My mom has an xt926 and it had been acting up a little, so I decided to factory reset it for her, but when I went to recovery, I got the dead android, No problem, I figured I'd just SBF the latest VZW version (which she is on) to fix it, but the recovery is still dead. I've flashed the recovery by itself, SBF'd about 5 times and still no luck. Anyone know why I can't access the recovery?

I believe you need to hit the volume button in the middle to access it.
Mash the volume key a bit.
Simple enough. Literally just kept hitting the volume key until lit finally worked. I've been out of the stock recovery game for too long. Thanks.

Glad that was the problem! I don't remember exactly what you have to do, but mashing it has never done me wrong.

Hey all
Before anyone mentions that i should be searching around more, i would like to say that i've been on multiple threads and they all state the same thing (use NVflash to flash CWM and then boot into CWM but the solution did not work for me past flashing CWM and then trying to access recovery after) and i wasn't able to find one that had a similar problem as mine.
I have CWM flashed through NVflash and was running CM7.1 RC1. I took a screenshot with the 'shootme' app and proceeded to look at the gallery to make sure it came out okay. The gallery crashed and i was sent to the home screen. I swiped to a different homescreen when my phone froze halfway through the transition to the next screen. No combination of buttons/long presses were able to get me out of it so i went ahead and did a battery pull. So my dilemma is that now i'm stuck at the LG boot logo with no blue status bar under it. It freezes there and will not do anything every time i boot up. volume down+power does not give me access to recovery nor does any other button combo get me past the LG boot logo.
Are there any other methods i might be able to use like ADB or what not to get myself out of this situation? or at least into recovery? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i've been searching for hours with little help and my eyes are starting to get strained.
hmmm.. I know it's a simple question, but I gotta ask.. are you holding the pwr and volume down button long enough? you have to keep holding it even after you see the LG screen.. Keep holding until you see the 2nd screen?
If so.. do the nvflash again? Edit: Not sure if I would do this without getting further guidance tho..

This. I remember when I boot looped my phone I had the problem of letting go of the volume key too early, you need to hold down volume and power from a totally powered off phone until recovery actually starts and you see the green "android" logo of CWM.
Try re-flashing CWM, NVFlash CAN fail. There is literally nothing you can do within the OS that will prevent recovery from working. Either you did something wrong somewhere along the recovery process or you discovered an entirely new problem with the phone. I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's the former.
Thanks for the response guys. I wish that it was the case of not holding the buttons long enough. I have tried numerous times with the buttons held down for a long period of time. I even held the combo down for almost 5 minutes a few times.
Every time i try to boot up, it won't go past the LG boot screen so i would pull the battery out and go through flashing CWM through NVflash again. I'm sure I'm not missing anything because everything goes through and gets sent to the phone successfully.
I did happen to run into a thread that was closely similar to mine but his method was to just keep reflashing CWM and the stock recovery back and forth every time it failed until it turned on. I might have to try that if i cannot figure out this problem out soon. Not being able to use this phone is killing me! heh.
I just joined your club. Wow this sucks.
So apparently this is a whole new problem that's been found? Every other help thread seems to point to using NVflash or remaking the partitions due to a bad flash using an O2x based file instead of G2x.
But none of those solutions come close to doing anything. There has been some people with the same problem as me but aren't proactive at all enough to get someone's attention, so i'm guessing this problem is getting pushed to the side with people just going about getting their phones replaces/buying new ones.
I did happen to run into a thread on paulobrien/modaco's forum that had people using NVflash to get out of any sticky situation like this. It just reverts everything back to the stock factory settings but with root. We cannot use this though because he hasn't built it to be compatible with our LGP999's because everything was built for their UK LGP990's. Maybe that's a start to getting this solution fixed?
I hate to say this, bit you might have to call t mobile and get a replacement. Flash back to stock recovery and they won't know you messed with anything.

Don't send back....you'll get same defacement a battery pull go into nvflah and go back stock then flash nv flash fix pArtitions
As I have mentioned before, NVflash does NOT give me access to my recovery let alone solve anything else. NVflash DOES work and does sucessfully send both CWM and the stock recovery but when I try to boot into either of them, let alone just power on normally, it simply DOES NOT go past the LG boot screen. it just hangs there doing nothing at all until I pull the battery out and do the same process over until it just hangs again.
while it is on/stuck at the LG screen, my computer does not recognize it so i cannot even try and run ADB commands. It does however, recognize it when I plug it in using the volume buttons held down when I use NVflash but there's nothing else I can do besides use NVflash obviously.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? Because my phone is doing this...
I attempted to restore my phone back to the wrong backup that was from a galaxy sII (2.3.4 i think); needless to say, the restore failed. I then restarted my phone from CWM and it gets stuck at LG screen.
I have tried to NVflash back to stock; nothing. same thing reflashing back to CWM.
ideas?
have you tried this link out yet?

From what I heard is that you need to remove the battery, then boot into recovery or something.

Use smartflash for the p990 but only use the p999 ap.bin file which will put the rom and kernel back to stock p999.
Rom for recovery always fixes any soft brick back to stock 2.3.3 OTA. It's saved my phone multiple times from stuck on S/W screen to being stuck on lg logo or even the dreaded can't mount sdcard-cache errors in cwm.

I used the following method when Clockworkmod became corrupted and was unable to mount my sd card. I had just wiped everything on my phone intending to install a new rom when the issue happened. I could not even get to the S/W upgrade screen. It saved my phone. Hope it works for you.

Amazing how people are soo lost without providing them link after link to other threads. They are soo lazy and can't follow simple directions, each time i get a new phone i go to that section on xda and soak up all the information as it usually is already there. It's just funny is all i guess.

It's really not that big a deal. I was brand new to android once and asked all sorts of things.
I, like you, happen to read everything I can get my hands on. Some struggle going through all the info. I was here the day the forum opened, so I kind of remember where everything is.
Some are lazy and others just have no idea what the heck is going on and are intimidated by certain processes. I would rather help someone instead of listening to them ***** about their broken phone.
I finally got a hold of a G2X for T-Mobile and decided to root it. I installed Cyanogen Mod V7 and was happy with some of the tweaks but not fully satisfied. So I tried to revert back to the stock operating system. I had made a backup not a nandback up in ClockWorkMod from the stock firmware when I first rooted the phone, and I decided to go back and restore from that back up. Everything was going good up until the LG boot logo. Where it never ventured past the screen it just got stuck. I waited for 15 minutes with nothing happening .Now im stuck in an infinite loop!
I tried pressing the power + the volume- button but it still continues with the loop. Also the computer reads the USB but when I try to access the contents it says error. Im scared I bricked the phone . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I'm not the best at this stuff but I think you needed to put nvflash on before you did any of this.
I got the clockwork recovery working. So im happy now should I just go to the stock firmware or should I just tinker again with the cyanogen mod?
If you have clockwork recovery through nvflash you are safe. At this point flashing stocking or cm7 is really up to you.

Hey,
My Asus Tf300t has been working perfectly until I wanted to get into recovery mode (RCK) yesterday. It got stuck there and
I tried it another time and it didn't work. After that I let it go and just booted normally, but then it stayed at the "ASUS Inspiring inno.... etc." screen.
Now I can shut my device down by holding the power button, but I cant get it to cold boot or get into recovery options again, it just boots endlessly.
My device has been unlocked and working fine for months.
What can I do?
regards,
Pmobilee
make sure that you are hold the "volume down" button, and hope it puts you back to where you can boot into recovery. Does that tablet boot at all, or just a "bootloop"
Did you have a working recovery before this? Like have you booted your recovery before and know that it was working?

Yes, recovery booted before. But this all started when I tried to boot recovery again, and it got stuck. Then this infitite boot occurred.

and when you tried to boot recovery again what method did you use? did you use the "reboot recovery" option in your recovery or ROM power menu?or did you do it manually?(hold vol- and power then press vol+)?

Hi all. I'm in the exact same situation. Didn't want to make a new thread though.
I rooted my TF300T a few months ago (Oct 2013), and it has been running fine on CyanogenMod 10.2. So I ran the CyanogenMod Update app (Settings > About Tablet > CyanogenMod Updates), then downloaded the LATEST nightly (dated yesterday: Dec 14, so 10.2...141213). I don't know if this is a factor, but I usually pull down the notification bar and tap the "Reboot and Install" option, but I accidentally cleared my notifications, so I went back into CyanogenMod Updates, tapped the installed button for the latest nightly, and tablet started rebooting.
However I cannot get past the boot screen. So recovery is not loading. I used TWRP last time I did this. I Can't turn the tablet off either, at least not until I plugged the USB from my PC to the tablet then tried long pressing the Power button and holding Volume Down. Before plugging USB in it would simply restart and sit on the boot screen again.
I have to leave the house for now, but will attempt to get into Recovery later tonight with same methods as above. Fingers crossed!
EDIT: I remembered, it was 10.2, not 10.1 I was running. So I shouldn't have had any issues going from 10.2 to a newer 10.2.
I'm back home now. I've tried again to get into Recovery, but cannot. I've got the tablet plugged into the PC with the USB, I'm holding Power and Volume Down, but nothing. Instead it seemly turns off, but comes back on and stays on the same boot screen (Asus. Inspiring Innovation, etc...).
And I can't figure out how I was able to turn the damn thing off before either. So I have to leave it on until the power drains. So that sucks!
Is it bricked?
Let's do this together. I recently tried to upgrade to 4.4 from 4.3 and I accidently erased my tablet by manually booting into twrp 2.5 and selecting the 3rd option which is wipe data...so we are in the same boat.

Damn, that sucks! Yes, battery has now drained, and yes, let's work this out together. What ROM were you using? Android 4.4 is not out on CyanogenMod for the TF300T, and I will probably stick to CM. But if I have to use something else to get this fixed, I'll do it.
Was any fix found for this? I am now experiencing the same problem after trying to reboot into recovery to upgrade Cyanogen. Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, and after a lot of support and help from the good guys on the Transformer Forums, I've declared this unfixable. If you had a NVIDIA backup, you'd be fine, but without that you're pretty much screwed, sorry to say.
Can you get into bootloader? If so you can do this:

And it should resolve ANY bad flash/wrong flash issues.
Hey guys, I recently found my tf300t tucked away somewhere. Haven't used it for absolute months! And I remembered why, I kept having problems with CM somehow(I believe the last update was somewhere in June-July of 2013), so this time after charging it and wanting to do it all again, I figured I'd get it updated. Seeing as it's been nearly a year and so much crap has changed, I figured something was going to go wrong. Before I even DID ANYTHING, I told the tablet to reboot into recovery mode, and boom that's where I'm stuck. The Tablet rebooted and now only shows the Asus boot screen... Nothing else! Vol down+pwr didn't work, nothing. And If I hold the power button it shuts off but then turns right back on 1-2 seconds later. I'm not sure what this is, a soft brick? a Brick? just an error? Can anybody please help? I know this is probably the wrong section, but I'm just frustrated.
Thank you to anybody who can help in any shape or form.
PS: no bashing is needed, my tables already bashing my head for me.

So none of you can get to fastboot or recovery, but you do all get the stuck at Asus logo?? All your bootloaders are unlocked?? All of you got to this spot, the same way by not using the tablet for long periods of time???? What bootloader are you on?? What version of CM are you running??? What is the OS of your PC, If its not the top 3 please be specific......Are you using a stock asus data cable??
Sounds similar
From what your posts say, it sounds like something i came across. I struggled for hours trying to figure out this dilemma, but if you're in the same situation i was in then as long as you're in that screen even after trying to hold the power and -vol let it sit there, plug in and make sure you have all your files associated with fastboot platform installed and try pushing the new TWRP ( http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407569892 ) to your tablet, for some reason after a certain update after 4.1 i believe? CWM stopped working for me, so try pushing the new TWRP from that link there and possibly you should be able to gain control of your tablet again and start installing the new packets for CM 11. I found this to be very helpful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570965 and thanks to "cmendonc2", 6 post down, he really cleared things up with his simple links. Hope you're in the same boat as i was. Good luck
So I guess i followed an outdated tutorial! My phone ever since the ota update months ago destroyed my battery life felt sluggish and constant reboots. Today i followed a tutorial to install rom manager to install clockwork mod recovery so I can delete dalvik cache. On reboot i get "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone.”
So now after I realized that the bootloader is locked,
1) Is there a way I can get my phone to work again.
2) But MOST importantly, did I completely screw up and lost any of my pictures saved on the phone?
I'm posting here because everything I look up online is either outdated or I am afraid to break things more. So I would like someone to help me.
Thanks.
P.S. Im pretty sure I had the newest OTA which is 4.4 i think. And the phone was Rooted with towelroot. I can also boot into downloading mode.
Update: Ok so I pressed down + home + power to download mode but this time I pressed Down to cancel and the phone booted to my homescreen. I'm kind of scared to never ever restart my phone. Is my data safe? why booting this way work?
Thank you.

On the newest kk OTA you can't run a custom recovery other than safestrap. Unsure if your data is safe at this point since you've created a soft brick
