I guess I'm not QUITE ready to ditch the ATT/T-Mo issue yet.

It's pentaband hspa+ which by default means it will also be pentaband 3g

there are also confirming some GN are coming SIM LOCKED! by the carriers
bloatware + SIM locking is everything against the basic ideal behind Nexus
so, in a way, seems like Nexus is slowly fading away... it just seems to stand for new AOSP now, no more of its original self
even the hardware has been sucking since Nexus S
it's sinking into a mere reference phone for development

In the US, the average consumer prefers the carrier-subsidized model, they have shown this with their wallets.
Nexus One tried selling from just a website.
Nexus S tried selling in a big box retailer.
Galaxy Nexus is now carrier-subsidized, carrier-branded.
As I think irishrally already said, as long as fastboot oem unlock is enabled, just accept that as all we really want anway

Note 3 N9005, keep or not?!

Made a boo boo and purchased the N9005 variant and I'm a straight talk user. I'm sure you can put two and two together and realize I'm only getting 3G service. Now I'm debating to keep the phone or purchase the N900A variant? Either be patient and wait for a tutorial release where At&t's LTE bands are readable or go purchase the N900A?!

Can't remember whether I said in your last thread or not about it, but I'll post again lol. Do you need/want 4G/LTE? - if you can live with 3G then keep it, Plus a few people testify that the Snapdragon model is the better one AND there's more in terms of development and ROMs.

Yes actually I do need the 4G for the use I put into the N9005. Where I'm located. There is no data sent over 3G network. I went to send a text yesterday and I had to downsize it because of no data.

In that case, you kinda answered your own question. Probably better to sell up and get that old N900(A) badboy :good:
You may get lucky and find someone who wants an N9005 and has an N900A, nothing is impossible these days.

Selling it wouldn't be an issue. I'm just looking for an answer "If anyone is actually looking into tweeking the N9005 to read At&t's bands or not." Why I kind of posted this question if I should keep the phone or not. Hate to sell it, two weeks later. Someone found out how to add the two bands.

The bounty for changing the bands has been up a while, now the HW does support it, but there is a reason someone/people haven't changed them (yet) - plus there is a legal side to changing frequencies in countries etc

Which is why I'm thinking with the whole legal spectrum of it. The tweek hasn't been released. :crying:
Could possibly just keep it for a rainy day and have both variants.

Indeed you could, if you can afford to have both then do so, you can play around on the 9005 variant with ROMs etc or use as a media player or a backup phone.

Still have yet to break her in but noticed the N900 variant. Would that be classified as the unbranded version of the variants At&t and T-Mobile are running or?

Yes would be similar/same as unbranded
The difference is the A and V variants have a locked bootloader - whereas the 900/9005 don't iirc

Not to sound "stupid" but I am sounding stupid. Therefore that variant would read At&t 4G/LTE? Google isn't very friendly when trying to search this.

It should do yes, unless ATT have some stupid agreement with Samsung which I doubt.
Give ATT a ring, ask them if they support the N900 to be 100%

As title says, usually when you pre order a flagship phone from Samsung you get some kind of free item, but can't find anything. Got the Samsung buds free with the S10+. Can't find anything with the Note 10.

Are you sure you want to? I thought the exynos versions don't work in US carriers that's why they use snapdragons? If you do want one I'd imagine ebay or one of the Chinese sites like gearbest would be your best bet.

Verizon told me they will support it gsm but as to whether it will ever do CDMA, i don't know. I think i need to get the latin verson exynos note 10 for that.

Are you looking for the exynos so you have root capability?
Edit: just done a bit of digging and you may be OK with att and tmobile but verizon and sprint can only work on CDMA.

I'm not really sure to be honest. I'm sure the dev community will have it cracked already though. I don't bother these days as I know it can limit some features and android is as open as I need it to be. I'd prefer the snapdragon variant but I'd have to go through the hassle of importing it and sacrifice the warranty and on an £1100 device its just not worth it for me personally

I can understand that but I am sending mine back for the same reason, I forgot the SD855 is very unlikely to get root.

Nah. Nothing. The s10+ was an outlier since the last pre order bonus in the UK was the dex thing for the note 8.

A work colleague got free buds with the s10e. I think it sucks how Samsung treats UK customers compared to elsewhere. I've been an avid note customer since day one and in all that time received a couple of free charging pucks and a GearVR (from Carphonewarehouse).

Anyone know anything about the T-Mobile / Sprint variant of the Tab S6 Android 10?!

Been trying to find something about this variant with no luck just got the April security update but no Android 10..

I have the T-Mobile variant (SM-T867U). I called T-Mobile and they could tell be nothing. I also read somewhere that the Verizon variant had the update rolling out maybe 2 weeks ago. It seems like the delay is with T-Mobile at this point. I also asked about being able to beta test and was told there's no option for customers to beta test with T-Mobile. Looks like we just have to wait and watch our toe nails grow.

Tmobile is always last to get any sort of update. We're usually last for updates on my S20U

Yeah mine is the Sprint Variant and still nothing.. in the past with my other devices I usually always received updates before Verizon and others... Not this time around

Sometimes T-Mobile seems on top of it and at other times it's ridiculously delayed. In the case of the Galaxy Tab devices, it's clear that Samsung barely keeps support going for each variant and T-Mobile has almost no focus on supporting them. That has been consistent for at least 2 years now and it has caused me to completely switch over to an iPad Pro.

When it comes to the major 4 carriers in the US, the Tmobile variant is always last to get every firmware update. Verizon is usually first, and Tmobile is mostly always last

Hi i got the tab s6 from tmobile and i have doubts if is a good idea to flash it firmware to international or other variant of it?

Damn, I really wished I researched this before latching on to TMobile for S6. Didn't realize a lack of root for this tablet was in at as well. Oh well. Hopefully a solution will happen soon enough

Downloaded the UK and German version and attempted to install with ODIN, patched and unpatched. Got a Fail each time.

This was a lie from support. They didn’t do anything whatsoever without giving you some sort of issue tracking number. They say all sorts of BS to appease customers

I can't even root the thing because there's no OEM unlock in the developer settings

Return it! Seriously. It is definitely not worth the price because even Samsung barely maintains tablet support. All of their focus is on a new tablet to compete with iPad Pro anyway.

Regret getting mine bow from Tmobile. I'm just going to pay it off and sell it for the new iPad

It's not about "crying" so to speak.
It's about paying $700+ for a machine that should be kept up to date with the latest software
