Hey guys.
I just installed the German OTA 4.4.2, on my Retail.GB Moto G, but now i have no recovey.
All i get is the Android guy on it's back with "No Command" written under him.
I've tried to install CWM 6.0.4.5 AND TWRP 2.6.3.0 with no luck...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I guess download stock ROM and flash stock recovery via fastboot. If it fails then reflash entire stock image, ie ROM, recovery etc.
Twrp cwm still flaky on kitkat I think.
Should have waited for GB update

While on that "no command" screen, hold volume up and power for 2 seconds and release and you should see recovery menu. Some report to use triple hold - volume up + down + power.

On the weekend I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP 2.4.1.0 using Hasoon Tool Kit. Problem is that TWRP is running and will not go away. Cannot shut phone off, Cannot get original ROM up and running (was it dumped when TWRP was flashed?), when I try the power button and volume down to go to FASTBOOT all I get is three blinking icons at bottom (back, home and all screens).
To topi it all off because I used CWM recovery for my Nexus One and it has ROMS available I did not think of downloading one so that TWRP could flash it.
Can anyone give me some direction to go to get this back up?
I have been on a few forums, those I have used before with success getting answers, but so far no one has offered suggestions. And yes, I am a newb but need to start somewhere..
ANY help is very much appreciated.
Hold down power only until buttons flash at least ten times. Press and hold vol-down. Release power, still holding vol-down. You should reboot into bootloader. From there, use buttons to get into recovery.
You're going to want to downgrade twrp to 2.3.x as later versions have some issues.

This seems to also work with QHSUSB_DLOAD semi bricks from flashing bad kernels.
Thanks.
Now for the next step.

Thanks, that got me in to recovery. Is TWRP the recovery of choice or will CWM recovery work as well?
I appreciate you getting back with the correct way to get into recovery.

I have never used cwm so I can't say how it works now. The most recent version is official and should work. But twrp is the most popular one on this phone.

CWM vs TWRP
Thanks for the reply.
I will move forward with the TWRP recovery.

Flash the stock recovery image first..... reboot back in bootloader and try to flash cwm then.
Use the classic cwm, not sone touch ones.

I just upgraded my XT925 from 4.1.2 (JBBL) to 4.4.2 (KKBL) via OTA. Bootloader was already unlocked. I then flashed in philz-touch 6.58.7 recovery. Flashing completed without error. However, when I booted the phone into recovery mode via pressing buttons or adb command, I always got "No command" and a dead green android with exclamation mark.
How can I get back into recovery (stock or phil-touch) ? Do I need to root the phone first before flashing recovery ?
Thanks.

Found the answer from another thread. All I had do was that:
1) unplug USB cable right after recovery was flashed
2) tap the power button
3) immediately hold down power and up-vol buttons to boot
4) select recovery (down-vol) and the up-vol to boot into phil-touch recovery.
Hi all
I have a XT1032 that I purchased from the Orange online store last year. I decided to give the official Lollipop update a go but I'm really not liking it. I want to revert back to either the stock 4.4.4 ROM or possibly a custom 4.4.4 ROM.
So far I've unlocked the bootloader on my device with no issues but I'm having some trouble flashing a custom recovery.
I've tried flashing the latest TWRP for MotoG (http://teamw.in/devices/motorolamotog2013.html) using fastboot but when I try to boot into the recovery the device just switches off. I also tried with the older TWRP 2.6.3.0 release for MotoG and have the same issue, as does CWT 6.0.47
Has anyone run into this issue before? Does anyone have any advice on how to solve the problem?
Try 2.8.1.0 TWRP when you in bootloader menu you must vol- to recovery and vol+ to enter recovery not power button

Thanks! I feel like a complete nub, I didn't read the bootloader screen properly or I'd have realized what I was doing wrong, I'm so used to every other device I've used (HTC, Samsung, SE) using power to select bootloader menu items

Can you post photo of that error ?
You probably did the same mistake as me, you might have entered the following code: "fastboot boot twrp-osprey-2.8.7-test1.img" which does not install TWRP, only boots yourself into it.
Use the following command to install it: "fastboot flash recovery twrp-osprey-2.8.7-test1.img" and it will replace your stock recovery.
Had the same issue. What I had to do is right after flashing twrp, go directly to recovery (don't reboot phone or go to OS)Weird but that's what I had to do and it goes twrp every time. And yes, I did 'fastboot flash recovery'
