I need some info from all of you OC'ing. I need to know your max safe clock speed. (the highest setting you can use with out locking up, mine seems to be 1225) I would assume our safe speed to be somewhere around 1122ish? Anyway, I need it so I can oc the next rom on boot. V4 is gonna have some big improvements..
I have my cm7 rom using the 1100, and I am getting ~1125 ish without issue right now.

Using the one click method I've run 1200 with no problems but using the optimizer at the same OC and don't see as good results and is erratic but runs fine at 1175. I believe moofree has been running 1275 using the optimizer with good results though so guess these phones are gonna have some variance in them.

I will PM it to you in the morning, I have it running, what seems to be pretty good right now. I have had to flash, test, fix, flash, some 4 times today to fix some oddities that I noticed. Hopefully if all looks good I will post it for everyone on Tues. or Wed.

hey guys, so new to the forums or any forum really. im still a bit of a noob so please be patient with me... so first question how did you get cm7 on the atrix 2 without an unlocked bootloader? second question is regarding...
Supercharged v3 rom
people keep posting that the webtop/mirroring isnt showing when hdmi is pluged in and i want to help.
i would post this in the developement section under supercharged v3 but since im new to the forum it wont let me. if someone could re-post this then that would be awsome! im just trying to help.
ANYWAYS! haha When the dev (lfaber06) made the v2 and v3 he forgot to include the portalapp.apk! so easy fix! i just applied the web top hack again through root explorer (i replaced both files in the webtop hack... i just wanted to make sure) and waa laa! it works again! At least it did for me!
Once again i appologize for not posting that in the proper section. like i said ive never done this before...
anyways i hope i could help!

I compiled the whole thing from source and separated the kernel and boot images from the rest of it, and "threw" them out, and created the ROM basically without the kernel and boot images.

Thanks for this. I just copied the PortalApp.apk to /system/app/ and it worked great (Dockservice.apk was already there for me). I'll copy your post in the dev section.

May I suggest that we write in this format?
suppose the original data is :

1120MHz x3

a guy with Atrix 2 running at 1200MHz, he may write

If you are going to include a default overclock I would make it ~kinda conservative. I would think 1100Mhz would be a good one to include as default. However, personally, I am not really interested in overclocking until we can retain the clock speed ramping down when it's idle (as I understand it, when you overclock with the current method it locks the speed at the overclocked speed)

Ok, cool, that's awesome. Base 1100Mhz in the ROM with the tools to go faster if you want. That's what I'd do.
1100 would be a good default that should likely run on pretty much all the phones out there.
edit: I see 1122 in V4, that should probably be okay as well.
Hey guys,
Quick question, I hope it's not redundant but I looked around and didn't see a similar thread. I just rooted my Galaxy Note i717 using Odin and have installed CWM Recovery. The main reason I wanted to root was to overclock my phone slightly. My question is, what is the best app for over clocking the stock ROM and what are some safe values. I've seen some extremes such as a max of 1900+ and a min of 350 ish, I know that's bad for battery life though. I was thinking around 1600-1700 max and a min of 250 ish. I'd like to have better performance but I dont want suckish battery life, preferably still a day on a charge. But i'm new to all this and really have no clue.
Thanks!
Set cpu, no frills, antutu, CPU tuner, they all get the job done in my opinion

cpu tuner is the best, set cpu will unstable your phone,i am a galaxy 551 and xperia x8 owner, cpu tuner gives me the best result..and also no frils is ok..
Ok cool. So I have setCPU now. And apparently the max values have already been acheived. Does this mean I need to have a custom ROM to go over the stock 1500 mhz?

Shyamjptpm is correct, not all the ROM support cpu overclock, when choosing a ROM you need to search for a custom ROM where is specified that support overclock, then I dont know your android phone but there's also a good chance that no ROMs present the overclock feature.

how did u do it?Did u use rom toolbox
And this belongs in the development section why?
My recommendation to you is to lower that back. The way it works is that it allows an application to store a maximum of that much memory. Setting it high would force it to garbage collect much later which means more CPU cycles for the app. Bad thing is low RAM and bad multitasking as said by murad. Setting it low would cause it to garbage collect much sooner so better multitasking but worse performance. Overall this doesn't really affect performance that much unless making an app use up the whole of the phone like OP did which is an obviously bad thing.
64 is good and don't change it unless you are just testing.

i dont understand its running better and it was never that fast and i have no more wake uo lag and everythin is loding realy fast ...i chage it from build.prop whit root browser.....and i just try to run 3 smol games in the same time and lissen muzic ...and i didn get lag when i run ups in task manager the ram is use 315 mb.....
Very bad idea to take all the system ram and put it in dalvik heap.. way to much.. 64mb is default, if you take all ram for heap then everything will be preloaded by default. this may result in some faster loading times but the memory is constantly unnecessarily filled. when you have 315mb in use your almost at the limit.. think about it, any app that suddenly requires more ram will lack the ability to get it. And I'm not even mentioning LMK that is also active (so you force your memory to be full and lmk keeps killing apps since its full). This is how i think about it.
edit: just read that you don't use any specific lmk, so i guess that's lmk 20mb or so. still your idea just doesn't work out
Dude...way to big...usually the modders only use 140m max..but still not quite supported for multitasking...anyway not wrong to experiment it....cheers...

Hello,
I dont know if Im writting to correct subthread,
I was reading a lot of topics about it..
I bough that phone when it was released and I was happy that I got most powerful smartphone, but then I started playing games on it and everything was bad..
Some super graphic games like Shadowzone, Dead Trigger, Dead Space and Epic Citadel are without even little lag (+30-60FPS), but games like GTA Vice City or today released Dungeon Hunter 4 .. they are un-playable for me on my stock HTC One X even at lowest graphic settings.
I was reading that application on google play will let me boost CPU Frequency and my games will be lag free.
I just need to root my phone download that app boost my cpu freq. and play? Or I need to do anything else or do u have any recommendation for me?
Hows your HTC One X doing for gaming?
Thanks!

My advice is to try a gaming kernel like XM kernel.

Root your device.
Download setCPU or Any other cpu app like the one you gave link of.
In the app choose interactive governor.
This will be helpful. But if you want better performance use gaming boost app, too.
More info available at the link I gave you.
Pretty simple but very helpful.

You can install ota's after root, just do NOT remove any system apps ! And after applying the root with the custom recovery you need to flash back the corresponding STOCK recovery.
When you UNLOCK the bootloader you will be put back to full factory stock, so yes. Nothing will be erased by applying root itself
You can however make backups of the stuff you need from the stock rom with the app called CARBON.
hope this helps you

I got HTC One X but games on it are lagging for example Dungeon Hunter 4, Need for speed Most Wanted or other games by Gameloft.. Like Wild Blood etc...
If I root my phone and after that just download that setcpu application and set CPU frequeny to 1GHz will be my games lag-free? I wont do anything else I will just root my phone and download that application and set CPU frequency.

The hox goes to 1500 mhz not just a 1000 .... But when all 4 cores are enabled they go up to max 1300 if i recall this right. To get real lag free you can install a custom kernel that allows unlocking the 4 cores to 1500 mhz at the same time.
There are even kernels that go up to 1700 mhz

Well I bough that phone because it was labeled as Most powerfull machine in 2012. It cost me 650 dollar and I though I will run every game on highest setting with lag-free experience .. and whoaa I cant play everygame and almost every third game is lagging on my HOX. I will buy iPhone as next phone really. This is ridicilous.
When its that strong why my HOX cant run these games without lag?
I saw a lot of videos of HOX running GTA Vice city on full graphic without lags and I cant even run it on minimal without frame drops. Why HTC dont include firmware to fix this? Its not in hardware its not in game its about HTC firmware.
Im quite noob in these kernels roms etc.. I dont want to break my phone it was quite expensive for me. I also want to update from oficial HTC server to prevent bricking my phone.
I think its more about the games being unoptimized for the t3 rather than the t3 itself.
Shadowzone used to be one of the games that lagged badly.

Hey guys, I have tried to stay away from changing the dpi on my devices because I have heard of crappy issues with it, I tried out SlimLP (note its unofficial for my device) for the first time on my galaxy tab 2 10.1 and I noticed under the settings I was able to change my dpi (must be a slimrom thing) its default was at 160 and I bumped it to 200 which made everything a little larger, I bumped it down to 180 and had a happy size for me, is there any downsides to changing the dpi? As in, battery life issues, display issues, performence issues, will I brick it The future?

Hi, regarding battery life, no worries. I do DPI downsize on my S4 since 3 years without any issue.
However your hardware has limit. Better to look around the web to know how far some user did some experimentations.
But in any case, I recommend to get any nandroid backup before changing any DPI value, or don't be afraid about reinstalling the rom again.

Thanks for the reply, Good stuff to know! reason why i asked is because it just looked so professional on how it was added in and how easy it is to change it, im going to make a backup but i think i will be fine with bumping it up a tiny bit ( i tried googling the original Dpi of the tab 2 10.1 and i couldnt find any information :silly Would changing from the default 160 dpi to what i have it on now (180 dpi) be a drastic change?
