Dropped my phone in the toilet 2 days ago. It's been sitting in rice for the past 18 hours or so. It now powers on but the screen is bluish black with what look like bubbles underneath. Any chance this thing comes back to life with more time in rice?

Let it dry completely for a couple of days in the rice before turning it on again. Fingers crossed.

rice has made the device turn on and boot into android. the main problem now is that there are bubbles under the screen. any idea how to get them out? also sim card isn't recognized for some reason. any help is appreciated
I was trying to say I think more water is in phone. Give it longer and maybe it will go away. Chances are though if it still was wet in areas when you turned it on it could have shorted some parts such as sim reader. The bubbles in screen could be permanent and you would need New parts.

Hi everyone,
Have you people ever by accident slipped your android phone on the floor or anywhere and get it damaged? And did you ever bother to get it repaired?

Just give us your comments and let us know!
Just curious to hear from you people!

Does it count if the phone is in its case, inside my bag, which is on the passenger seat, and i have to slam on the brakes cos some idiot can't drive, and my bag hits the car floor, with phone etc inside it...........then on those occaisions yes
I have already dropped my Moto Razr Maxx many times and it has always survived the fall, although no drops higher than 1-2 m height.
Sadly, yes. Good thing it was in a protective case, which has scuff marks now.
yes drop the phone on concrete while getting out of car..... chipped corners . screen still safe lucky
I've dropped my S3 once or twice, but I've always had a case and there was no damage.
I usually bring my phone when I sleep to hear music with ear phone..
And unfortunately when i wake up the phone droped and the screen is crack..
Since that I never listening music again when sleep..
Have droped my tab 2 twice... !!
First time it hit the ground flat on the back...
Second time with the bottom left corner taking the jerk... !
I thought the screen might have cracked , but thankfully it didn't...

Dropped my One X into a puddle of water under my car. When I went down to pick it up I accidentally kicked snow on top of it. Took me a while to find it because it wad dark and I could only use my hand to feel for it.
To my surprise there was nothing wrong with it when I got it into the house.

Remember!! You should always switch off the phone and let it dry for a few days( since you cannot remove the battery from one x) as water could
damage all the chips inside... maybe you were lucky once.
I dropped my LG optimus 2x multiple times, sometimes even without a case... Not even a nick or scratch.
Dropped my nexus 4 once so far with a bumper and just my luck the top right chrome trim is nicked and there is about 10px of bleeding in the upper right of the screen.
Thank the nexus gods its still very usable though, sometimes I don't even notice the damage as long as the screen isn't showing white.

Today, I dropped my one s...as it fell towards the pavement, i thought it was done, but without even thinking...like it was a primal reaction, I then kicked it (softly) at the last moment, which changed the direction towards the grass, where it softly landed unharmed.

I always drop my HTC Desire HD. It's like holding a soap
But I always make it land on my foot
I dropped my Motorola Atrix three times.
The first time, it dinged all 4 corners of the case - pretty weird, but it worked fine.
The second time, wifi and bluetooth stopped working - and never came back.
The third time, a 1" tall strip across the screen stopped working - just across where the SIM unlock PIN pad showed up! So I couldn't get into my phone anymore.
I ended up changing the PIN over adb to use only keys I could still reach... but that was a nightmare. RIP
Hello guys. Today just by mistake I noticed a scratch which seem to be few dead pixels or something like that? I removed the screen protector and tried to rub the area but it seems to be under the Lcd glass. What can be done? Which part should be replaced? I bought the device abroad so no warranty. Image of the scratch is attached .
dust or something?
I would call Samsung. The phone should still be under manufacturers warranty.

Warranty
The warranty is not given in my country.. I can send it abroad but it Will take ages for it to return. It looks like a small piece of hair under the screen glass.. Or maybe defective Lcd I am not sure.
You should still try Samsung international warranty. .. You bought it while you were on holiday

Yeah it does look like a small hair or something. Every phone should have a warranty if you bought it new. I would still call Samsung and find out what can be done.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
Turn off the screen then put a flashlight to it. If it's a hair you'll be able to see it. If it's dead pixels then it won't be visible when screen is off.

I think i got water in my lcd from trying to install a screen protector.
Anyone kno anyway I can somehow dry the water up? I just checked the phone again after being in rice for 12hrs. Still there.
I kno somethings wrong cause I have "show touches" enabled and its as if im touching the phone with 3-5 fingers at once
My touches dont register cause the water is acting as a "finger" itself
How'd you get water in the LCD from putting on a screen protector? I'd recommend removing the screen protector and drying out screen by putting it in rice again.
If that doesn't work you can try putting it in rice and in the refrigerator.

If it were my phone I would start to disassemble. Not a complete teardown but enough to get some air to the screen to dry it out some more. Probably still put it in a bag of uncooked rice. I do not recommend turning it on anymore if you still see water you could be making it worse or you already did too much damage. Be patient and let it dry completely. I dropped my g1 in the toilet (didnt pee yet)way back in the day. Immediately ripped out the battery and let that thing air dry for a day. Worked out for me and never had any issues after. Good luck.
working now

I don't know whats wrong with the screen or what part do I need to replace. I didn't drop it or anything and my young cousin was messing around with it. Could it be the digitizer or LCD screen?
Details:
No cracks
Screen is responsive
Everything else works fine
Any help would be appreciated
May be something wrong with the flex cable. You need to take your phone to the repair shop.
Your screen is just preases to such a pressure that the thin film between the outer screen ans panel.of les os broken. So you have to get whole screen replacws
