[Q] G2x stuck at LG logo/cannot access recovery - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hey all
Before anyone mentions that i should be searching around more, i would like to say that i've been on multiple threads and they all state the same thing (use NVflash to flash CWM and then boot into CWM but the solution did not work for me past flashing CWM and then trying to access recovery after) and i wasn't able to find one that had a similar problem as mine.
I have CWM flashed through NVflash and was running CM7.1 RC1. I took a screenshot with the 'shootme' app and proceeded to look at the gallery to make sure it came out okay. The gallery crashed and i was sent to the home screen. I swiped to a different homescreen when my phone froze halfway through the transition to the next screen. No combination of buttons/long presses were able to get me out of it so i went ahead and did a battery pull. So my dilemma is that now i'm stuck at the LG boot logo with no blue status bar under it. It freezes there and will not do anything every time i boot up. volume down+power does not give me access to recovery nor does any other button combo get me past the LG boot logo.
Are there any other methods i might be able to use like ADB or what not to get myself out of this situation? or at least into recovery? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i've been searching for hours with little help and my eyes are starting to get strained.

hmmm.. I know it's a simple question, but I gotta ask.. are you holding the pwr and volume down button long enough? you have to keep holding it even after you see the LG screen.. Keep holding until you see the 2nd screen?
If so.. do the nvflash again? Edit: Not sure if I would do this without getting further guidance tho..

This. I remember when I boot looped my phone I had the problem of letting go of the volume key too early, you need to hold down volume and power from a totally powered off phone until recovery actually starts and you see the green "android" logo of CWM.
Try re-flashing CWM, NVFlash CAN fail. There is literally nothing you can do within the OS that will prevent recovery from working. Either you did something wrong somewhere along the recovery process or you discovered an entirely new problem with the phone. I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's the former.

Thanks for the response guys. I wish that it was the case of not holding the buttons long enough. I have tried numerous times with the buttons held down for a long period of time. I even held the combo down for almost 5 minutes a few times.
Every time i try to boot up, it won't go past the LG boot screen so i would pull the battery out and go through flashing CWM through NVflash again. I'm sure I'm not missing anything because everything goes through and gets sent to the phone successfully.
I did happen to run into a thread that was closely similar to mine but his method was to just keep reflashing CWM and the stock recovery back and forth every time it failed until it turned on. I might have to try that if i cannot figure out this problem out soon. Not being able to use this phone is killing me! heh.

I just joined your club. Wow this sucks.

So apparently this is a whole new problem that's been found? Every other help thread seems to point to using NVflash or remaking the partitions due to a bad flash using an O2x based file instead of G2x.
But none of those solutions come close to doing anything. There has been some people with the same problem as me but aren't proactive at all enough to get someone's attention, so i'm guessing this problem is getting pushed to the side with people just going about getting their phones replaces/buying new ones.
I did happen to run into a thread on paulobrien/modaco's forum that had people using NVflash to get out of any sticky situation like this. It just reverts everything back to the stock factory settings but with root. We cannot use this though because he hasn't built it to be compatible with our LGP999's because everything was built for their UK LGP990's. Maybe that's a start to getting this solution fixed?

I hate to say this, bit you might have to call t mobile and get a replacement. Flash back to stock recovery and they won't know you messed with anything.

Don't send back....you'll get same defacement a battery pull go into nvflah and go back stock then flash nv flash fix pArtitions

As I have mentioned before, NVflash does NOT give me access to my recovery let alone solve anything else. NVflash DOES work and does sucessfully send both CWM and the stock recovery but when I try to boot into either of them, let alone just power on normally, it simply DOES NOT go past the LG boot screen. it just hangs there doing nothing at all until I pull the battery out and do the same process over until it just hangs again.
while it is on/stuck at the LG screen, my computer does not recognize it so i cannot even try and run ADB commands. It does however, recognize it when I plug it in using the volume buttons held down when I use NVflash but there's nothing else I can do besides use NVflash obviously.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? Because my phone is doing this...
I attempted to restore my phone back to the wrong backup that was from a galaxy sII (2.3.4 i think); needless to say, the restore failed. I then restarted my phone from CWM and it gets stuck at LG screen.
I have tried to NVflash back to stock; nothing. same thing reflashing back to CWM.
ideas?

have you tried this link out yet?

same problem..... anybody find something to fix this yet?

From what I heard is that you need to remove the battery, then boot into recovery or something.

Use smartflash for the p990 but only use the p999 ap.bin file which will put the rom and kernel back to stock p999.

Rom for recovery always fixes any soft brick back to stock 2.3.3 OTA. It's saved my phone multiple times from stuck on S/W screen to being stuck on lg logo or even the dreaded can't mount sdcard-cache errors in cwm.

I used the following method when Clockworkmod became corrupted and was unable to mount my sd card. I had just wiped everything on my phone intending to install a new rom when the issue happened. I could not even get to the S/W upgrade screen. It saved my phone. Hope it works for you.

Glad for you that it worked.
Kwes1020 pointed me in the right direction last week. Be sure to give a thanks to ILUHA_89 who came up with the fix.

Amazing how people are soo lost without providing them link after link to other threads. They are soo lazy and can't follow simple directions, each time i get a new phone i go to that section on xda and soak up all the information as it usually is already there. It's just funny is all i guess.

It's really not that big a deal. I was brand new to android once and asked all sorts of things.
I, like you, happen to read everything I can get my hands on. Some struggle going through all the info. I was here the day the forum opened, so I kind of remember where everything is.
Some are lazy and others just have no idea what the heck is going on and are intimidated by certain processes. I would rather help someone instead of listening to them ***** about their broken phone.

[Oh Crap] XOOM is dead and it won't boot up!

I don't have a history of random reboots other than the once in a blue reboot because the browser gets stuck. I was using my Xoom last night before going to bed checking out a couple of website. I laid it down and went to bed and this morning I just put it in my bag and left to work.
The Xoom doesn't get past the Motorola logo and then the screen dims a black-blueish tint as if it were on but not on. I booted into recovery and tried to do a nandroid restore to a prior date. The restore finishes but when I reboot the Xoom still has the same issue.
The last thing I downloaded on the Xoom was that new market but I didn't like it so I uninstalled it. Right now the Xoom is plugged in charging. I don't believe it's the screen because I'm able to navigate through recovery without it shutting off. I'm stuck. What could it be?
By the way I pressed Vol Up + Power to force reboot and it's not working. Still a blackish blue tint screen.
Not sure where to put this but I can't post in the development thread. I flashed to 3.2 stock from rooted 3.1 stock and I'm stuck in a bootloop.
Any thoughts?

I'm going to try and do the update.zip for 3.2 after class and see if it boots up with that. This sucks.

Update:
I downloaded the 3.2 update that's in the development section and installed it. It still won't boot past the Motorola logo. It goes to the Motorola logo and then the screen turns blackish blue. If I hit the power the screen goes black. It was working g fine yesterday and I'm out of ideas.

Try going back to the beginning. Flash stock 3.0 and lock. If your xoom boots then you're back in the game. If not, at least its stock to send in for warranty repair.

I hope it's not an issue with my screen. I just find it weird that the screen shows that weird tint and if I hit the power button it goes black. It's as if the tablet is on but I'm not seeing an image on the screen. When I did a nandroid restore it got past the Motorola logo and went into the next phase (boot animation). It froze on the boot animation within 1 second of entering it. I left it alone for 30 minutes and it didn't do anything.
I don't want to send it back to Moto because G-D only knows when I'll get it back. Does anyone have experience with their repair ETA's? I'm nervous on sending it in because I read a thread where some Xoom owner got accused of having water damage. I don't want to them use that as an excuse so they won't fix it.
I have no personal experience. But there were a couple of posts in the General section (April, May time frame) from users who sent there Xoom to Moto for repair. All reported outstanding service. Call Motorola customer service and they will send you a shipping box overnight. Turn around in most cases was only 2 days. All had their devices back in under a week (departure to return). Good luck. Won't hurt to call Moto and talk to them about it.
Thanks. I'm going to have to return this to stock and relock it again before I can do that. I will call today and have them send me the box. I'm frustrated that I have nothing to play with.

You didn't use an app like screen off and lock did you? I had a problem with that app after the update...at one point my screen went completely black, I could see my soft keys and could access settings but that was it. Had to boot to recovery and wipe all over again.
It's a long shot but sometimes apps that behaved before an update can act whacky.
No nothing like that. I remember I was watching some YouTube videos and ended my night. The last thing I downloaded was the new market but it looked hideous so I removed it. I'm trying different things and I can't get it to work.

I've not got a tablet (hanging out here since I'm considering buying a xoom), but have you tried wiping data, cache, and dalvik in cwm? That, or don't you guys have some sort of computer based flashing program like Samsung's ODIN? Wiping or a fresh reinstall has always fixed that issue on my Vibrant.
Goodluck!

No such odin for us...and I don't think an SBF has been released, but we do have stock images from motorola for 3.0 and unofficial 3.1 and they can be flashed quite simply using fastboot. In your case, if you can still get into recovery, I don't believe this is a screen issue. It just sounds like you completely botched your software...not sure how this could have happened...but honestly, if you are curious to see exactly whats going on and you have ddms, just type ddms.bat into CMD while in your platform-tools folder, and then boot up your xoom and read the output. This will tell you exactly whats going on. If it says cannot detect device, it may be an issue with debugging not being activated from your last flash...that being said, I have been stuck at the Moto screen several times and luckily, restoring to stock 3.0 has ALWAYS gotten me out of it, as long as you can get into fastboot, you should be good to go.
Wipe, wipe, repeat!
This most certainly is a software issue. The fact alone that the device is showing the boot logo proves that the screen is functional. Sounds like a boot img problem.
I have had similar issues on a few occasions with my Evo, doing a full wipe and restore has always done the trick as has been posted above.
Good luck Gq.

Thanks for the advice. I was too busy yesterday (Full Time Work and Student) to fix it. I will try today since I don't have class. I really want to see what caused the problem so I will try that command in CMD and will post the output on these forums. Hopefully a dev can use it in the future to prevent this from happening to someone else.
I miss my Xoom.
I'm assuming I would CD to the directory and then run that command, correct?
Ok I guys I included the attachment so maybe someone can tell me what's wrong with my Xoom.
When I ran that command in command prompt a debug window popped up. Let me know if the attachment makes sense.
Uncaught Exception most likely has to do with software as I remember fixing Blackberry's that always had those issues but I could be wrong.
Update:
I followed this thread
Re-Lock & Unroot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1084537
and everything successfully pushed. I ended up getting an error messaage in fastboot (Failed image SOS 0x0002) so I decided to unlock the device by running fastboot oem unlock command. It completed successfully and got rid of the error message in fastboot. When I hit reboot it got past the Motorola logo and froze at that honeycomb animation (right in the beginning. I turned it off and turned it on again and now it won't go past the Motorola screen.
I went on a chat with Motorola and they will be sending me an email so I can send my Xoom for repair. I'm going to lock it again and send it back. I'm giving up unless anyone recommeds something I can try.

[Q] G2x Update Prob (Possible Brick)

Hey ppl. I have a really BIG problem with my G2x and I was wondering if you could help me out. I ran the LG Mobile Support Tool to update my G2x to 2.3.3. After the process, my phone is stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
I tried using to LG Support Tool and it's saying that I'm running V21e
I can't boot into recovery. All I get is "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
Before doing this I had done a backup through the recovery. How do I get it to bootup?
Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same problem! Stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while updating..."
So pulling the battery out, unplugging the USB and pressing vol-down + power doesn't boot to recovery? Did it freeze at 4% or get all the way through and now you're having this problem?
I'd suggest shutting the phone completely off and trying to root it again using NVFlash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054492&highlight=nvflash
I think that's the only real option if you can't get into recovery. I'm not guaranteeing it will work, but it's worth a shot.
If you can get it rooted again and get back to CWM, flash 2.3.3 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748 instead of LG's awful garbage updater.

It went all the way through.
I did the battery pull and pressed Power + Vol-Down and it didn't boot into recovery.
Same issue.
I've been working on this since about 1:00 PST.
I've tried 32 bit laptop. 64 bit desktop.
When I had initially got it going after about an hour, it basically had gotten to the "download" tab and constantly got stuck a 4%.
I have never had root on the phone, no custom roms or anything. Just a $543 brick.
Called LG was told to "Pull the battery and put it back in". Seriously? You guys had me on hold for 5 minutes and wasted 15 minutes of my time to tell me that?
Then I was told by the same guy if that doesn't work there are no other current workarounds other than sending the phone back to them.
No thanks.
Then I was live chatting with an LG guy named Jorge at the same time. He told me we needed to hard reset. Told him can't do that because the "S/W Upgrading" screen will just flash back after a power plus volume up hold. He said he believes we're having issues because it is so new, they seemed to have been blind sided by this. He said that they think that everyone was trying to update at the same time, possibly suggesting server overload.
Anyway, I've tried multiple computers, multiple USB ports on each. Multiple USB cables, and I even tried using a KDZ file that apparently housed the entire update. But for the life of me, I have no clue how to flash a .kdz file.
Any suggestions are MORE than welcome!
Thanks guys, and good luck.

I'm at the same place. I have CWM installed and can access it. I've flashed different ROMS and tried to restore my old one. It all works, I'm sure, but I can't get past that S/W Update screen to find out!
Sorry guys, wish I could help more but I'm stumped. I'm sure there are people on here smarter than I am who can figure this out. It seems to be a widespread problem so hopefully someone will figure out a fix. Damn LG s/w updater. This isn't the first time it's bricked phones.

What i did before this problem
1.used the lg support tool to go from froyo to gingerbead (worked great)
2. attempted to use clockwork rom to install icecream sandwhich based rom (it failed)
What i get now
1.If i turn my phone on like i always would i would get the lg logo, and it would stay like that forever
2. if i try to boot into recovery i get "s/w upgrading"
I contacted lg and they said to send it in and wait 2 WEEKS to get it back and there may be an additional charge
Can someone please help me fix this without going to lg. I just want to be able to use my phone again :'(

But if you installed the 2.3.4 then don't update to any rom besides the kwes 2.3.4 because anything else you won't have audio or anything while in call there is no fix for it yet besides using kdz to downgrade.

if you're unsure of the APX drivers set-up you have a more basic guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Remove the battery.
Plug in your USB cable to your PC.
Hold Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time keeping them held down.
Plug in the USB cable to your phone. (Keep the buttons held until Windows detects a new APX device.)
Open Device Manager in Windows and you should see "APX Device" listed with an error icon.
Right click on the APX device.
Select 'Update driver software'.
Select 'Browse my computer...'.
Select 'Let me pick...'.
Select 'Have disk'.
Browse to directory you extracted the *driver* software to: One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-09-23\APX.
Accept any warnings, including the big red alert (you may need to disable UAC).
Now in Device Manager under 'USB Controllers' you should have an 'NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices'.
If not, uninstall the driver, reboot, rinse and repeat.

I don't think you're booting the phone up into cwm the right way.
Lol do this:
Make sure phone is off. While the phone is off hold down the volume down button.
While still holding volume down, hold the power button.
Continue to hold BOTH the volume down and power buttons. When the SECOND LG logo appears, let go of both of the buttons.
And no offense, but if you're not comfortable with modding your phone... you really shouldn't do it or ask someone else who knows what they're doing to do it.

That script is perfectly fine and didn't hurt your phone at all. It states that it will wipe everything out even the rom you were previously on. So when the phone rebooted it stayed on that LG logo because it didn't have a rom to bootup.
At that point a quick battery pull and reboot into recovery was all you needed to do.

2. attempted to use clockwork rom to install icecream sandwhich based rom (it failed)

Ok, so then its safe to assume that you rooted your phone first? Then you set up your phone by using nvflash so you can use ClockWorkMod (CWM)? Then booted your phone into recovery and tried to install ICS? If not done in this order then thats your fault. If you did it in this order then you missed something.
A common mistake is trying to install a ROM via CWM while the phone is running. When you do this the phone restarts and gives you the error triangle with android underneath it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039985 Tells you how to do as well as provides links to everything it doesn't.
As for recovery they provisded the right link. Follow it to the "T" and you'll be ok.

But the key issue was that CWM recovery was destroyed as well after nullifing thus leaving me in a stand still to do something. nvflash was the only thing left to recover the phone at that point which worked very well.
There is pretty much no way that after running either the One-Click or Cleanup Batch that he can't get the phone into CWM unless there is a hardware problem. This most likely means that the problem isn't with the scripts or phone, but with the procedure he is attempting.
Even if nullifier (which I don't think is of much use here) had wiped all partitions, the NVFlash will still pop you out of it and leave you with a working CWM.
So keep reading and keep watching videos of how to do it and make sure your drivers are correct. READ a bunch first.
And remember that he got here due to an LG software problem or issue with operation, not from trying to flash as a noob, so he knows he's in over his head right now.
Remember, we all had to start swimming somewhere and it usually wasn't pretty at first. Mine was a corrupted Motorola RAZR.
It appears that this is an older post, but if you are still having this issue, then maybe I can help. If anyone else finds this later, hopefully it helps them as well. I just did something similar and I thought I was screwed. I rooted my phone, installed a ROM (Hellfire... nice ROM BTW), then I got the nullifier. I installed the ROM before I ran the nullifier because I wanted to make sure the ROM worked. However, after running the nullifier, the ROM didn't work.
The only thing that I could get to show was the LG logo at the startup... no second logo (Blue LG), no SW upgrade... NOTHING. The phone wouldn't do anything else. Luckily, I wasn't the first to have this issue and they found the solution...
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566681
Since you have already done other steps, I am assuming that you already have the drivers installed. So, the only thing you should need to do is download the ROM then install it by clicking flash.bat. The instructions on the page are pretty easy to follow.
No need to deal with the NvFlash until AFTER you do the above procedure. You will need to run it again after the above procedure because it puts it back in the original state (pretty much). The NvFlash will give you the superuser and Clockmod back. You should be good to go after that.

Try using nvflash to revert back to 2.3.4 I can't give you a link but it's easy to find in the development section

Did you try using the kdz updater? it's a tricky method, but if you follow the guide properly you should be able to get it going

Never mind my last post, you need to be able to boot into a rom to use kdz updater, it's been a while since I had to do this kind of thing.
I'm pretty sure you only soft bricked your phone (i.e. it still turns on) and the only way, that I know of, is to use nvflash. I've had the same problem before, there could be many things that are causing the phone to not be recognized by your computer. Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17258229
when you plug the usb into your phone make sure the audio on you computer is loud enough for you to hear that "usb recognized" sound. If you don't hear it, or it does not get recognized, try using a different usb port on your computer, believe me that actually worked for me a couple of times. Also, make sure you follow the steps very carefully because if you use the wrong button combination, or release the buttons too early, it won't work.
I wish I could help you more, but that's all i've got.
Good luck, and if by any chance you get it fixed, don't try to root your phone using any root tools, simply nvflash cwm recovery and flash your choice of a custom rom, that will automatically give you root privileges.

every time i look at my apx driver it always tells me to troubleshoot but it always says driver not installed. ive downloaded the same driver in different posts just to make sure but nothing helps. Wireless shops are useless. I live in vegas and there isnt a single store with a person smart enough to figure it out.lol. ive given my phone up for days at a time to shops who brag about "WE CAN FIX ANYTHING" they lied. well i guess im going to search for a few more hours on here to get some kind of lead. thanks for the help. if you kknow anything else or figure something out i would appreciate the help.
Have you tried this stuff?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619932
It sounds to me like your pc's jacked up the driver somehow. Try plugging in the phone with the battery out and holding all 3 buttons, go into your device manager and uninstall all the USB drivers. Then reboot and try following the apx driver installation procedure again.
Sorry if you tried all this stuff a million times already.
I would say the two things that I would focus on would be to first fix the drivers on your computer. I downloaded mine from the LG website. Next is to flash CWM Recovery so you can flash a rooted ROM to your phone. I would go back to the thread where you got the instructions to start flashing and ask the same questions but only after reading the whole thread. There the orig. developer might chime in and you'll have more specific answers focused on your specific issue.
It's true your phone isn't bricked and have patience and you'll get it fixed.

well i have all the drivers needed. and the computer is fine but the phone is not. i mean the pc doesnt quite read the phone right. with that being said i dont know how to flash cwm recovery to a phone my computer cant read. im running windows 7 64bit and all my usb drivers work fine.
CWM = Clockworkmod Recovery (everyone remember this is a newbie).
Important question: Did you do a backup before making any changes to your phone?
Also, try this: remove your phone's battery for 30 seconds. Put the battery back in. Press and hold the volume down button, then press and hold the power button. Hold both buttons. First you'll see the white LG screen, then wait, when you next see the blue LG screen wait ONE second (no longer) then release the buttons. Tell us what the phone does then and what the screen says.
Have you tried taking out your SIM card and micro SD card?
Usually right after I take them out and plug in my phone while holding volume up and volume down... it usually works after that.
Yup, that's my problem. No matter how many USB ports I tried it still wouldn't read it until I took out the SIM card and micro SD ;p.
Try this on for size...

Sounds like you are having the same the issues i was having with my phone why dont you try this..... First you have to flash a custom recovery image for your phone, follow all the procedures exactly then once you have flashed your CWM Recovery ( i. e. Clockworkmod recovery) Once you have installed that properly, you can now flash your new custom ROM and that should help to fully reboot your phone back to recovery for you to start using again....... hope that works for you.......just as it did for me have a good one!!... :fingers-crossed:

May sound stupid, but have you tried different cords? Maybe your USB cord is bad. Just a thought.

@op can you give us screenshots of:
A: what your device manager looks like when you plug your phone in not in apx mode.
And
B: When it is in apx mode.
To do this: right click on my computer>properties>on left hand side, click on device manager. Hit print screen, open paint and tell it to paste. Save and upload here.

well i brought it to two shops and were both unsuccessful. wireless toyz and smart fix. i have it back and it goes to the lg screen. and instead of the second it flashes from black to a very dim gray back and forth. when i hold the power button along with the volume down it does a master reset and i can press the home button then it takes me to a screen to delete cache partition and what not and you move up and down with the volume keys but i cannot select anything. i think i really messed my phone up.
Somehow you got stock recovery. Google for howbto do a master reset, on devices like the nexus tablet at my work there's a series of steps needed to do a full reset/restore. Just booting into stock recovery may not give you the option. As well, please post those screen shots as I said earlier, this way the issue with the USB can be troubleshot and maybe we can get you a fully working phone with CWM.

[Q] Rooted Froyo to Frozen Galaxy S 9I000 after a flash with SGS Kernel Flasher

I have like many, played with my Android for 2 years now. I have a bricked Infuse GB (finally toyed with it to its death last week), so I pulled out my old Froyo unrooted backup. I rooted with SuperOneClick - easy. I made some kernel tweaks in Rom Toolbox Pro, and also changed a few status bar icons. I did several reboots and all was running well. I did need to adjust some more tweaks but I saved those for my next big change, when I decided to.
...look into more of what I could do and downloaded the zip file for Voodoo Sound. I read that this could do wonders on my Froyo stock rom and was compatible - actually, I read fairly safe. So I can't say if this caused this or not. It could have been my lack of booting after each simple change, font, notification icons..etc. But I didn't do much more before I flashed Voodoo Sound
I downloaded SGS Kernal Flasher from the market, and when I flashed and it booted, I got the SAMSUNG screen. Then followed by a new black screen with GALAXY S GT-I9000 in white with Samsung logo on bottom. And it stays frozen. I cannot enter recovery mode or download mode to my knowledge - or should I say, experience.
Since this was my backup and what I was doing seemed relatively harmless Im a bit shocked. I loved that my font and icons were changing, something I couldn't do with my gingerbread infuse using rom toolbox pro.
So now I am stuck on a bootscreen I've never seen before, nor intended to flash if that is what happened. Was this flashing Voodoo Sound or was it my negligence with other? I just rooted this yesterday after getting too frustrated to fix the GB. I don't think I had but 4 apps downloaded and really left most of the build.prop stuff alone beyond some minor adjustments for battery life.
So I'm stuck on a boot screen with a phone model I am not familiar with, cannot get into download mode or into recovery mode. I had a TWRP Recovery zip file I never set up yet, never got CWM recovery working - regardless, I just started playing with it so I'm lost as I thought I could just wipe, reinstall packages and reboot fresh. I hate this to be my first post, but I usually find all the answers I need from you guys and I appreciate all the efforts you put into this site to help noobs like myself from creating disasters. I just didn't know what to do and if I'm not hard bricked, I don't want to end up that way.
I thought unrooting would work, but I can't get into the phone so it won't connect to the computer. Also, when plugged in, it shows a battery frozen at zero. I know it's probably charging but that must mean I messed up something that starts at boot. Anyone willing to help me resolve this issue and get me back on so I can make phone calls again - something I should probably stick too, haha. But sometimes, mistakes are the best teachers...so maybe I'll learn something easy from the pros here.
Well u have the wrong kernel flashed some how
I would try a different computer and go for the heimdall package to take phone back to stock.
As soon as you do get to download mode and I know it sucks with bad kernel flash I did before my self. Gotta just keep trying ..... If you got power u can get download mode.
For more information go to qkster thread ...

Thank you, I'll search that out. Well, I thought bricking was more potential, but if I can do a recovery on both that'd be great. I backed all up to laptop and gdrive before - and actually thought about leaving it "new". As my first root and tweaking, or "modding" out the GB was great. And I never picked Froyo back up, but I just wiped it and rooted it yesterday, and I only used it for a month when I got it (long story with phone provider and a dent on the side (but I have two Infuses,Froy and GB)
But I am going to stay away from flashing. That got the GB...but since you brought up the power option. I thought they were toast. If it takes me a few days to learn, I'd do it in a heart beat - they both have power and that means I can get them both working. The GB has a PC on left, Phone on right and a triangle in middle. I didn't read into fixing that - which I thought would be tougher than grabbing my other. Maybe I can get both working and get some more insight.
I appreciate it, and anyone else who inputs. I'll start reading into that other thread after dinner, cross your fingers for me. :fingers-crossed:
I cannot find the specific thread you were directing me to. But I was successful after many attempts to enter download mode. It is being recognized but unable to access the insides of my phone. If I click reboot from download mode (volume down), it boots to the stuck Samsung logo. If I push up, it's in download mode, but I have nothing to send commands to it as it's not being recognized beyond the Samsung USB composite.
Can someone direct me to where the thread may be about the frozen/stuck Samsung boot logo? Also, frozen 0% battery level but charged all night.
I'm trying to find something specific on this but it's difficult being an Infuse Froyo and I'm stuck on the Galaxy S GTI900 which was never there before my last reboot - obviously whatever I flashed was probably for the Galaxy S. I get SAMSUNG, then the Galaxy S screen...can't seem to get into recovery because it's too fast before stuck again.
Take out the battery, put it back in do not turn it on hit volume up and volume down plug in USB that's the download mode you are looking for
