[Q] LG90 Screen problem - General Questions and Answers

I don't know whats wrong with the screen or what part do I need to replace. I didn't drop it or anything and my young cousin was messing around with it. Could it be the digitizer or LCD screen?
Details:
No cracks
Screen is responsive
Everything else works fine
Any help would be appreciated

May be something wrong with the flex cable. You need to take your phone to the repair shop.

Your screen is just preases to such a pressure that the thin film between the outer screen ans panel.of les os broken. So you have to get whole screen replacws

[Q] help with t-mo g2x screen/digi

Hi
i bought this used g2x and when i got it and powered on there are lines going across the screen is this a Digitizer issue or a screen issue so i can replace accordingly.
i took pictures of it if it helps.
the screen responds to finger tap so i guess digi is ok.....
Thanks in advance for your help.
I would deffinately have demanded my money back. Well, its going to be the lcd screen. there's good and bad news here. Good: will be far easier to replace than the digitizer. Bad: from experience, the LCD costs more. I think for my last phone, the LCD was slightly twice the cost of the digitizer.
The reason its your screen though is because the digitizer is only conductive glass. It doesn't produce any light in which you would get those lines.

If you bought it through ebay and the faulty lcd wasn't described as a problem, you need to file a report so you can get a refund and prevent it from happening to others.

It is possible that if the seller repaired the LCD that the ribbon cable connecting the display to the logic board shifted and came loose during transit.
Contact the seller before you do ANYTHING... first try to get him to replace/refund, if they won't, find out if they replaced the screen or digitizer themselves. If yes, you may be looking at simply reattaching a cable.

screen scrambled after digitizer replacement

So I replaced my digitizer, and after reassembling the phone, now the screen is all scrambled, as in the picture. It actually reacts to touches so the new digitizer is working. So did I connect something wrong, or is the screen just broken? Anybody else got a screen like this?
Looks like the lcd is shot. Maybe it just needs to be reconnected, give that a shot first.
When I was replacing iphone screens I've had similar occurances with a poorly connected cable.

You need a new LCD screen too.
I've ordered a new screen. I've tried taking it apart and reassembling again, but the screen came up the same.
I have a parts g2x that did the same thing, I can take the main board out it and use it in another. So it's definitely screen/lcd related.

[Q] Anybody changed digitizer themselves?

So i got a cracked screen with non working digitizer. LCD is still working like a charm.
I got 250€ from my home insurance, due to this being an accident.
So could you answer these questions please?
1. How is the display built up? (What parts are there (screen, digitizer and lcd?)) And is the "glue" between them hard to separate as I dont want to break my LCD?
2. On ebay digitizer costs 100 bucks. Is the digitizer the only thing I need or is the plastic screen (NOT LCD) a separate thing?
3. Should I even bother doing this? What do you advice me to do?
Thanks...

Cracked Screen by dropping

Hello there,
I dropped my phone and obviously cracked the bottom right portion of the glass. It is still working as I can register touches and navigate around. My question is that should I get a LCD replacement screen or the whole repair kit along with the digitizer.
Get repair by someone who know how to fix it.

Replacing the glass is an absolute pain, you would be better replacing the entire front.

Can I use a smartphone without the glass screen?

Hello, my smartphone's screen is cracked and the repair is expensive. If I remove the glass screen and leave the lcd screen only will the touchscreen work? Will I be able to use it as a daily driver?

Lol, maybe, but even "if" it still worked, the moisture from the air, the oils from your fingers and everything that is transferred to your hands from everything else you touch, dust and particulates from the air would quickly kill it.
Buy a replacement glass that comes with the kit to change it, then find a YouTube video that shows how to disassemble your device and change the glass using the kit. You should be able to find an inexpensive replacement glass and kit and do it yourself, it will save you most of what the repair would be at a shop.
