Cognition v3.04 + Speedmod latest version + JL3 modem
Simply put: amazing. Several things are worthy of note. First, scrolling and general responsiveness of the speedmod kernel with 500hz is buttery smooth. It also has several tweaks you can enable to maximize battery life. But, the greatest difference came with the JL3 modem. Everything was instantly snappier. GPS locked in 4 seconds flat (I kid you not), and soon had 12 locked satellites. I had never before seen a lock with 5m accuracy, and it held it like a champ. Second, DL/UL speeds went through the roof. Normally I'd see 1.5Mb D and .3 Mb up. Now I see 3.5 Mbit down and 1.4 Mbit down. Couldn't be happier. But it gets better. The battery voltage before showed 3950 millivolts. Now it's down to 3750 mV.
Better GPS, speed, internet and battery life? Awesome.
Have you tried to make a phone call? I had the same setup and thought I was on cloud 9...
Until I called my wife... She said, "it sounded like gremlins were trying eat me". So after a process of Modem flashing I've come to find that FOR ME is Cogs 3.04/Speedmod/UGHJK4 seems to be working good all around, except for my battery life isn't the greatest. Gonna give it a couple days to see if it pans out

I use Darkys rom but find that for my area JK4 has been the best so far as well. With JL3 it switches to the 1900 band frequently and in my house that gets worse reception so my battery drains fairly quickly.
As for the OP I know how you feel. Ever since I flashed an earlier version of Darky's I haven't looked back. It's been the best rom I've tried out of all of them. Despite being a complete flashing addict I've hung up the cable for the time being as I'm more than satisfied with my current set up.

Totally off topic, but that has to be THE BEST quote I have seen on this forum!
Back on topic, best combo and my current configuration is Perception 8 with Setiron's kernel. Just flashing the rom and the kernel gives me all working features that I need, plus speed and stability. And after I go through and take out all the apps that I don't use and incorporate all my necessary apps, I get around 54 hours of battery life before I need to throw it on the charger. That's with my normal everyday use consisting of mass amounts of texting, a few phone calls, browsing the web, and having 3 widgets running. All my syncing is set for 1 hour intervals, except for weather which is set for every half hour.
Not saying it will work the same for you, but it hasn't let me down at all, and it's been my daily driver for about 2 months.

Another Vote here for Darky's 9.02 with SpeedMod "Q" Kernel. I presently have the JT3 Modem and haven't had any complaints except I was at a friend's house yesterday and had a problem holding a Signal there,I might try a different Modem.
Firefly 2.0.5 w/ eSPyel oc/uv kernel based on Hardcore's q kernel with jk4 modem.... i have it oc'd at 1400... results may vary on diffrent phones... but this thing is blazing fast been hitting low 19's on linpack scores and battery is good....
OK, so I know there has been a lot of b*tching about the Tbolt battery life, especially if you are running Gingerbread and a Sense 2.1 or 3.0 ROM (I am running BAMF 3.0 R4.9). I just may have solved this issue when you can connect to a WiFi access point!
Using a program called Tasker, I have created specific profiles that actually help save my battery as well as do a lot of other things to make life easier. The learning curve is somewhat steep for non-Tech geeks, but it's not too difficult after you get the hang of it. (I think the only version of Tasker in the market is pay for use, but you can get a free trial from the Dev's website directly.)
On to how I can get a 22+ hour standard TBolt battery:
1st new profile:
-Called "WiFi"
-Context = WiFi Connected (Any SSID)
-Task = NET>WiFi Sleep>Never
2nd new profile:
-Called "Dim Screen"
-Context = Power Source Any, click "Invert" button (so when the phone is not charging).
-Task = Display>Display Brightness>Set to "20" and check "Immediate Effect" (you can certainly change it to something higher, but you may not get nearly the same battery life).
On WiFi, I can get almost 23 hours of battery. On 4G, I can get upwards of 8 hours, 3G I have yet to test.
Since LTE was just turned on near where I live, I noticed that my TBolt was making WiFi sleep while it sat in my pocket not in use, therefor switching to 4G/LTE and draining the battery. The brightness obviously helps when I am not plugged in no matter if I am 3G/4G/WiFi.
I have some other useful profiles setup. Like I have the phone screen go to Auto Brightness and into the Sense Dock Mode when the phone is charging. My favorite is the Car Dock Profile... when the phone goes into my Car Dock, the Bluetooth turns on, GPS goes on, and Google Music Starts.
I am a big fan of Tasker now... there are a lot of possibilities with the program!

I'm gonna say you might want to try a MUCH more modern ROM. I'm having very little trouble eeking 18 hours out of mine under moderate use, and well over a day if I'm not messing with it much. It will typically consume around 1.7% per hour unused, LTE on.

how do you get the GPS to enable? I've tried to set up my GPS to come when I open maps, navigation or anything that needs gps enable but I get "sorry that action is unavailable on this device."
Llama also does what Tasker does. And its free. I find that Llama works better too. I can get near 24 hours with everything stock.

Modern? The ROM I have is running Gingerbread and is full Sense 3.0 (which appears to be a big battery hog). When I was on a GB Sense 2.1 ROM from the same Dev, I was getting better battery. The only thing that may improve the battery any more on GB/Sense 3.0 would be a new and improved Kernel, though I think I am on one of the more stable ones.

You are right, my bad... it throws up a disclaimer that GPS enabling is not available on any 2.3 ROM because of the Pop-up. They suggest using Cyanogen (sp) if you want to use the feature on a 2.3 ROM.

Potato, Patahto. I like Tasker and found it really granular once I started playing with it. I don't mind paying for an app that is well Developed and supported. (If you like Llama that much, you should use the donate version to "thank" the Dev team!) The 23hrs is an estimated capacity right now as Battery Left is still calibrating.

I think he is refering to roms based off the 2.11 leak. battery life in that Ruu is much better than any other previous ruu. Any roms based off it will give you more life by default. The bamf 4.9 Rom is kinda old when your talking about custom roms and it isn't based on the 2.11 ruu.

You say BAMF 3.0 R4.9 is your ROM. This ROM is old, based upon the 2.01 GB leak (which is about 4 leaks ago), which was terribly flawed in many ways, and isn't even being developed by BAMF anymore. The newer kernels won't even work right on that ROM because aspects of the WiFi and camera have been changed in later leaks.
You're application of Tasker is probably one of the ONLY rational uses of such an app. Using it for such things as turning GPS on and off is pointless, and redundant, because Android already does that as long as you have GPS enabled. Having it enabled doesn't use any power unless you're using apps that abuse it, such as some of the traffic update apps that constantly update your position.
Power management apps aren't quite as useless as task killer apps, but for the purposes I see people use them for, they're not doing you many favors. I'm generally not a fan of these apps and I strongly recommend against task killers because the result of their use simply increases the amount of NAND reads the CPU must make, which is the most power intensive operation that CPU performs.
Newer ROMs, such as the RUU 2.10 and 2.11 based ROMs, are significantly better on battery life than the older ones, especially when used with the radios from the 1.70 OTA, 2.07 RUU, 2.10 RUU, and 2.11 RUU. I'd make the jump to a more modern ROM before I tried manipulating an older one to perform. Or, move up to a newer one and do the same thing and see what you get. In any event, there's good room for improvement.
I tried several ways to conserve battery and finally decided that it just isn't worth it to me to have to stop running game apps, to have to set the phone up a specific way, to carefully monitor what each app does etcetera. I went out Tuesday and bought a extended battery from a Verizon store. With discount I paid $25.00 for the battery and cover. I am now getting right around twenty five hours total battery life off one charge and I have watched videos, played games, played music, and did whatever else I could think of to kill that battery. I am ecstatic with it. Now when I am out overnight mountain climbing with the missus granted I will undoubtedly kill some apps. Wouldn't do to run into BigFoot, Smokey the Bear, and Jason Vorhies with a dead battery and no chocolate bars ( since she for some reason feels I should diet) now would it?
ps. I made sure it had antennaes on the cover. It has more than my original cover does. And the clerk had no clue why i was even asking about the antenaes on the cover

Yea tell me about it. At the Verizon kiosk in Costco I actually argued with the guy because he was spouting off about the Specs on AT&T phones being better than what were on the Thunderbolt. Saying how much better AT&T was and all this stuff. I listened for only a few minutes before I realized he was an imbecile. Considering I do use a bunch of Apps that can use GPS (Foursquare, Weather, and my Car Dock=Car Home) and I don't always need GPS on to do what I do in them, I choose to have GPS inactive as to not chew up more battery than is necessary.

I have never and will never use a task killer. Tasker is basically a way to create a 'macro' or series of them to help do things without having to click 18 different things on your phone. Apples to oranges.

Really...newer kernels don't work with BAMF 3.0 RC4.9??? That's funny because I'm running Ziggy's latest on BAMF 3.0 RC4.9 with working WiFi and camera, front and back.
Out of all the 3.0, 2.1/3.0 ROM's this is the only one that I have never missed a call because I could not answer the phone because of the end only call bug.
It might be an older ROM but it's still one of the best for this phone.
UberBAMF, Adrynalyne's side-project BAMF, both of the Gingeritis ROMs, Th3ory's ROMs, Synergy... Where the Ziggy kernel came from. Maybe I'm wrong and 4.9 uses the 2.07 base. I've used nothing but 2.07 and newer Chingy ROMs for the last 2 months as daily drivers and I've never once seen this "end call only" bug.
Ziggy's kernels aren't freely available so I don't consider it an available custom kernel.

Anyone that downloads Gingeritis, or Synergy has full access to Ziggy's kernels. I would call that freely available. Either which way they still work on BAMF 3.0 RC4.9.
As for the ROM's you listed not one of them are a full Sense 3.0 ROM like RC4.9.
If you have never had the end only call bug consider yourself lucky because there are theads on both themikmik and team BAMF about this bug.

End-call only bug is real. In 2 months of running bamf (currently on uber 3), I've encountered it once. Others have been plagued with it. Basically, when someone calls, it only displays the large "end call" button.

I hardly call Ziggy's kernel freely available by any stretch of the imagination. That's like saying iOS is free to anyone to use. Not really if you ONLY get it with this product or that! Ziggy also flouts the GPL like it's no big deal, so obtaining his source is nigh impossible. He's got one of the least available kernels that exists.
Sense 3.0 is eye candy. Like live wallpaper, its cool for a day, that's about it. And Rosie launcher is weak. I mean, if that's your thing, cool. It's your phone. But AOSP roms are far beyond BAMF, and far more stable. Shift B2 is the best rom I've run on my Bolt, hands down. With G+ loaded I get between 18-22 hours moderate use. Without G+ I can get a little over 28 hours. This is all 3G, as our towers havent been upgraded yet here in BFE. I understand the desire for battery life on stock battery. I pocket mine for 8 hours a day, so extended battery is unappealing. I underclock to 768 and my phone is still more responsive than it was with sense at 1.4.
Hi ,
currently I'm running CodenameAndroid 3.3.0 on my Nexus S and everything runs smooth and works perfectly well for me, no doubts. But somehow I constantly get the feeling that the newer our operating system gets our batteries drain faster. Either this or my battery just gets old. However I'm searching for a Rom that has battery saving in main purpose. I dont care about playing games, the operating system or showing off how great my phone is. For this I have my Tablet The best solution for me would be a rom which is very low in batterydrain but as smooth as jellybean (maybe just port the transitions over). I know it might be hard to find something like this but is there any rom which matches my perception? Also a nice look would be cool, too ^^
I'm waiting for your responses!
I think you're looking for SlimBean. I'm on CNA too, the batter life is pretty bad
I tried SlimBean because I used SlimICS before but I miss too many features to change it back. Isn't there something else? Or which OS has the best batterylife in general?
i think gingerbread still has the best battery life.
androxide got me over 4hrs of screen time and a days usage with matrix
the new miui jb is also almost the same
IMO.....ICS's best battery life is on Kangy Ultra Ex 1.3 by DaXmax.
Just as long as u don't use Google talk since that's the ROMs only hiccup.
Then again like most will say.... its all depending on the user so hopefully it will help if u try.
I'm currently using the same developers JB ROM called paranoid Android..... so far it great but again I don't use all the newest features to much yet. I'm working myself slowing into the stuff.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2
There is no ROM with super battery life, some better and some worst, very similar.
Most u can get from nexus s is +4hrs screen on.
And i don't care about those pathetic screen shots with +7hrs of screen on.
Fire up 3g/H stock browser, maps, music etc and we'll find out how good ur battery life is.
MIUI get's me aprox 4 hours and 50 minutes of on screen time. Lots of game playing, instant messaging, syncing, music, and social media (Instagram, twitter, tumblr.) And about 9 hours + when it get's to about 14%
EDIT: This is when using WIFI, not my 3G.

This question will produce every combo under the sun...but in the end no Real answer. Every phone/battery is different and how the person uses their phone. Apps installed, how much you use said apps, are the ram hogs, 2g, 3g, I could go on forever...just like this thread will if not eventually ignored or closed.
Closed, there is no answer to this question, the majority of battery drain will be the screen (depending on brightness) and whatever app you have installed and use.
Generally it's a matter of finding out what works for you.
Seems like every time I flash an AOSP-based ROM, the signal (at least the signal icon) is showing lower than a TW-based ROM. Curious what modem version people like best and if they notice a difference between AOSP and TW ROMs in terms of reception.
So far I've tried the LK3 and MA2 modems. Both seem about the same, in terms of reception.

There is a slight signal degradation between TW and AOSP based ROMS. It has been mentioned in various places throughout these, and other forums, but as a quick recap:
AOSP & All other non-tw ROMS are forced to use RIL "workarounds" because Samsung owns the rights to that bit of code (more specifically, Qualcomm owns them). Due to this, data on non-tw ROMS has to take an extra step before it gets to you. Some people never notice any difference, others very little - however there are some people (myself included) that notice quite a big difference.
If you're like me, and the thought of going back to TW makes you shudder, you can try some of the other radios/modems and see if you have more luck. So far, the best radio for me (in the Phoenix area) has been VRBLK1 .... I had almost no signal using the OTA or the newest leaked radios.
Good luck!

You're also like those others are unaware that your location and how well your phone handles cell reception plays a MAJOR role in the signal strength. This phone isn't the best in the signal strength department and improvements are based on your location. My previous phone had 4-5 bars in my apartment in New York compared to 3-4 on the S 3.

Good luck!

Great info! Thanks for doing that. I'll give VRBLK1 a run.
Anyone have a download link for VRBLK1? Its not on http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-modems-vrbma2-verizon-sgs3-sch-i535-recovery-flashable/
Unless I'm missing something... Haha

Not sure if this will help you out
vickyz.com/vrblk1-update-verizon-galaxy-s3-4-1-1-install-jelly-bean-leaked-firmware/
As always I would back everything up on your phone using Rom Manager or whatever you like, let me know if this helps you or not.
Thanks
Although is says "I535VRLK1"
that is the one you want, I just flashed it and Baseband now says: I535VRBLK1
Just did a little test with the latest 3 modems while using Carbon Rom 1.4 and the 2/5 Anthrax CM Kernel. Results are below. Which is better?
LK1:
On Desk: -111 dbm, 29 asu
Handheld: -109 dbm, 31 asu
LK3:
On Desk: -110 dbm, 30 asu
Handheld: -106 dbm, 34 asu
MA2:
On Desk: -112 dbm, 28 asu
Handheld: -106 dbm, 34 asu
I have heard about more frequent data drops with the MA2 leak, so that concerns me a bit. Tried downloading a TW rom the other day and it kept dropping.

Well, I'm certainly no expert in the field of radio/data signals, but FWIW here is a bit of information that I've gathered over the last couple years while obsessing over my data speeds! Hope it's not too jumbled, It is 3:30am after all!
The simple answer to the question regarding dBm "signal" numbers is this: The closer you are to a dBm of 0, the better your signal will be. For example; A dBm of -50 is BETTER/STRONGER than a dBm of -100. Unless something has gone horribly wrong, you will never see a dBm reading in the positive/above zero range - and if somehow you did, chances are it's the last thing you'd ever read on your phone before it melts/bursts into flames. (aka = impossible scenario). The "asu" reading isn't an important reading for our purposes, so I am going to ignore it.
Anything from -1 to -50 would be considered a great signal to most, from 51-80 would be considered solid, and 81-100+ would be considered poor.
However there are a few things to keep in mind:
1) The most common indicator of radio/signal issues aren't necessarily high dBm values. In a strong LTE market you shouldn't notice too many issues as long as your signal remains consistent. If you are seeing frequent, high-scale jumps in your dBm reading (IE: -51 to -100 to -41 to -78 over the span of 15 seconds) you should be concerned, as this is what will cause you to drop calls and data.
2) The difference between a dBm of -50 and -55 is not just "-5" .... I do not remember (or ever knew?) the math behind the scale, but I do know it's exponential.
3) As I am sure you have figured out, the "signal bars" on our/most devices is full of crap and shouldn't be trusted. I've had blazing download speeds on 1 bar, and I've had trouble loading simple webpages with 5 bars. I used to rely on the signal readings found in the system settings (about phone) but am now very skeptical that they are accurate. I have downloaded apps to see if I can get live readings, and have had the most luck with "Network Signal Pro". It's possible this app is inaccurate as well, but my increases and decreases in dBm (as shown in the app) have coincided with my DL/UL speeds.
For example: My current "bar" level is a 2 out of 5, my dBm (in about phone) is 104, and my dBm per the Network Signal App is 71.
The most important factor to consider is the ridiculous number of variables that can/will/do affect our signal strengths. It has been interesting (almost fun) to log my signal and speeds throughout the Phoenix metro area - and I have definitely noticed BIG differences when it comes to radios! My averages over a one week period (logged by the app I mentioned) were as follows:
VRBMA2: dBm 102 - frequent jumps in dBm and frequent, rage-inducing disconnects (several per hour)
VRBLK3 dBm 91 - less frequent jumps in dBm, almost no data drops
VRBLK1 dBm 71 - most consistent connection, fastest speeds, zero drops so far.
VRALHE dBm 84 - no data drops, but speeds seemed slower.
I hope some of this information helps you out - It was a longer reply than I had intended, but I've been going crazy over this stuff myself so I figured if I could help one person understand his S3's signal quirks, it would all be justified! Good luck finding a radio that works best for you!
Also - If I am wrong on this, or somebody has a better explanation, don't hold back - I feel this is the best way to learn something! (just don't tell my fiance that....)

Wow man, great write-up! I'll give LK1 a try for a while and see how it goes. I agree that MA2 had rage-inducing disconnects in terms of using it to download large (a ROM) files.
Should be interesting to see what VZW gives us with the latest official release - MB1.

What is it about the RIL that makes it something we have to workaround? Is it that its just proprietary so we can't include the code without paying for a license? Or is it that we just don't have the code. If we don't have the code where is it located, wouldn't it be in the TW framework? If that's the case why can't we have a separate flashable zip that's installed afterwards, much like dvd support in Linux? Sorry if these questions have already been answered somewhere else, but the search on my phone isn't very good. I'm just trying to get an understanding why this is a problem.
Thank you

Hey guys,
I am currently on Synergy and I'm looking to go to an AOSP ROM. My phone was on 4.0.4 before it was rooted (this was a CLNR device and shipped with the old OS). VRLG7 is what I see under baseband.
My question is, would it be okay to flash a JB baseband on top of my ICS baseband without doing the VZW OTA updates?
Thanks!

Hey there - sorry it has taken me so long to respond ... I got t-boned by an obscenely drunk woman leaving a Phoenix Coyotes game the other night and have been too busy yelling at various insurance representatives to check XDA
If you're anything like me (impatient as hell) I would imagine you've already found the answer you were looking for, but I'll answer it too:
Yes. I would flash the JB baseband and RPM of your choice and then flash into the ROM of your choice. I'm not sure if the order is important, but I wouldn't recommend booting into a 4.1 - 4.2 AOSP with the old ICS baseband. Come to think of it, I was flashing all sorts of JellyBeans before we ever got the official JB OTA.
Hope you had that figured out before I got to you!

You hit the nail on the head. From what I've read (been following development on the SGS3 for some time) the RIL code is proprietary to Samsung, but it's trickier than that... I've also heard that Samsung wouldn't mind licensing it out but can't/won't because it was licensed to them by Qualcomm and is considered to be one of their (Qualcomm's) most prized/profitable developments. So, as long as Samsung is using Qualcomm chipsets, I wouldn't expect this to change.
With that being said, CM has come a really, really long way towards making this a moot point. The first CM 10 releases were almost unusable because of the data issues (in my case they were unusable) - now, while I do still notice a slight difference between TW and CM, It isn't enough to consider CM a non-daily driver candidate.
Hope this answered your question!

How are your results so far? I'm rocking the new OTA radio/rpm for the moment - so far so good, but then again ... I"m also running a TW ROM for the first time in a while so we'll see if that changes when I get back over to AOSP!
gonna bump an old one
What of the new bmf1 radio? Good? Bad? Aosp worthy or not? I am a long time lurker. This is my first root and custom ROM experience. I Love Aosp. Personally if I could have the stability I would run PA... but alas a run beanstown as it is TW with Aosp flavor.

MF1 is the recommended firmware for the 4.3 cm10.2 builds, so i would say that's the best one. I'm all for using the latest, unless otherwise told.
So does it provide better service on AOSP? Have you noticed a difference? I uped to beans 18 an aside from some subtle changes I dont see much. If anyone noticed a difference between them on Aosp shout out.

Hi guys, I am writing a review about Slim ROM which can be found in this forum. The reason behind that is to help people like me who want the best out of their phone.
Generally speaking its difficult to define what a "good" ROM is so I will speak from my personal experience and according to my needs.
First of all I need to clarify that I am not advertising the ROM, the developer behind this ROM is totally unknown to me, but I felt the need to write all these, first of all to pay tribute to the excellent work he has done and secondly to help out people like me who experiment all the time to make the best of out of their phones, like I mentioned it earlier.
I have tested all the ROMS that can be found in this thread except, Meizu.
The most important thing to notice is that some ROMS are not working well in regions like mine where the networks for their cellphones are GSM for 2g, WDCMA for 3g and LTE for 4g.
All the Team Superluminal ROMS have for default the CDMA option and it is a pain in the ass to change that and even when you do that, after a restart all settings revert to default(CDMA)
So if you want to have Radios in the correct settings and plethora of options to play with I strongly suggest Slim ROM. (Nexus fly and Resurrection are also working just fine)
Another thing is the stability of the wifi. Slim ROM is the most stable ROM on that department, according to my personal experience.
I am currently on the 1.7 version and there is no bug that I noticed. Everything works smoothly, phone doesnt heat up(not a crazy gamer though) and everything works the time you need it without hickups, reboots and freezes.
GPS is locking right away and the battery (and I cant stress it enough) is at it BEST BY FAR. I am talking about 8 hours of SOT with wifi on and 2g signal or about 5 hours with mixed use.(GPS around half an hour, 4g for 3 hours, calling and vibering a lot)
The only downside for my taste is the absence of profile manager. But I found an amazing app called PhoneProfilesPlus on the app store which has a widget on your home screen showing your current profile. Once you tap on it it shows the profiles you have created and just by tapping on the desired one it changes to that profile. I mean about everything(GPS toggle on/off, Data toggle, Data preference(2g,3g,4g whatever), autorotation of screen, brightness, volumes, vibration). It does it all
To finish up I am not saying other ROMS are bad or anything, but for me, with the need my phone to be always there to use, a work tool actually, Slim ROM is by far the best thing that happened to me and my phone.
I hope I help other people who want stability, full function and bugless experience with this post.
Salute to all devs, for their amazing work and for bringing new life to our phones.
And a big thanks to @csolanol for his amazing work.
Thanks for your sharing.
I live in a place where they use "GSM for 2g, WDCMA for 3g and LTE for 4g", exactly as you have mentioned. And Team Superluminal CM13 ROM works perfectly. CDMA is not used by default and any radio setting is kept after reboot.
The battery life I have on Slim6 is essentially the same as that of TS CM13 or sMiUI.

I have no issue with TS ROM about the Radio setting (latest build 1007), after restart the setting still persist. For any other, the TS ROM is more or less the same, but maybe the SOT is 1 hour shorter in TS ROM.
Rom is this?

You're so wrong about this. I am currently using mi-globe (former sMIUI) and it doesn't stand a chance between slim6 or ts cm13. I can barely get 4 and a half SoT with mi-globe, as MIUI framework consumes some juice after all. Slim is by far the best ROM for battery in my personal opinion. I am talking about non tweaked versions of this ROMs.
@nioonline could you briefly explain how is your Slim rom setup? Which tweaks do you use? Do you use apps like Greenify, Amplifier or Kernel Auditor for getting that 8 hr SoT? Because this sot time, I have never seen with using Slim v1.7. I am also using my phone daily for whatsapp, instagram and messenger mostly, and some browsing (Most of the time connected to Wifi) Then I get usually 4.5 hr SOT.

Me too. Using 1.7. The most i get is 5.5 hr sot. Mostly is around 4.5hr too. Curious how to get 8hrs sot.
Hey guys sorry for not responding but I was pretty busy.
Nowdays I experiment with Nougat roms, but from what I can recall I had all the consuming feautures off. Double tap to wake, adaptive brightness ets.
I also used raw for scheduler and glass fish version 1.2 for the governor. Kernel untouched(interactive by default)
8 hours of SOT happens but if you use your phone mostly with wifi on, data off and cell set to 2g. I wrote it already on my first post.Otherwise in mixed used I told you its around 6 hours.
For my the key for good sots are two things. Idle state and cell signal consumption.
For medium users like me this is the most important. And with this rom after 6 to 8 hours of sleep while the phone is at idle state it has almost no comsumption.
The other thing is not to make my phone work all the time. So when I am at places with wifi I turn data off and use only 2g. Believe me it makes HUGE difference compared to 3g or 4g.
There is no profile manager in there but use an app like the one I recommend. I mean use set it up once and then with only one tap you change radios, display, sound, vibration settings etc. (for example one of my profiles is car.Open Bluetooth, turn off wifi, open data, set data to 3g/4g, enable autorotate to use my navigation app, open gps, set brightness to 100%.All that with one button)Magic stuff for me.
I don't use messenger but I think its a battery killer app. Don't know what you can do in this situation.....
(Also don't let google and other accounts synchronize bull****s like google fit, people details and crap like that)
Hope I helped a little bit.
There is an article about nexus 5x and how to make battery last more. Since we use the same cpu(sd808) take a look at it. It can help you furthermore, if you are a gamer or a social app "maniac".
Thank you for review! It helped me to choose rom!
I have to confirm. Slim Rom ist the best Rom for me. All Roms i tried (miui, smiui, ts Cyanogen 13) were very smooth but slim has the best battery life by far.
